  1. Well, that's a bit like saying that you only enjoy comedies, so you found Schindlers List depressing.
  2. Yet this movie (The Prizefighter) gets a lower IMDB score (5.4) than The Gray Man (6.6). Go figure.
  3. Not sure what people are expecting with this kind of movie. Is it any different than The Hitman's Bodyguard, Deadpool, or any of the Marvel movies? It's pure escapism, nothing more. Maybe I've been dumbed down by the mediocre offerings from Hollywood these days, but I accepted it for what it was, chewing gum for the eyes.
  4. It is clearly posted that lunch hours are 11.30 until 1.00, so JensenZ is wrong.
  5. Is that a different Gray Man to the movie?
  6. I think getting lucky numbers and winning the lottery has become the predominant religion in Thailand.
  7. I enjoyed it, even though there was nothing original about it. Make up your own mind.
  8. Yeah, we get it. You didn't like it.
  9. Not too difficult to be anti Israel, but the film is from 2019 and shows the lives of average Palestinians who manage under dire circumstances.
  10. And yet both Seppius and myself enjoyed it. Go figure.
  11. I agree, even though it offered little new in the genre, it was still highly entertaining. A bit of a stretch with the Tuk Tuk, but I guess you have to suspend all credibility for that kind of movie.
  12. It's right under the What Movies Are You Watching, It's called What Books Are You Reading. Impossible to miss.
  13. It won't change my life as we've already been together 13 years, but might make her feel a bit more secure, even though at 80 I'm not likely to be straying. Just looking at the pros and cons.
  14. Nothing like first hand experience.
  15. Doesn't answer my question whether using an agent makes it any easier.
  16. We've been together 13 years, she's passed all tests.
  17. Yes. It will simplify anything I leave her in a will.
  18. I posted this a few days ago under Marriages, but it seems no one reads that section. I went through the procedure of getting married a few years back, ie getting clearance from the Aussie embassy, getting everything translated etc, but never went ahead with it because I read that it could affect my age pension from Centrelink. However, now that I'm a few years older I'm not too worried about a reduced pension, and am wondering if using an agent to obtain a marriage licence makes the whole procedure any easier?
  19. I was suggesting a different queue for the services that are less frequented. It seems a bit inconsiderate to make someone queue for 90 minutes only to walk in and see no one waiting at that counter. But as you say, no doubt I picked the wrong day, but it was still busy at 2 pm yesterday when I picked up my PP, so maybe there's still backlog from the long weekend.
  20. I have been doing the same thing, but have been told it's a total waste of time. For one, there's no record taken that you actually returned the form, and secondly they can see when you renew your visa that the money has remained in your bank book.
  21. Why twice?
  22. Did you have to take a doctors letter as well? How much do they charge for resident letter now?
  23. Fortunately I only need to visit Immigration once a year now as I do my 90 day checks online. However, I did notice a booth for 90 days outside of Immigration, so maybe there's no need to queue for that.
  24. I think it must have been because of the public holidays. Will know better next time. Still, it's all done for another year.
  25. I went through all the steps to do it myself 5 years ago, a visit to the Aussie embassy to do the stat dec. that I was unmarried, getting everything translated etc, but never went ahead with the marriage because I was told that if Centrelink got wind of it my pension could get reduced. However, to make things simpler for my partner in terms of a will, I now wish to get married, but at 80 I can't be stuffed going through the whole rigmarole again, so as my header says, anyone used an agency to make things easier, and how much did it cost?
