I'm pretty sensitive to MSG AND I normally get thirsty and a headache after eating at MK.

It was excellent. Cover songs were nicely done. I enjoyed Foo Fighter and other Judas Preist oldies. Lots of people Thai and Farangs.

Did anyone end up going to the Rock show last night? If so, how was it?

I was planning on it but I didnt think my 6 year old could handle more than 2 or 3 hours of it.

In that case, I feel sorry for her. Sounded like some Indian tourists! Hope her business is doing well.

Most local Chiang Mai folks complain about Chinese tourists just because farangs and the Japaneses tip more that's all.

Well it was always rare to tips at 100baht a night guesthouse so that's not the source of it I don't think

From what she says they are just being plain rude to her and her staff.... skipping out on bills, trying to sneak back in to keep sleeping after checking out, checking out late, doing filthy things in rooms and bathrooms, getting angry with her that they don't have breakfast included (even when their advertisements are very clear in mandarin that you are just paying for a bed)... and the list goes on.

She would definitely have much less trouble with the kind of Chinese tourist that would be staying at a 4-5 star hotel and shopping for brand names at airport plaza... but that is only one portion of this emerging market. Many on here and around town have a very 'nose up' opinion of western backpackers (not me personally though).... the low end of the Chinese market is just as bad and in some respects worse.

Too bad they aborted millions of female fetuses, now the dudes outnumber the babes by millions. Expect them to tap some of the abundance here soon. And what is with the glasses? Seems like 80% wear glasses.

It's been observed by Thais and called the "Chinese Factors" in Thai . Many Chinese families are doctors and rich business people while native darker skin Thai are mostly peasants. Natives Thais descendants are believe to be lazy and incompetent a lot of Chinese descendants refuse mix mariage. Not to mention the Indian Sikhs who dominate in the properties business in BKK. Most Thais don't mind the Chinese...

Indonesia have similar problems between Chinese descendants and local but in a more violent way.

Problem is some farangs can't tell no different between bar girls and average Thai girls

the uneducated Thai's, and Thai people that don't respect or like you, will call you farang

it all go to the local families that are serving at that temple.

If you go to a Thai Wat for their service you will be amazed at all the food that is brought in. Literally mounds of the stuff from rice, to fruit, to fish, to pork. I cannot but wonder where does it all go, considering that this scene is repeated throughout Thailand every week, and there is a limit to how much the monks can eat for their two meals a day

Looks good, I feel sorry for the people along the proposed "pink" separate lane. They were totally dusted out a few years ago, when they were widening the canal road.

I wish they would put a signal at at Mae Hia market intersection where everyone crosses the little bridge. Over the years many people have lost there lives crossing there.

For a steak over 800 bath and sometime they forgot to season the steak! I would rather get some at Sizzler or cook my own.

I've been eating at Baan Rai many times I never know they are buffalo meat (not that there's any thing wrong with it)
