I didn't see Tim Cook together with Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg at Trump's party. Obviously, Trump can't accept that Cook didn't kiss his feet.

I am sure some smart and honorable people would want that job if voters would vote for smart and honorable people. But it seems in the USA and many other countries voters vote again and again for crooks with a big mouth.

I read a lot about him. And I read it from different sources. I don't really have to listen to him in person to know that he made stupid comments about Greenland, Panama, Canada, to name just a few. Then the fact that he pardoned all those Jan-6 people, even when they attacked police officers. There are so many bad things which Trump does all the time which we know by just following the news. And even his MAGA fans don't deny that he does all those things. But for whatever mysterious reasons they think what he does makes sense or is funny or whatever.

Obviously more posts might bring more positive reactions. But there are some people here who don't get positive reactions, even when they post all the time. Personally, I like when people agree with me. But if they don't agree, and best case write why not, then that is also fine with me.' The idea is conversation, and obviously for conversation we need different standpoints.

I do the same. But actually, it isn't really Thai. We understand each other because we talk with each other since many years. But if other farangs listen or Thais listen then they often don't understand so much, because it isn't Thai and it isn't English.

You could buy a book. Or you could just (try to) talk with the locals. Maybe visit a school nearby and ask them if someone wants to help you to improve your Thai. I would be surprised if you won't find anybody.

Instead of opening a new thread, how do you measure your air quality? I have two MI Air Purifier; one is maybe 5 years old and the other maybe 3 years old. They show different AQI levels. Now I cleaned the old one thoroughly, but it still shows better AQI values then the new one. I don't know which one is correct, probably both are not correct. Does anybody of you use AQI or CO2 or other air quality sensors? Are they certified to show correct values? How do you know how good or bad your air quality is?

Really? I think with language skills it's relatively easy. Do I understand everything Thai people say? Can I reply in Thai so that they understand me? Personally, I am perfectly able to order somtam and tell them if they should all a little sugar. I am also perfectly able to tell the taxi driver to go left or right. But this would not convince me that my Thai is perfect. I think many of us have a pretty good idea about our language skills.

I wonder how long it will take before some American judge explains to Trump that he has no right to do what he wants to do. Are there still any judges in that country who have enough spine to explain that to the idiot?

Really, do you read those? 90% of the time I ignore them. I know the air quality is bad and lots of accidents happen. And I can't do anything about it. Case closed.

Sure, and 99% of the time I ignore them. Because that is the whole point of the ignore list, that I don't see comments from people which I don't want to see.

I get a notification if someone replies to my post, like everybody else. And I don't get a notification if that person is on my ignore list. I don't see it and they don't get a reply from me. Win/win.

That is one of those problems. We all need some time to learn to differentiate between "good and bad" information. Unfortunately, many young people fall for bad information because they haven't learnt yet to see the difference. And even for mature people with experience it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference.

I watch YouTube, and obviously I look at the source and the person. I.e. I watch Glenn Greenwald and Rory Steward on YouTube, and not just sound bites but long conversations. I also watch some Lex Fridman interviews. I listen and I try to learn. Do I believe everything they say? No. Do I agree with everything they say? No. But they are often interesting sources for information. Do you think there is something wrong with this?

They should have put Trump on a small screen, maybe next to the toilets. Let him talk.

It makes a difference. If I would ignore you then I would not have seen your post and I would not have reacted to your post, and you would not have reacted to my post because I would not have written it. 😉

Everybody who wants democracy should support "independent inspectors". If Trump can show that they didn't do their job, then obviously he should fire them. And then he should make sure he hires new independent inspectors, and not just people who rubberstamp Trump's action.
