Basically you are right. But did you expect this verdict from the jury in these MeToo times? Personally I was sure that she was guilty. But I was not sure at all that the jury would have the same verdict - with all jury members having the same verdict. I guess she thought she could get away with her lying because of MeToo and everybody should believe all women. But her acting was just too bad. She lied to badly that it was impossible not to see it. Imagine if she would have been a little smarter. Maybe admit directly that she didn't jet donate the money to the children and maybe a few humble words that she also made mistakes. I guess then that verdict could have been very different... Good that she is so stupid and full of herself. She ruined herself.

I saw some of the trial and I think it was obvious that she was lying all the time. And there was no prove at all that he hurt her - what she claimed. So from what I saw she was very much guilty and he was innocent. But in these MeToo times I was not so sure that the jury would vote for him. But they did. He won almost on any count. She made up the stories, she wanted to destroy him and she did it deliberately. He won. Great. But then it is fascinating/sad how some people see this trial. I read this opinion this morning and I was shocked how ignorant and one sided some people can be. The Amber Heard-Johnny Depp trial was an orgy of misogyny | Moira Donegan | The Guardian When will those feminist understand that they will never get the support from many men as long as they claim all women are always right and all men are always wrong. Even for feminists that shouldn't be so difficult to understand. Imagine a feminist would write something like this: Often women are abused but sometimes it is the other way around. Sometimes they abuse men and then they lie. We should always fight for the truth regardless of the gender of the involved people. I am sure feminist could win over lots of people if they would admit that not all men are wife beaters and not all women are innocent. But it seems many feminists are so brainwashed that that possibility never crosses their mind. Sad.

I wander how many people here really vote about political opinion. Like this is liberal politics that that is conservative. For me it looks like that family name does this person have? How is his/her father? How corrupt do I think is this or that person? For me personally the first question would be: How competent and honest is this candidate? If then more than one candidate is left then I can start thinking about possible difference in what they promise they will do.

I suggest let him select the helmet. Maybe he wants some cool color or that latest in-brand. The most important thing is that he wears a helmet at all. If you buy one for him which he doesn't really like then maybe he won't wear it - at lest when you are not looking...

Apart from the little fact that it wouldn't be enforced I wonder what smokers who own a condominium should do. Should they just decide to stop smoking? Or should they go 20 times a day to the street to smoke? Or maybe they need a "cleanroom" with special filter system in their unit so that they can smoke? I never smoked but I am realistic. Lots of (older) people do smoke. It was fashion some time ago. And most of these people can't just quit. If smoking is really so bad then don't sell cigarettes. And don't sell alcohol. And don't allow fast food and maybe no driving and no this and no that. This world is going nuts.

That could be at least 20 different problems. There is no "do this and it will work again" answer. Sorry to say it like this but with your limited computer knowledge it is more likely that you make it worse than that you will fix it. I suggest ask an expert (a real expert) to fix it. And I can tell you already that the expert will also do a lot of trial and error. If he is lucky then he guesses the first time right and he fixes the problem in 10 min. If he is not lucky then he will try 20 different possible solutions until hopefully he will find the underlying problem. There is no easy fix for this.

The poster does not specify if he has 5G mobile network in mind or 5G WiFi. This is why I pointed out that 5G <> 5G.

It is not too difficult to create something with a 3D printer, especially if someone else designed it already. One problem with 3D prints is that many things can go (a little or a lot) wrong. And then it's troubleshooting time. On a high quality printer that troubleshooting is not too difficult. On cheap printers it can be a nightmare. I like to compare it to learning to play pool. If a beginner learns on a good table with good cues then he will really learn what he does right and wrong. Because the equipment is not to blame. If a beginner tries to learn on a bad table with a bad cue then there are many reasons why things don't work. It is difficult to impossible to learn under such conditions.

Do you buy meat at local markets ?
OneMoreFarang replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't buy meet at the local fresh market. My gf buys seafood there. Most of the time it's ok. Sometimes the mussels are not so good. It seems she accepts that as a fact. I buy meet most of the time in Foodland and it seems they know what they are doing. I saw in other big well knows supermarkets that they take chicken meat out of the sterile package to dump it on ice in trays where the customers walk along (and maybe touch it and maybe it get's warm). After I saw that I will never buy meet in those places again. And then there was this well know expensive farang supermarket. The employees took cold cut out of the refrigerator and placed it on a warm table in front of the refrigerator. And in the evening I saw that they took the same items from the table and put it in the refrigerator again. What a stupid idea. I also won't buy anything like that anymore in that supermarket. -
"ATM scam" - myth or reality ?
OneMoreFarang replied to Baron Samedi's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes, I remember that from back home from a long time ago. And I remember my first trip to Thailand without ATM and with lots of cash and traveler checks. And I had a credit card at that time. Officially it was not allowed to get cash from the credit card. I found a shop owner who deducted money from my credit card and he gave me cash minus 3% commission. I was happy that I was able to get cash. -

I guess you think machines are for free. Or why else should the transfer be for free? -
"ATM scam" - myth or reality ?
OneMoreFarang replied to Baron Samedi's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Why? Let's say you go here to the ATM and you withdraw the equivalent to 500USD. So that 500USD will be withdrawn from your account i.e. in the USA. Why pays for the ATM machines? Who pays for the computers? Who pays for the software? Who pays for the data transmission? Who pays for the management of all that? Who pays when something goes wrong? IMHO 220 THB is cheap for that service. And I am sure if that kind of service (ATM, bank transfer, etc.) would cost 1,000THB then people would still use it, because they need that service. -

And your point is? That if years ago a service was free that is has to be free forever? There was also a time when people received reasonable interest on their money in the bank... -
Poor shopping experience from large furniture/home stores
OneMoreFarang replied to FarangFB's topic in General Topics
I am sure you worked out already that they want commission. And that is the only thing they care about. Last week I had a good experience by visiting the show rooms of two brands for bathroom equipment. I got my personal tour with (in each shop) a competent girl showing me the items. They knew their products and answered all my questions. That is what I will do now also for other products. Visit manufacturer showrooms and ask the experts. In one of the showrooms which I visited the girl told me she will get a commission when I buy there. Fair enough, she earned her commission. In the other showroom the girl told me they don't sell directly to customers. I should buy the products in one of the big shops (she gave me a list). And she won't get any commission, she has her salary. It seems that is one way to get advice and detailed information. -
I am no pacifist and I don't have an issue with Indian or any other nationality. But in my experience with Thailand and especially Thai males and especially groups of Thai males it is a good idea to be nice to them. I.e. honking the horn and shouting at them to get the $#$@ out of the way is not a good start. Just imagine you are in the jungle and meet a big gorilla, and imagine you could speak gorilla language, would you tell him to f#%# off? Probably not. Use the same logic in Thailand and all will be fine.

Do you really expect much change? In day to day life I don't think I ever recognized a difference after any election. I think the biggest differences I experienced happened because politicians or police decided to enforce existing laws i.e. with Purachai many years ago. Otherwise it's more or less same same - not much different.
