  1. How do you know that the OTA (which one is it?) deleted the review, and also that they passed the customer's personal info to the hotel? (The link to the original article is ng).
  2. I think I am probably not the only person who scrolls thru some threads only to see BritManToo's comments.
  3. There was discussion of some Thais looking down on Isaan people due to their skin being darker. In the USA within the African American community some have dislike for darker skin fellow African Americans. One of Spike Lee's early films was about this topic, which is how I first learned of this prejudice.
  4. Hardly new. There were articles in the 1960's about French housewives living in new apartments in Parisian suburbs moonlighting as prostitutes - Godard made a film in 1967 about this: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0060304/?ref_=fn_al_tt_0 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her Original title: 2 ou 3 choses que je sais d'elle 1967 Not Rated 1h 27m 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her Original title: 2
  5. Tom Sizemore, Kilmer, and Voight (his best ever) were all impressive.
  6. I have read posts by other African Americans who feel they are looked down at while in Thailand.
  7. "63% Of Americans Don't Have Enough Savings To Cover A $500 Emergency" https://www.forbes.com/sites/maggiemcgrath/2016/01/06/63-of-americans-dont-have-enough-savings-to-cover-a-500-emergency/?sh=6a11b6874e0d
  8. I plan to donate my corpse for medical school usage (and will be the 3rd generation of my family to do this).
  9. I found Season 5 of Gomorra to be a time waster - just a few hints of what it used to be. The Gomorra "early years" movie total garbage. That show is over.
  10. On a few rare occasions with financial institutions I've had to change VPN server - but always have been able to use it.
  11. "A Thai or UK bank will still see an international purchase (say, Qatar Airways) made from a Thai IP address, which I assume is the problem?" A VPN is the obvious solution re: the Thai ip address.
  12. Pib/TallGuy/others - please weigh in if you have any thoughts on what "Uproam" is. Thanks.
  13. Someone has helpfully been posting a daily color chart of all the Asean countries and their Covid stats for the previous day. Each country is listed on a horizontal line giving about 6 different stats. I don't see that today - can that person or someone else please post the link to that page. Thank you.
  14. Unfortunately my phone doesn't support that. TextNow stopped working for me as my voice call backup, so this could work in an emergency if really 0.25/minute.
  15. Much lower prices now to call the USA using Ultramobile/Paygo? Or just more Paygo confusion? "UpRoam". https://www.ultramobile.com/paygo/international-roaming/ Can anyone make sense of this? Logged into my account, I see nothing about "UpRoam" (no link to an info page). Are they just suggesting logging in to add money to our wallet? Is it really 0.25/min. to call the USA, or still the exorbitant int'l. charges listed here: https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/prepaid-international-roaming 1 thing is for sure - cs will be clueless.
  16. Agree, excellent film. Big film for Mathieu Kassovitz, the star of that French government spy agency tv series which many here enjoyed. I recommend "Delicatessen", also fanciful/funny/offbeat earlier film which Amelie's director/co-screenwriter Jean-Pierre Jeunet co-directed - his 1991 feature film directorial debut.
  17. My experience with the Home MS software is there is no stated specific amount of time to postpone the updates - it is possible sometimes to put it off that day but eventually it forces install - often long before 1 month.
  18. This is why for my next computer I will purchase MS Professional, simply to be able to turn off forced Updates.
