  1. Have you asked all sane women in this world? Some time ago I knew a pretty young woman who visited Morocco. While she was there she covered herself according to the local rules. And she liked it. She told me she though it was comfortable that she could walk around without anybody staring at her. And she was used to those stares from the western world. Why not leave it up to the women how they want to dress?
  2. Which assumptions? Do you really need more evidence to understand that Trump is a traitor?
  3. It's sad the Trump supporters blame everybody else. Just assume for a moment all people in the committee would hate Trump. Does that make the evidence irrelevant? I know some people are too stupid to recognize the truth or evidence, but that are not so many people. Lots of people in American and in this forum willfully ignore evidence. And they accept that Trump is above the laws and the constitution. Even if you love Trump and his politics it should not be so difficult to understand that he is a criminal. Why don't you vote for another politician with similar politics to Trump who is not a criminal?
  4. Is it now a question of asking the people if crimes should be prosecuted? He should have been arrested on the way out of the White House. And obviously all his spineless supporters who know the truth but who want more power and ignore the constitution should also be in jail. Do Americans think their problems can be solved if the biggest criminals run around free? What a strange country.
  5. How much should we bet that the authorities know who is responsible? It's called organized crime and it works perfect when the authorities are part of the organization.
  6. Thanks, it's always helpful to know the right terms to search for. Google brings up many links and pictures, this is one of them: https://www.buildmagazine.org.nz/index.php/articles/show/penetrations-through-existing-walls
  7. Another newbie who doesn't accept that things are different in other cultures.
  8. I am sure from his point of view he wanted to help her: I honk my horn so that you pay attention. You obviously didn't see me coming. Get out of the way! (I am sure that is the drivers perception, it is not my perception)
  9. It seems they are smart. They accept reality that life for bicycle riders in Thailand is dangerous. And the smart way is to avoid excessive danger. It doesn't really matter why there is no respect. There is no respect. That's reality. And better accept that or it may cost your life! What's the point of having a few seconds time to think "but I had the right of way" before you die?
  10. That reminds me of the question of my Thai gf yesterday: Why are farangs so stupid riding bicycles in Thailand? I tried to explain to her that many of those bicycle riders are the rulers of the roads back home. Back home every driver is scared of them because if there is an accident then the driver will be blamed why he injured/killed those innocent bicycle riders. And then those riders come to Thailand with that attitude. Some of them realize early enough that the rules in Thailand are different. And some still think they are the rulers of the roads - until it is too late. RIP
  11. Maybe you have only dated the wrong women. Because I am sure you know that some women are ready for full action within minutes. Many of them will never have learned that there is anything between "how much" and let's do it. And kissing needs romantic feelings (at least that is my experience)...
  12. As I mentioned earlier, I want cable trays and ceiling tiles to make it easy to add cables, lights, sensors for home automation, etc. Sure there are nice looking ceilings like in your pictures. But for how long? If I want an extra light at the ceiling somewhere, headache. If the aircon guy come and need to install a new aircon with new pipes, big headache, etc. I saw it myself in my rented apartment how difficult that is. And recently a friend needed work on his cables under the ceiling - open ceiling and have headache to get it nice again. Ceiling tiles are definitely nothing for a designer home. But I don't have a designer home and I don't want a designer home. I want a practical home which looks nice enough for me and my gf. And I don't want any headache with complicated maintenance.
  13. Which age? And why? I know many people who have kids who are adults by now. And many are not happy with their kids and I am pretty sure many kids are not happy with their parents. In average it seems that there are few happy parent/(adult) kids relationships.
  14. I have no kids and I don't want any kids. So I won't have a family life when I am old. I see very few people who enjoy life after they are maybe 80 years old - with exceptions. I live my life here and now. I do what I like to do, eat, drink, whatever. If I would be die in 5 minutes and I could review my life I could say I had fun until the end.
  15. This is my favorite quote about this topic: Jack Nightingale in Stephen Leather’s Nightmare Nightingale blew smoke up at the sky. ‘Everybody dies,’ he said. ‘Life is a zero sum game. The best you can do is to enjoy yourself as you go along.’ ‘But smoking shortens your life.’ ‘Maybe. But it only takes the years from the end of your life. Not the beginning or the middle.’ Jenny looked at him, confused. ‘I have absolutely no idea what you mean.’ Nightingale took another drag on his cigarette before continuing. ‘Say I live until I’m seventy-five without smoking. And say I die at seventy if I do smoke. I lose five years. But really, Jenny, what am I going to be doing during those five years? Sitting in a bedsit somewhere watching the football, assuming I’ve enough of a pension to be able to afford Sky Sport?
  16. Thanks It will be a complete new installation of everything. Most of the old pipes and cables are gone already.
  17. 2m long 4x4cm slotted duct cost about 260THB at HomePro. I can live with that, even if it would be double the amount for biggest size. As far as I see cable trays are much more expensive or maybe I didn't find a good supplier yet. I.e. stainless steel, 3m long 6x6cm for 1825 THB here https://th.rs-online.com/web/p/cable-trays/2216326 But this is still an amount I can live with. Not cheap, but I plan to install them only once in my lifetime.
  18. I think about a good way close all opening in all walls in my condominium. Currently when pipes go from one room to another or to outside of the building or outside of the unit (to the common area) then it seems there is often just a hole in the wall (below the false ceiling). And then one or more pipes are put through that hole. And if there is need for a another pipe or another cable then that is somehow squeezed through the existing holes or the hole is made bigger or a new hole is created. Then it looks i.e. like this. (continued below the picture) This obviously "does the job" but it also possibly allows rats to walk through those holes. And it certainly allows sound to travel in and out of the room. I think it would be good to have no open holes. That should prevent rats and it should be a good noise barrier. But just closing everything with cement is probably not a good solution because maybe pipes or cables have to be replaced. A good example of necessary maintenance is the installation of a new air-con with new pipes and cables. Now, with my limited DIY skills, I think how to best solve this problem. It is unlikely that I will actually do this job by myself, but I thought this is the best section in this forum to ask. So what came to my mind are pipes in pipes. Let's say i.e. the AC pipes need a 4cm hole. So I think about putting i.e. a 6cm pipe in the wall. The gaps between that pipe and the wall will be closed with cement. And then the AC pipes could be installed through that 6cm pipe. And after the AC pipes are installed then the air gaps between the 4cm AC pipes and the 6cm outside pipe could be closed i.e. with PU-foam. And in case someone has to remove those AC pipes a few years later then the PU-foam has to be removed and then the existing 6cm pipe is available again and a new pipe can be installed and then the gaps can be closed again. Is that a realistic solution? Is this commonly used or just my idea? What do others do to close holes but make sure future maintenance is not too difficult? I found this picture on the internet. It doesn't exactly show what I have in mind but I think it shows the principle. What do you think?
  19. The guardian are experts in IT or investing? No, the Guardian journalists are in general no crypto specialist. And of course they might be wrong. But for something like crypto I think it is good to try to look at the big picture like banking, bankers, existing and not existing regulations, previous highs and lows, etc. I think we can all agree that money doesn't come out of nothing. So in general some people will win and others will lose. And looking at the past with bankers and investors it it pretty clear who usually wins and who loses. Will bankers and the controlling people behind crypto tell us the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? Or is is more likely that they see crypto from their point of view like: We will make a lot of money if enough stupid suckers put their money into this.
  20. You could ask one of the nurses over there is she or one of her colleagues have a day off at that time and want to make some extra money.
