  1. I am renovating my apartment in Bangkok. Now I have a concrete shell and slowly I have to make up my mind what I will buy. My problem is that there are just so many choices. To get a rough overview I checked the HomePro website. There are I.e. a bathroom sinks for 1k up to 10k, bathtubs for 3k to 23k, Induction hobs with 4 fields from 16k to 100k, etc. I am not a cheap Charlie so I don't have to buy all the cheapest. And I am also not so rich to buy just the best from the best brand. My idea is to buy something good from a brand name company what works just fine and has a long life expectancy, doesn't waste too much power, etc. Still many options. What did you do in such a situation? Do online research? Walk around in a shop? Set yourself a fixed budget for all of it or single items? Buy something with the highest discount at the moment? Let someone else decide for you? How did you make up your mind and in the hindsight did you make a good decision?
  2. What research is that? Nobody who rents a 6000B unit will be interested in 30k unit and the other way around. Another bla bla article.
  3. How did that happen? Did she close her eyes and just shovel everything in her mouth? How is it possible not to see a whole prawn? If there would be some shredded prawn in the sauce which she couldn't see then nobody can expect a person to see that. But not in this case. That reminds me of the bags of nuts in supermarkets with information on it telling us: This contains nuts. ...
  4. How much time does Elon musk spent with Tesla? If I would be an investor I would be careful if a company has a part time boss who has maybe one day a week time for this.
  5. Lets say it like this. If I could decide my own year of birth, would I keep it like it was, want to be born in 2000 or 2020 or maybe 2050? No thank you, I keep my old age. In some ways the world is obviously better. But lots of humans all over the world do their very best to f$#$ it up. I am pretty sure it will get a lot worse before maybe one day it will get better again, maybe.
  6. And because you never heard it or never believed it means it never happened? Think again! I have some of my information from talking to the girls in the bars over many years (now not so much anymore). And obviously it is not a good idea to believe everything they say. But sometimes we know some of those girls for years and they know exactly that we won't sponsor them. And we still hear some sad stories. Not everything the girls tell us is BS. And I get some more information from my long time gf from stories in her village. Like mothers talking to other mothers and neighbors, etc. I still have to hear about any mother telling her daughter: Don't do that. I don't want the money which you make that way.
  7. Some mothers do exactly that. And many mothers ask their daughters to send i.e. 10k or 20k THB every month back to mother to support her full well knowing what their daughters has to do for that kind of money. Obviously there are also lots of girls who spend most of the money on themselves, their boyfriends, party time and whatever. And as far as I am concerned they can do whatever they want with the money they worked for.
  8. I don't know how many girls go by themselves and how many mothers send them. I know personally from one girl who had one after another three boyfriends up country. Then the mother told her to go to Bangkok and <deleted> around and make money. And then there are of course many many families who receive regularly lots of money from their pretty daughters. Where do they think the money comes from? Working in 7/11?
  9. There are two 3 kinds of pipes in my ceiling. a) Freshwater galvanized steel pipes for my unit. b) Blue waster waster pipes from the unit above me. c) Sprinkler system pipes When I see this correct: a) my responsibility b) responsibility from the owner of the unit above c) building's responsibility
  10. I have no experience with many buildings. But as far as I know that is the usual situation. If a pipe in my unit leaks and the water runs into your unit then I have to pay for the damage. That's the situation in my building and I think it makes sense. If a pipe in the common area leaks then the building has to pay. And obviously that is the case with old pipes and new pipes. That's why I want to make sure I do preventive maintenance and exchange those pipes if necessary before they leak. If anybody knows if this responsibility is different in different buildings then I am sure that is interesting for many people here.
  11. Is this really a human trafficking issue? Or is it more a society problem? I.e. lots of kids drive illegally motorcycle when they are young. Nobody cares. And lots of young girls have sex and nobody cares. And some of those girls get paid for having sex, almost nobody cares. This human trafficking case is about 16 and 17 year old girls. Many girl with that age have sex. And likely the girls know what they are doing. They probably don't see a problem with making some money. If anybody really wants to address this situation then maybe it's time to explain to the Thai people that prostitution is not just a job like any other job. When mothers send their 20 year old daughters to work in the nightlife business and make a lot of money so that mother can buy a new car and TV and house that seems to be absolutely normal in this country. And when the neighbors see all those new things what do they do? Tell the mother that she is a bad mother to force her daughter into prostitution? Or do the neighbors more likely tell their own daughters to do the same so that they can also buy a new car and house. This is reality in Thailand. And no law will change that reality. Obviously underage girls should not be forced into that business. But then, 20 year old girls should also not be send by their own mothers into that business. This is a question of the mindset of many Thais. If something is legal or not is anyhow something few Thais care about.
  12. And what do they now? Invest more money in more crypto because sure it will go up again?
  13. And I always thought people have to pay cash for those places.
  14. First impression: It's all very cheap here. And everybody is so friendly. After a few days: Why did that taxi from the hotel to the temple charge 400B and on the way back we only paid 80B? Now I see reality: All Thais are bad. They all rip us off all the time. They charged my darling 100B and I should pay 300B for the same. Bad Thais ripping off foreigners. I met this girls and first I thought she is nice. I bough her dinner a couple of time and I paid. But now I realize that she never even tried to pay herself. She is just a bad as all the others who only want my money. Yesterday I discovered that when I walk 100m away from the hotel I can get a taxi with meter. Now I understand the system. Soon I will be an expert. Now I am smart. Instead of paying all that money I told the girl that I am rich and I will marry her. But I am waiting for money. She is so stupid she believes the story. I want to see her face when she finds out I won't pay her. This hospital is really expensive. I still don't remember who beat me up but it was bad. And now that silly hospital wants hundred thousands of baht. That is crazy! At home medical treatment is free. What a horrible country, I am out of here. I should have listened to my friends and go to Brazil. It's so much better over there.
  15. Out of interest: Was it luck or was there ever a reason not to invest in them (relative to other crypto)? Are the people who lost now everything just unlucky that it happened to them? (I am asking, I have almost no idea of crypto and I don't know)
  16. I am waiting for the demands of all those "investors" that someone should bail them out.
  17. I have to admit a long time ago when I was young I did the same. I loved the look of those wheels and I liked that my car didn't look like any other BMW. Was it a smart investment? Not really. But then, many of us spend a lot of money for things which are not really important. That's what I had. But that is not a picture of my car.
  18. Who is crazier? The holy father or the people who follow him?
  19. I bought this one and I like it. I just start with these things and I don't have much experience. But I watched lots of videos about the subject. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002703400758.html
  20. I wonder how many of those vendors are free to decide who to charge and how much. If a business person would see a regular customer then I guess they would see regular business and try to be nice to that person. Like sell him a juice with 100% profit everyday and not just one time. But maybe many of these vendors are hired by owners/mafia with very strict rules. Like: If anybody wants to use that chair then you charge him 100B. Otherwise tell him to go away. Or something like that. It's a long time that I was at a beach in Pattaya but it's like the jet-ski guys. There are maybe 5 different vendors but they are not really different. They have the same prices and the same rules. Organized cr... "business"...
  21. Which one? What's the point of articles which basically tell us: Maybe it is a bad idea or maybe it is a good idea. Yeah, sure, thanks.
  22. You seem to have a lot of experience in Thailand - or maybe not?
