  1. That is the time now....read about Russia and Ukraine forum....both sides are full of bloodlust and no one wants peace. It is said all 4 generations or 80 years when the last big war is so far away that noone alive can remember it. No matter who and what and how unfair....please only verbal battles
  2. Read the history of both Myanmar and Thailand.....Thailand has every 10 year some new fantastic party and than a coup, most of the time without blood and the few bloody times it was very localized. And Myanmar has a lot different ethnics that don't like each other. Can't compare them.
  3. ????I remember busy stressful day in office I hunt urgently to clinic in the full heat walking urgently. They sit me on a chair that did not allow me to sit comfortable and lean back there take the pressure and tell me I am on the edge on what is still normal and I should watch it????....yesyes...ignoring her.
  4. My guess always was that they use it only to see if there is something extreme that needs attention...dangerous low or high blood pressure......
  5. And that was good as Prayut got most of the votes in that election....Now someone else got most votes...
  6. Anutin can only with a coalition....which means PTP which means the red shirts. So nothing will explode. But it will look very bad
  7. yearly work permit in the hospital reads always 10 points lower than in the small clinic. Could be coincident or just one is not calibrated
  8. You don't need a democratic elected senate because than it is not different than the parliament. You can save the costs. You can select them somehow different...like every former PM/Minister/Head of Supreme court gets a seat...so you have elderly wise people. Or better you drop it complete. Military appointed is just not OK
  9. Me....I thought that is too obvious and so they don't do that.
  10. And if that does not work, they'll stay close behind the PM to be ready with the knife to backstab when there is an opportunity.
  11. I was almost never at a doctor all my life, so I have no experience, but if I pay (different than with the healthcare in my country which is state organized) wouldn't I have to agree on what is done and what not? I couldn't tell anything for a heart surgery, but at a bladder infection I know that I don't have dengue....and don't need the test....But I always wonder why they take my blood pressure when I have some metal part in my foot (had that recently and couldn't see it to pull it out)
  12. But how can you select the doctors? I can read where they have studied, but that doesn't mean much for a simple easy dental thing. Google reviews shows the hospital not a specific doc. And might brake the law in Thailand if claim some doc did wrong.
  13. When I was in a other hospital (not Bangkok H) for my work permit health thing, they tried to sell me something as well. Wanted too much to sell me blood pressure medicine.....that seems to be possible to sale on everyone >50. But I do endurance sports and my blood pressure is like out of the medical guidebook. If this did not work, they tried to sell me vaccine. It get a bit too commercial...
  14. China is Thailands biggest businesspartner, why would you make them an enemy and loose business? Thailand has big exports to China. I am all for shaking up the old laws that are out of time since 50 years, but liberal and progressive usually means hard left, not that was liberal meant 20 years ago. And I rather take conservative dinosaurs over the political correct nanny state with high taxes and tons of regulations. I prefer as little government as possible. If MF makes a slim government and cancels the old laws than I am all for it....but if it goes the European way + being an American vassal than I rather have the dinos
  15. Someone had the idea: The senators block it. Than PTP comes and takes over and makes Thaksins daugther premier without MFP, but support of most of the other parties. And in exchange Thaksin can come home.....First it sounded more like a weird idea but at the end it is Thailand everything is possible. And while MFP might buy some senators on the other side the opposition may buy some of the coalition members and reduce the votes.
  16. ??? Because Thailand is neither an absolute Monarchy nor a Theocracy. Within the framework the people decide with elections. But they can't vote to change Thailand in a communist peoples republic or an Islamic republic. That is not democratic, but pretty much the same in every country. Most countries can't change the fundamentals of their constitution without a revolution or coup.
  17. 1 billion that is 1000 Million Baht.....I guess every serious politician who was a longer time in power in Thailand has stolen that...not really a big number. I would be surprised if someone didn't do that. As the Russian salesguy for fighter airplanes once said in an interview.....10% for the decision maker is always no matter what country, what seller or what buyer the international standard. For civilian airplanes from Boeing and Airbus it is 5 and 7% (I can't remember which is the 5 and which the 7) for the decision maker. If you don't have a billion in 8 years you made something seriously wrong. Or from the other side...where does the money come from that all parties hand out for vote buying?
  18. Previously CP had the power to make or destroy governments but mostly kept out of it and handed out money to every party.
  19. Wow....that is a big thing.....
  20. No no no....missunderstanding I was before at Asavanant, always happy there. My dentist there changed to Bangkok Hospital and I want to keep the person not the place. My wife was at a local place here which was strange and bad.....but her bad experience enforced my idea to keep the dentist (person not place) I know and trust and don't try a new person. Asavanant was always good...no complain there
  21. Which has huge investments in China. They sure don't like an anti China politics
  22. Thanks....my wife just had a deep cleaning, which resulted in massive pain in one teeth and a loose other one (that may had an issue before) and afterwards the doctor told her best is to take all teeth out (beside these 2 all others are healthy) and replace them with implants as it is more beautiful...... That experience prevents me from going to some random place and want to go to a doc that I know already. Before I was at Asavanant and always happy there.
  23. Kind of impressive until I thought that I pay for it and that they overcharge me, else they wouldn't have the money to build something like that. Than I read that people felt overcharged. But from other departments not dental....so I started to worry
  24. Yes Bangkok...they gave me this: BHQ Dental Center Dental Department (2nd Floor, N Building) I didn't know that there is a Bangkok Hospital outside Bangkok....(But googled it, now I know)
