  1. I reckon go to whichever's nearer, or easier. I read one guy went back to Banglamung hospital and got the same result - smart lady at a desk who took care of everything. I went back to the sport's centre as I'd had some success there previously. But yes, you'll have to have your Thai blagging skills to the fore.
  2. You might find your phone number has been misrecorded. I think this has happened to many people.
  3. When you went for your booster at the sports centre, didn't you have to register? Then fill in a medical questionnaire. Then sit down at a pre-jab desk, then finally at the jab desk? When I went back to the sports centre i did indeed just wander in, but I have enough Thai to let the staff know what I wanted and they let me through. I was then taken to the desk where the guy with the laptop added my 3rd jab. I had to go back yet again as I'd given my Thai driving licence as my ID and that has my name back to front. That time I simply approached the nearest desk and the kind and intelligent lady understood immediately what I wanted and she updated my records and showed me on screen. I was then able to return to the health centre to inform the vaccine passport people that my record had changed and request they record them on my vaccine passport. They too understood straight away. I don't know why it all seems to be such a problem!
  4. If it was a booster, then presumably you had/have a certificate for the previous jabs. In fact I'm not sure how you got a booster without that. But if you went back to the stadium they might be able to help. Take your certificate with your previous jabs on it (assuming they were given in Thailand) and they will manually update your Mor Prom record. This will then show up on your digital Vax certificate in the Mor Phrom app, which you can print out. You can then apply for the yellow vaccine passport. Make sure all your details are correct prior to applying. This is what I did.
  5. Maybe done to death already, but just interested to know: when you buy electrical goods in a shop here, do the staff ever bother taking out the warranty card, giving you half, and filling in/stamping the other half with the shop details, etc, to be mailed off later to the manufacturer? I moaned like X today as they didn't seem to know what the procedure was, but there again, is there one? In the end, we tore it in half, I filled in my details on both halves, then pointed out that, as was printed in both Thai and English, they were supposed to fill in and return their half within 10 days. They couldnt have been less interested. Just said if I had a problem within 2 years bring back to any store, with receipt. So, is their warranty that good? And the manufacturer's warranty was 3 years. Seems there's no staff training on the subject at all.
  6. https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s1216-covid-19-vaccines.html The US CDC endorses ACIP's preference for mRNA vaccines over J&J.
  7. https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-provide-update-omicron-variant Seems all vaccines are going to need a 3rd booster.
  8. When you say "the Mor Prom team", who exactly were they? I'm not doubting you, just curious. Maybe just have to carry 2 passports/certificates then? There must be many now who have had jabs in different countries. Is there an "official" line on this?
  9. Don't quite understand the link between "fear of Omicron" and hanging on to your cash. If they/we really were afraid of Omicron, and a subsequent lockdown, they/we'd be out spending on essentials, surely? Anyone panic buying round here yet? What's the UTCC-CEBF's record on forecasting trends in the economy anyway? Come to think of it, anyone scared of Omicron? Truth is, people have more sense than to spend their savings on Christmas rubbish, and prefer to keep it for essentials. Just another deflective "report" hiding the fact nobody's got anything to spend much in any case, except revolting tourists in Pattaya.
  10. Yes, change at Chantaburi, and then change again just before the back road turn off for Koh Chang. They'll charge you for the pick-up from there to Koh Chang as well I think. If you carry on to Trad you might end up waiting some time before there are enough people to make it worth the taxi driver's time to do the Koh Chang ferry trip. Or end up paying 200 for "taxi service".
  11. I did this 13 years ago. I had a short 3 year lease on a small plot, and the owner built a house off plan for us ( we were one of many). Agreed a clause in the lease whereby he would sell the land to my Thai/Brit daughter when she was 20, only a matter of a year or two into the 3 year lease. It all went ahead, but he never forgave me, nor himself I guess, for agreeing to sell the land. I'm in the middle of his resort. Her name is naturally on the chanote. My daughter and I drew up a usufruct agreement at the land office. Without that you could be accused of trespass and all sorts of other unpleasantness if things soured with a neighbour, for instance. My name is on the building permit, but in terms of ownership, it doesn't mean much in my experience.
  12. There is no bus to Trad, unless you're referring to the orange one that used to, maybe still does, leave Ekkamai at 0430, and would hopefully stop as you stood on Sukhumvit Rd in Pattaya frantically waving your arms around 0700. Try the 35 Group on 3rd road, near junction with South Pattaya Rd. FB page. They run direct to your hotel on Koh Chang and vice versa. 300 THB. Good service. And they will go to the Krom Luang pier at Laem Ngop for Koh Mak.
  13. So what's your contribution, apart from derisory low life slang? Knobhead? Dickwad? You ever speak up for anybody?
  14. A man beating up a woman. You can dish it up any which way you like. That's what it comes down to. Violence against women. It's a global problem. Denouncing it, you think is sexist. BTW, I guess this forum is made up of 99% white males. Maybe worth bearing in mind.
  15. Not so much advice, more of a plea, really. Safe to ignore if "not required" - at least, by you. But really, it's every male's problem.
  16. I see this as more to do with male sexual frustration and impotence. Guy sees a very attractive girl on her own, late at night. He's immediately turned on. Maybe she rejects his advances if he makes any, so he resorts to violence, assault and robbery. I don't see women committing this sort of crime, at least, not in this manner, with a highly sexualised element. Always the guys. Violence against women. A global pandemic. Has to stop. Guys, can you please sort out a lifestyle that DOESN'T involve bashing the hell out of women because of your own failures?
  17. So he sees the elephant eating his bananas, goes out with his gun, tries to shoo her away, but she isn't having it so he shoots her dead. Ye gods. His complete stupidity cost the elephant and her unborn calf their lives.
  18. And as was pointed out elsewhere, to escape a violent abusive marriage, and make a fresh start with her daughter. People moralising about getting into debt should try a little empathy maybe.
