  1. On my last trip to PP three months ago, I turned in my passport and tourist visa application on Monday morning. I was told that I could not have my visa the next day, Tuesday. I informed the lady that I had a flight the next day, and she was kind enough to get me my visa on Tuesday afternoon.

She said that the standard now is.....

Turn in your passport on the morning of day X, receive your pasport back in the afternoon of day X +2.

I am flying to PP on Sunday Oct 4, and will turn in my passport on Monay morning, and plan to pick it up on Wednesday afternoon, and rush to the airport for the AirAsia flight back to Bkk.

  2. My friend needs to get a small auto for his little one.

She can ride a Wave, auto clutch, but she is not the largest of youg women, and would like one of the smaller autos.

    So, which one is it?

    Fino, Mio, Click, Icon, etc?

    Advantages and disadvantages of each.

The bike will be bought new.

    What do you think?

  3. I can provide you with only some informatiuon about my situation, as I do not know the laws.

I wsa given the difference between the work that was carried out and the work that he was paid for, and then that was negotiated down a bit, as I got tired of speaking Thai. On hind site, I would sit it out longer.

The periodd of time that he was late in my case was only a couple or a few months, so I could not claim loss of rent or anything like that. Or, at least I could not see myself claiming that.

I DO NOT KNOW, but you may be able to make a claim like that only if you can show full payment. A question for your lawyer.

    Best of luck.

  4. I sued my Thai builder and won in court and have collected the initial payment and more monthly payments.

You can sue, win and collect.

If he has not been on site for one year, then I would bet your lawyer would be able to show that he has abandoned the site and his work. In your contract, there are more than likely milestones and he is to complete certain parts of the project on those dates. If he has not completed each part of the building on the requireed dates, he is in breach of the contract. Have your lawyer send him a letter noting that he is behind schedule and asking him to make contact with you, and get on schedule. If he does not make contact and get on schedule, then he has abandoned the project. Your lawyer would know how long he is able to stay away from a project before he has abandoned his responsibilities in the contract.

Two years past due, and not been there in one year.

I would have expected that a house build would not be more than one year.

Mine was about 7 months, but it was a small house.

Send him a letter, he does not make contact and have men on site, file the case.

You will be in court in about 4 months, and he will be surprised, if he shows. People think that they will never be taken to court over their actions. My Thai builder could not believe that a foreigner had him in court. He had ripped off many Thais as well, including his construction supervisor, the window installer, electrician, etc.

If he has a company, and your contract is with the company, but you have at any time made payments to him, his account, etc., then make sure to sue him as well as the company. That way, you can go after his assets besides the company's. It is possible that the company has no assets, and has closed, and then you will have difficulties getting any money. If it has no assets, but has not closed, have someone see where the owners goes to view construction, and then your lawyer will follow up with that customer and get the court to become involved in payments for the job.

Foreigners become real scared when facing legal difficulties. They think they can get away with it for a long time, but then someone like you arrives and gets even a little.

I think a major Bangkok law firm would be a little too expensive for a 600,000 case.

Are you in Bkk? If you are in Pattaya, you can message me if you would like, and I can get you in contact with my lawyer who did a good job for me.

  5. TO THE POSTER

Your note: "Or should we only be with fat women?" suggests that there is something wrong with fat women. But, it does not appear to be saying there is something wrong with women. So, in it's context, you give the impression that there is something wrong with fat. If there is something wrong with fat, then you have answered your own post.

no no no lol. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with people who are fat. What I assume from other peoples posts are that fat people are only supposed to be with people of the same physical build. lol

I understand that in any relationship, women would rather have a little financial security even if it means giving up a little on the physical appearance. Really, what woman would honestly want to start a relationship/family with someone who doesn't have a job? :)

Thank you for the clarification. We are lucky to be here, for even those of us who are only average looking can attract someone who would make heads turn back home.

  6. You are making the assumption that HE DID DO SOMETHING TO INVESTIGATE AS TO WHO HIT THE AUSSIE OR THAT THE TOURIST POLICE DID PERFORM AN INVESTIGATION but it was not included in the video, but you have not provided any proof to support your statement.

Do you have a complete video, unedited to support your claims? Have you learned of something additional? If so, then please post it for all to see. Or are you only guessing or being creative?

We saw Howard did not perform any function to find out about who hit the Aussie, but instead asked "Why this was done to him?"

Being drunk and obnoxious is not a good enough reason to need what appears to be some stitches in one's head.

My statement is based upon what I saw, while yours is based upon what you guessed.

  7. "The AER [Treaty of Amity] covers over 1,000 U.S. businesses in Thailand. Total U.S. investment in Thailand is about $20 billion." http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/20...0031020-27.html

    20B and only 1,000 businesses

That is 20M each, although it will vary somewhat

How much do you expect to invest into your school?

It might be too small to make it worth all of the rules, requirements, paperwok, lawyer's fees, etc.

I hope all the best for you.

Most everyone just forms companies 49/51 or 34/66 and then has share sales papers from all of the other shareholders who have not really made any investments.

  8. Howards' Group.

I think he made himself look worse here than he normally does elsewhere.

He never once did anything to find out about the people responsible for the tourist's (drunken or not) injuries.

He never made contact with the real tourist police to apprehend and questions those responsible for the Auussie's injuries.

He did not perform the duties of a policeman, and for that reason, what is his purpose?

As you all can see I don't post much on here, but I do a lot of reading. I find something hard to understand that seems to be a "big" subject of discussion. Why do people make the assumption that because a man is fat he should not be with a Thai woman or that the Thai woman would not want to be with a fat guy unless it is for of money??? You know, this is not just Thai women either. When people anywhere around the world see a beautiful woman with an over weight man they assume she is only in it for money. So, I guess men who do not fit the "average" should not be with any woman? Or, should we only be with fat women? I would also guess that because we do not fit the "average", we have no personality or no charm or intelligence or.....what is it, really? So people are only supposed to fall in love based on physical appearance? I'm just looking for a little help in understanding some people's posts. It's not just on this site I read over on Bangkok Post as well and it just blows my mind the things I read. Regardless of what some of yall think, people CAN connect in other ways than just physically. My wife has explained to me time and time again that she has been with the "sexy" man type, and they all are SHIT! Ego's bigger than Texas, don't treat their women with any kind of respect. At any rate, like I said before, I'm just looking for a little help in understanding other people's posts..........

  10. I know another girl (26) who had the same problem.

She usually has no problems, but other times she has difficulties breathing.

She takes some medication for the problem, and it is usually pretty helpful.

It is more than likely that your mother-in-law has had this problem for a long time, although it may be worse now than before.

My certainly non-professional suggestion, is to go to the best hospital in the province, and then seek medication for the problem while you are sorting out which hospital is best for an operation.

I am unable to contact the girl who takes medication for the problem now. If I do make contact with her, I will post the name of the medication.

This is some more info on it.

    http://kidshealth.org/parent/medical/heart/vsd.html

I will try to locate the girl with the problem

  11. One thing you can do is apply for a visa while in the UK. If you are on a black list (meaning that you have had some marks against you hear, maybe through a court notice), you will be stopped prior to getting the visa, while in the UK instead of in Swampy.

I have been in and out of the police station, and am not aware of seeing one complaint filed and then the information being available throughout the country. It is a Royal Thai Police Department, but I have not seen the data transferred to all offices in any meaningful manner. This does not mean I am right, but it is what I have seen.

If this happened not too long ago, why not go to the PI, and then try Thailand on the next trip. It is no fun looking over your shoulder now when you are worried about it.

  12. In Pattaya, a friend of mine just had a 150 bore-out on his 5-year old Honda Wave 125 for 1,500 baht. It made a big difference, even though the bike ran just fine before! I belive that larger jets are usually put into the carburator as well.

I know that you can get 190 or so kits for the likes of the Nouvo and the KSR's but can you get them for Honad waves / dreams?

Failing that anyone know where a scrappy is that I can get a cbr 150 engine etc from?

    Thanks

Getting back to the original question: does anyone know where bike scrappies are in Bangkok. I am also after an old engine; an NSR150 one. I need the clutch cover and oil pump, but having a whole engine would be useful for spares. Any NSR will do :)

  13. If you really need to have a bike in the 650 size, great, have a super time!!! and do not bother with the below....

But, if you think for a moment, that almost all of your driving will be in the city, and that you will not really be taking that many 120+KM/hr long drives, then do consider a Wave.

You can bore out the 125cc to 150cc for about 1500 baht.

You can change the front sprocket up one tooth, or buy a rear sprocket with fewer teeth for a couple of hundred baht to increase your top speed. Change the exhaust for 1500 and you are on your way to experiencing 100KM cruises.

You can buy a two year old 125 Wave for only 25,000, and with all of the above thrown in, less than another 3,000.

Repairs are very easy, and super cheap. Resale is very easy as well.

    best of luck to you
