How do you know if the corruption is worse? Some international index? Or your gut feeling? I don't know if it is worse. But I remember the times when Thaksin was officially in charge and there was basically everyday news about some shady deal with him involved. It was almost guaranteed to open the newspaper and see another of those articles (yes, at that time I read newspapers). I don't know how corrupt the current government is, but apart from all those watches it is not so obvious - at least for me. And obviously life is now peaceful without all those red shirts on the streets.

I don't know the details, but with Trump and all his businesses they probably need 10 or 100 times the amount of people compared to the others. That is no reason not to audit him, but it will be considerably more work.

I always wonder why Thai parents give their children long complicated names. It's almost that they wish that those children will have short and ugly nicknames.

We keep all areas which we ever occupied and call it peace. Sure, that is in theory "peace talk".

In this case I guess it will be difficult to make a problem for a political party when the unofficial leader in Thailand visits the unofficial owner of the party - because he is also her father. And as far as I know there is no law against visiting a criminal father somewhere outside of Thailand. Political parties and politicians should work for the country. They should not work for fugitive (super rich) criminals, and they should not work for foreigners. In many countries there are restrictions like that, and those restrictions make sense.

I guess I have also somewhere the receipt for the gold chain which I bought. I gave it to my Thai girlfriend years ago. I guess if I split up with her, then she has to give it back to me. She only takes care of it. After all, I paid for it. But obviously the Thai police will not understand this, they hate farangs. It's always the same it this country. /sarcasm off

In theory I agree with you. But it seems about 50% of Americans like it like that. They want MAGA and mega liars. Give them a choice and, at least in some states, they vote for the liars. What a strange country.

Legalize it and it will be pure. And the bad guys won't have any incentive to get involved, and there will be less crime and fewer dead people, and and and. And obviously it should not be advertised, and people should not be encouraged to use it.

I remember the time when you needed at least 3 new PCs within 10 years to be at least 1/2 up to date... 386, 486, Pentium... And let's not forget the Voodoo card (with 4MB RAM) - which nobody I knew could afford at that time.
