  1. A corrected list:

    0 - 150,000 (2008 onwards) Exempt

    150,001 - 500,000 10%

    500,001 - 1,000,000 20%

    1,000,001 - 4,000,000 30%

    4,000,001 and over 37%

    Source: Thai Revenue Office

Thanks for the correction, I'll update my files accordingly! Bottom line is that Thailand has really quite low taxation, i.e. maximum of 37%, and that only for income over 4,000,000 baht/year. Also, there is no capital gains tax in Thailand.

Which is how the rich accumulate their wealth ...... and pay no taxes on it.

  2. Mr. Benchmark,

from your above post # 79

"My recommendation to you is Royal Cliff garden Condominium. For around 14M or 15 M you can find a good unit now. The prices in this building were much higher few years ago. One of the few buildings in Pattaya over the last few years retained it's value and rental potential."

Can you rewrite this for me. The two sentences should not be together. I think that you are stating that the building is in a good state of repair, well-maintained, good occupancy, etc., correct?

  3. On my computer, I have

    Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1

    1.1 Hotfix

    2.0 Service Pack 183 MB

    3.0 Service Pack 2 169 MB

    3.5 SP1 28MB

    CAN I DELETE THE 1.1, 1.1 HOTFIX AND 2.0?

SAVING ONLY THE 3.0 AND THE 3.5 ?

    next .....

Deleting Windows Live Essentials 53.77MB ?

To my knowledge, I do not have any need for it.

I do not use Outlook or Outlook Express if that matters.

  4. Thanks. The cops go nuts over anything.

What about using a CBR 150 or a Sonic muffler. These, I would guess, allow more through flow, but dot not sound appreciably louder.

    What do you think?

    And, where would you suggest?

Also, in order to appear standard, what about removing some of the baffles from the muffler instead? Just a little bit, or am I wasting time and asking for trouble.

  5. A friend of mine was loking for the bike you described, and changed his mind about it.

I think it is a GTO, or GT something.

These bikes are very mature, to say the least. NO matter how appealing they may be to you, it would be in your best interests to look at the new Yahaha model which looks similar to it.

These bikes are tough, as they are still running, but do you really want a bike which has at least 10 years on the speedo performed in Bkk traffic?

  6. Although you have been watching building in your homeland for many years, here you would make a lot of assumptions that would make perfect sense in your home country. You would never think to check something that there is no question about, but years down the road, after you have found a problem, you would think "How on earth would someone actually do or not do that?"

A half built structure is difficult to survey, especially one which has been 1/2 built here. Then, once you add to it the locals who will perform the second 1/2 of the building, and their not being bothered by any work that the first builders performed, then you see what problems will be covered over.

I built a house and made 40% on it in one year. I would never do it again. It is an incredible amount of work watching everything being done.

Look for someland which is bare and the owner needs to sell it. Or, simply find a house that is completed that the owner needs to sell quickly due to financial problems overseas. That would be a lot better than buying a partially built house.

    Best of luck to you.

  7. I have seen a wide variety of Nescafe coffee products here, but never powdered iced tea in a jar.

Any ideas where I might find it? It must be cheaper than buying it by the can, and a lot lighter.

Other powdered iced teas would be fine as well.

    Thanks

  8. Thanks. What would a real one cost? And, where would I find one? More important, is a super exhaust worth the cost versus the gains received.

The bike was 20,000. The motor (150 bore, can, valves, etc.) 4500. Carb = 2200

I am OK with an exhaust CBR or Sonic, how much? 1200 or so, and if 3,000 woudld be a big improvement, OK, but 15,000 for the Leovince...... I was surprised, to say the least.

I think the Sonic or CBR pipe and exhaust may be the most protical way to go about it

    Thanks for everyone's advice

  9. Pizza, Pizza at the Avenue – located under Shennagans

Poster: Avoid Pizza Pizza at all costs. Almost nothing to eat, eith crust or toppings, and expensive. There is a Pizza Pizza thread where the place is given thumbs down by poster after poster.

May they go out of business soon so that no one is ripped off by them thinking that they will actually receive something to eat in a pizza parlor. You would think they are serving an appetizer and it is the entire pizza.
