  1. Let me answer that from my subjective view. I see from time to time gay people in "my" building, maybe in coffee shops or restaurants, etc. Sometimes I talk to them just like anybody else. No problem. But then there are those who seem to promote their lifestyle. And some do that as crass as possible and as much in your face as possible. I think those people make the situation worse. It's like radical feminists or radical animal lovers etc. Somehow some of them seem to think if they just shout loud enough then they will be successful. I don't think so.
  2. One of my favorite quotes is this one: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” George Carlin
  3. If you would want to "relocate", would you really look for the "best" location? Or would you think i.e. about Cambodia or Lao (just examples) and then try to find out more about those places? I.e. Norway can be top of the best whatever list and I would never think about moving to such a cold country. Also just an example.
  4. What's the point of such best of lists? Like: what's the best car? What's the best computer? What's the best whatever? Answer: It depends on what you are looking for. There is no such thing as "the best" for all of us.
  5. Let me guess, you are an American. And maybe one of those millennials?
  6. Just ask the Thai girls. Where do they live and how much do they pay. There are lots of places available for people who don't want to spend a lot.
  7. Wat Tham Krabok (Thai: วัดถ้ำกระบอก, literally 'Temple of the Bamboo Cave') is a Buddhist temple (wat) in the Phra Phutthabat District of Saraburi Province, Thailand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat_Tham_Krabok At least many years ago it was excellent. Good luck!
  8. Correct. But it seems for some people the promotion of being gay is a lifestyle.
  9. Thanks for your great comment. I think it is a great summary about what many people think. We accept it, but we don't want to embrace their lifestyle.
  10. One of these "I know it all" comments. Somehow it's funny that there are enough farang bar owners in the streets who do that since decades. According to you they don't exist or the are all bankrupt. 555. And do mamasans keep the barfine or what do you think? And about the briefcases to be filled? Do you actually know how much they pay? Obviously I don't know the numbers from all bars but I know the numbers from some bars in Bangkok. And the payments are less than what I expected, I would describe them as reasonable.
  11. Someone should go to the police and complain about this behavior!
  12. That is an interesting way to describe what has to be done.
  13. As far as I see there is a huge difference between his official rights and his power and position. I.e. my gf told me about a drug dealer in her village who was not only a drug dealer but also otherwise a bad person. I asked her why people didn't report him to the police. Her answer was: He is the son of the village head. And that is/was end of the discussion. Like: Don't mess with the village head - even if there would be good legal reasons to do that. After all, TiT.
  14. Those are really the last people who I care about. And about studies: In principle I agree that it is a good idea to be well informed. Unfortunately the problem with studies is that almost anybody can find a study which supports what he/she thinks. I have to admit for some things I just prefer my personal experience or gut feeling or whatever you want to call it. Are all children with male/female parents in a better position than children in all same sex couples. Sure not. Is it a disadvantage for children to not have a caring mother and a caring father. I think so - even without any official study.
  15. That definitely makes breastfeeding a lot easier than with gay couples.
  16. Self employed prostitutes? So I guess if a businessman visits his hotel bar at night and picks up a girl then he can pretend that he had a 5 star drink and somehow by accident he found some company for the night. If he would have gone around the corner to pick up a girl in bar outside then he should feel like a seedy old <deleted>? Or something like that?
  17. Where exactly is the point that a bar becomes a seedy bar?
  18. You didn't ask me but I can tell you the answer from some people, including me. When people marry then they have the rights of married people. I.e. if one of them is sick in the hospital the other one can visit them and make decisions for them - because they are married. For many of us that is no problem. But then there are other rights like the right to adopt children. Many countries allow only that married couples adopt children, because they have the best interest of the children in mind. And when those adoption laws were made, many years ago, nobody even dreamed about that one day same sex couples would marry. So the laws were made with male/female couples in the mind of the lawmakers. But now some people want to redefine marriage as something else than marriage of one male and one female person. A child should have a male father and a female mother. That is optimal for children. Giving same sex couples the right to marry and to adopt children undermines the rights of children. I think that is a good reason not to allow marriage of same sex couples until all related laws are reviewed.
  19. Does the majority want slavery? No. And about equal treatment: Will I be allowed to marry my favorite twins? If not, why not? Equality and all that...
  20. The food is definitely not a reason to go there... And I guess most of the girls are in under 30 and too young for your taste. ????
  21. I don't know about Hooters wherever you come from. But in Thailand there are hot girls in Hooters. Sometime more and better than in many go-go bars. And definitely a lot younger than my friends mothers.
