Why do bars allow young girls (>=16) to work in the bars? It's simple, because many (most?) guys who visit bars want young and innocent girls. That's why the owners employ them. It's not really that difficult to understand. I know this because I know a couple of bar owners. That is reality in Thailand. And obviously the police also know what's on.

Girls 16 and older were not unusual in farang tourist areas like Pattaya and in Bangkok. I.e. in Long Gun the 16-year-old naked girls were the first girls anybody saw who entered the place. Nobody even tried to hide it. The situation only became stricter in the last couple of years. A friend recently met a girl in Nana. She told him she is 18. A few weeks later he didn't see her in the bar anymore but one day he saw her on the street. She explained to him that now Nana is stricter, and she can't work there anymore. Now she works in Soi Cowboy. Often the parents know what is going on. The girls send money to the parents. And they parents know how the girls make that money. Obviously in a perfect world this shouldn't happen. Parents should take care of their children. But in reality many Thai people want money and if they see an opportunity to make a lot of money then they use that opportunity. The parents know, the neighbors know, and nobody cares. Many young girls use fake ID cards or ID cards from their elder sisters. Everybody knows, nobody cares. TiT.

Why did nobody mention if the children were 17 years old or 10 or whatever? Many (most?) 17 year old Thai girls have sex. And it is not obvious to see their age. And sometimes they use the ID card from the big sister (at least that was the case some time ago). While this is illegal it is still something completely different then pimping pre puberty children. So what happened?

Which part of "many Thai workers" don't you understand? I didn't write "Thai workers" or "all Thai workers". If you know many Thai workers who do precision work, then it seems we live in very different parts of the country.

I ordered many times from JIB and I never had any problems. Today I received an email from them with this warning. เตือนภัย อย่าหลงเชื่อบุคคลแอบอ้าง (jib.co.th) I publish this here, so people are aware of this problem. I would buy from them again.

Court summons for airbnb review
OneMoreFarang replied to mr_lob's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you have pictures and the situation looks really bad, then maybe tell your guest that you think about publishing those pictures. Like: Lawyer X visited me and that is how he left the place. Maybe he is afraid of that. This is just my opinion, I have no legal knowledge about the situation. -
What's going on with Major Ekamai (Major Cineplex Sukhumvit)?

Yes, I saw the Starbucks. But I didn't see Swenson's anymore. And a place like that without Swenson's is obviously unacceptable. And I guess Swenson's didn't run out of money. So the fact that they are not in there anymore is a bad sign that they don't have much hope for that place anymore - at least that is the way I interpret the situation. -
British Teacher Who Allegedly Molested a Minor arrested in Thailand
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
If that was the case, then he obviously should be punished. But then there are all those Thai teenagers who work in bars because their families want money. And the families seem to be comfortable when their daughters have everyday sex with different guys - as long as the money flows. But then, maybe the daughter decides she wants to stay only with one guy and have only sex with one guy. And maybe that one guy does not want to give lots of money to the family. And then that is obviously suddenly a big problem. Give us money or we go to the police because you have sex with our innocent daughter... Unfortunately, that seems to happen often in Thailand. But back to the case: If the guy is guilty, then punish him. -
Ok, you fitted 96 more ACs then I did - or maybe more. Before I did that, I looked at many articles about that issue on the internet. And above is what I found. I remember there was also some explanation why it shouldn't be done with an AC on each side of the room facing each other. I have too little experience to know. I just share what I read many times.

Obviously most of us wouldn't want to see naked pictures of us on the internet. But fake naked pictures where it is known that they are fake? What's the point. I didn't see any of those controversial Taylor Swift nudes. But I read at least 10 headlines about those pictures. So if I would even see a naked picture of "her", I would know instantly that that is not her. It's a fake. And then? Maybe I would think that the unknown body looks good or bad or whatever. But I wouldn't think that about Taylor Swift, because I know it's not her. As far as I am concerned it doesn't make any sense. Taylor Swift would want to see the real person. And guys who are horny and want to see a sexy body don't really care if the head is from person A or B.

With some ACs, i.e. from Daikin, they have a sensor build in. The user can select if the AC should spread the cold air to everywhere, or only concentrated on one human (sensor) or away from that one human.

According to many "experts" that is bad advice. https://gharpedia.com/blog/best-location-wall-mounted-air-conditioning-unit/

My real-world experience suggest 24k BTU. About the windows: I have a south facing wall which is 90% window. This in in my case no problem, the sun is not shining directly into those windows. It seems in Thailand the west facing windows (and maybe east) are the problem. There the sun shines right into the window in the (late) afternoon.

Man dies in high-speed motorcycle crash on Phuket road
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Yes, you are right. My comment was about the usage of the term high speed. Personally, I wouldn't use that for maybe anything under 130km/h or something like that. But yes, it's possible to get killed with 30km/h - even if that is not high speed. -
Correct. But even if you hire expensive professionals don't expect that all of them or even the majority of them do great jobs. And sometimes it seems to be impossible to find any competent and reliable professionals in Thailand, even when people are willing to pay a lot of money. Recently I saw this video, not from Thailand. I found it interesting.

Teen dies in Bangkok after motorcycle chase ends in horror crash
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It was on the outskirts of a big city in Europe in a country where people obey most traffic rules and other drivers and riders can mostly rely on the fact that the others follow the rules. Obviously very different from Thailand. -
Teen dies in Bangkok after motorcycle chase ends in horror crash

Most of the time I ride a bike for convenience. Excitement not so much anymore. But when I was young 90% was for the excitement and only a little was necessary riding.
