  1. Transvestite director? NO. Tiffany Show...Yes!

End up entering the sex trade? NO. Patpong/Nana/etc...Yes!

Teenagers in school uniforms engaging in various sexual acts with clients? NO. Underaged boys/girls Sunee Plaza, Pattaya...Yes!

    Gay life? NO. Boyztown...Yes!

Perhaps movies should not be too realistic in Thailand.

Spot on. Don't you know that reality is to be found on TV at 8.30 every night where everyone drives Mercs, has numerous maids of dark skin, the baddies all wear black, have fake moustaches and talk to themselves and the goodies all wear white and have stress trying to find the love of their life.

Yes and then the Hi Sos spend the rest of the script arguing and teaching the masses that violence is normal!..........Sad! but it beats Acting for a living.

  2. It's very sad when we read of fellow farangs who fall on hard times and find the only way out is suicide.

It seems that most of their Embassies have little or nothing organised to help them, get back to their own Countries.

On a practical note, why not have the Traveller prove their means of getting back should they become destitute,at the Visa stage (especially any short term Visas )

This could take the form of a Legal Affidavit, taken by family members or close friends, that should the worst happen to the Traveller, then they would provide the necessary funds to at the very least, to Repatriate Him/Her.

Or some kind of Financial Deposit held with a Lawyer or Solicitor in the country of origin. To be released in such emergencies, as necessary.

After all, most Migrants to Thailand, arrive with enough finances to keep themselves in Thailand for many years or permanently,so an emergency, upfront, initial ,holding payment would not be missed by them, should plans go wrong? (enough said)

Thailand has been trying to attract Quality Tourists (rich) for years, but dont mind admitting the less affluent, who are most likely to go broke.

Just a thought,or two,to maybe, be improved on? by other Tv Members with ideas?

  3. What the hel_l is bubble someone?

    Dont shout we hear you!

Bubble is English Slang for someone who, tells the Police, Authorities,or individual. That someone else has done something wrong.

    e.g

I saw you steal that item.

Your Girlfriend has a new boyfriend.

  4. I know a guy living here doing pretty much the same thing though it involves him renting out his council flat in the UK. Whilst I dislike what he's doing I would not inform the authorities as it would lead to him being separated from his Thai wife and child.

This individual has no means or even ability to support his family here legally. He's an idiot for getting into this position but no, I couldn't inform.

I know a bloke who got away with this for 10 years before he was caught. Hard to feel sympathy overall for someone who chooses to live this way.

Although on a personal level yeah I felt sorry for him going back to the UK with nowhere to live job etc....its for this reason I reckon I wouldn't snitch.

Last time I was home I bumped into a woman I grew up with, haven't seen for over twenty years. Chatting about life I asked her where she was working, she replied in a local factory and that she'd been working their since leaving school.

When asked if she likes working there she replied - No I hate it, but I've got kids to feed.

She's not unusual, she's like millions of others who get off their <deleted> and work for a living, she and all those like her are deserving of absolute respect.

Scum scrounging off the system, buying life styles they don't want to work for with other people's money - If they get married and start a family, let them do what the rest of the world does - Get off their <deleted> and work.

How correct you are Guesthouse, this is what most of the population does,if you have a job you enjoy, then truly you are a very fortunate person.

In my working life of 40 years,I would estimate that only 20% to 30% was enjoyable years, the rest was a unspoken agreement with the Boss: You pay me and I will do my very best to give you the best standard of workmanship.OK (again unspoken) I

  5. It would seem that lots of Posters on TV have been in Thailand far too long,to be in touch with developments in the UK.

For one; There is a Telephone number frequently advertised on British Television (and has been for a number of years) by the DWP,encouraging people to tell them anonamously if they believe anyone to be claiming Benefits fraudulently.

Another point, the UK retirement Pensioners are being Penalised and and are disallowed annual increases to their Pension because they do not live in the Uk, which is unfair IMO.

UK residency stipulation also applies to British Thailand residents claiming Benefits, whilst resident in Thailand.

They are not entitled because of non residency.which is not unfair IMO.

The reasoning is: Pensions has been earned, from a lifetime of work, and paying NI contributions and Taxes, and is not classed as a Benefit.

The second one is a Benefit and not an entitlement

Theoretically if these fraudsters were weeded out then maybe there would be extra money available for their increases and no need to penalise the Pensioners ,or others for that matter.

So as usual someone has to foot the bill for anothers fraud.

  6. I'm listening to some Thai music at the moment, and as always music is a personal choice,

I personally cant stand morlam music, or traditional Thai stuff, so perhaps something a bit more popular might suit you to start with,

    How about trying:

    1. Loso

    2. Carabou

    3. Bird

All very Popular, give it a go,maybe something might click for you.

  7. Yes go ahead- if you can live with your wife playing around sometimes behind your back. I see so many young asian lady/old farang man marriages where the wife is having affairs with mostly younger thai/farang men. Yes, asian women married to farang man their same age may also cheat, but it happens much much more when the farang is old and their wife/gf is young.

Just go to any of the higher end clubs in Bangkok on a given night- Q bar, bed supper club etc. many younger girls going home with the young farang dudes who are open/happy to tell you their older farang husband is at home and doesn't enjoy going to clubs but lets his wife go out for 'a girls night out'

So if thats the way they treat their husbands, then not much hope for a sincere relationship for the Young Farang Bucks either then, eh?

But of course you wouldn't be that cynical? would you?

  8. Come on many of us know people who abuse the system in the UK.

I know of a guy in Thailand who collects disability allowance, he uses an address in Europe, gets his friends there to send him the documentation, to sign, he fills it out, sends it back to his friends, and they send it to the UK. His Bank send him the allowance when it gets paid into his account, part of it stays there. Disability allowance is only payable in EU Countries.

But people in the UK abuse the system too, my friend had never worked since leaving school, he claimed he had loads of injuries that stopped him from working, he gets the letters from a doctor to help him. He gets loads of benefit, and was happy fixing cars for his friends in the drive way of his council house (paid for by the DHSS), when the inspectors came around he told them he was just informing his friend on what he needed to do to repair the car, and would not undertake the repairs by himself. As soon as the inspectors left he was fixing the car, he lives with my Aunt, who has never worked since leaving school, another one who claims everything, but a single mother of 2 (44 years old).

If the DHSS or whatever it is called now really wanted to check they could and it would save a lot of money. And a lot of people would be either working or in jail for Fraud.

If they brought out a "squeal on your mates" line, maybe a few people would be caught, but I doubt it.

Thats been done already for at least 8 years, and they advertise the squeal line "Hotline" on prime time TV in the UK.

last year alone they nabbed over 35,000 fraudsters.

Part of the Department of Works and Pensions, personally even though they should be reported for what is theft, and I know some who are milking the system, from Thailand.

But somehow I can't find it in me to shop them, especially as they have Wive's and Children, who would be the real ones' to suffer.

How many of us,hand on heart could say they would not cheat the system? even if it meant their families would collapse into Poverty??????

I've got no sympathy for the Singles in Thailand, and their bogus illnesses, and false claims, doing the same though, just because they want a free... (paid for by the UK taxpayer)...Extended/Permanent Holiday they never worked for.

Their Motto is: ................"Its not if we catch you,its when"must be Scary for some, living under that threat hanging over them!

  9. Theyre charging more people then ever back in Blighty, i recently read 1 in 3 males have a criminal record .... no one on here though we're all righteous saints.rolleyes.gif

As usual your post requires some lacking evidence!

Well dont believe it then and ignore it, but its good to know some fool is scrutinizing all my posts, very flattering.

But here you go brains a quick google search will do it. Google - "UK 1 in 3 males have a criminal record"

    http://news.bbc.co.u...tics/354157.stm

Thank you for providing,a link, the contents of which would involve a detailed analytical breakdown.

Hardly anything to do with "Harbouring Fugitives"in Thailand though, which is what the thread is all about.

  10. Transam's excellent Thread : entitled "For You That Knock Old Guys With Young Women"is still open, and very popular.

Some of the answers given would no doubt help, to ease your mind.

Personally, I dont think there is a definitive answer to your question,

were you to date, or marry someone your own age,who could say if it would work out or not?

Give it your best shot, sod the rest, and see what happens.

And the very best of Luck!

  11. One can only hope that this result is a general indication that the Red Shirt Madness is over!

Don't be a tit. It's Surat Thani, a corrupt old style Democrat seat.I'm just surprised PTP got nearly 22,000 votes there

By all means put on a brave face if you must,

Fact is the Red Shirts and Supporters have little or no chance of winning any future National Election!

  12. Then get your facts straight

The lower house of Parliament Wednesday approved a measure increasing the minimum retirement age from 60 to 62, and the minimum age to receive a full pension from 65 to 67.

Good! that will bring them in line with the UK Pensionable age,of 65 to recieve a full pension, and projected new age of retirement to 67.
