No, no walking stick, but the previous color test did present problems. The previous three times I had to do it I was lucky to have a falang next to me that whispered the colors. This time didn't have a problem.

I don't think the previous color test, the one made up of small dots, was necessary. I would have failed that every time as I'm color blind, but passed with help from a bystander. With the new test even I can pass, as the three colors are large, red, yellow and green. Australia never had a color test and I don't recall doing one in the UK either.

I used to enjoy it, but after 8 seasons it's getting kind of stale. Tried watching ep.1 of the new season, but gave it away after 10 minutes. -
I haven't driven at night for a long time. My night vision was never good, even when young. Might have something to do with being color blind.

I think the peripheral test was dropped in Pattaya because of Covid, too many people handling the machine.

At Pattaya the tester is the one to determine if you're fast enough, and he's pretty forgiving.

Where was that? There was no perception test in Pattaya when I did mine a couple of weeks ago.

You mean the same way they determine if they're too drunk, tired or competent enough to drive, and are you talking about those licenced, or the thousands of unlicenced drivers out there?

The colors come up randomly, not in the same order as a real traffic light. The reaction test is the brake test, you hit the brake when the light turns from green to red.

They have made the color test even easier, it's like a small traffic light, and red, yellow, green just come up randomly, and you name the color. I couldn't pass the old color test, I cheated every time. As far as the reaction test, you'd have to be pretty doddery not to pass that, but I have seen some young people take several attempts before they got it right.

Just curious, as I just got another 6 years renewal at 80. Pretty sure a lot of countries make you basically sit for the test again after 70.
