While this is fantastic to see and long overdue, we must remember to not stereotype all police officers
I know two officers personally who would give their left arm to the community if they needed it and would never take a single satang they didn't earn
I hope that news articles like this will lead to less Thai bashing here on thaivisa .
ThaiVisaness will dash your hopes.

A big car driven by guys with a small pen*s.
So if you see a guy in a Nissan March, do you assume he's hung like a Grand National winner ?

Oh here we go! Obviously a multi-millionaire to boot! Retired SAS by any chance?
I didn't say Fortuner buyers were stupid per se. Only if they thought they were buying an SUV.
I thought I was buying an Innova and ended up with a Fortuner, or is it a pick up ?

So is a Toyota Mini Bus a Toyota pick up, is a Pick up a Mini Bus, is an Innova a pick up, Is a Fortuner an Innova or do they just happen to share the same chassis ?
To me, and correct me if I'm wrong, they all look like totally different vehicles, sharing a frame seems to be the connection, but again, they are all different.
Yes I'm a Fortuner owner and have been since January 2006, and the reason I have kept it so long is simple, there is no other vehicle I would rather have in Thailand unless I had an endless stream of cash, its a great go anywhere ride and has so far been bulletproof, One set of Tires and One replacement Battery and one electric wing mirror motor (600 Baht) in nearly nine years is all that has been replaced.
The Fortuner is a great workhorse, sure, its no BMW X5 ( Which I would really like but its outside my price range by 5.5 Million) and at 5,500,000 Baht less it doesn't pretend to be, we are very limited here in Thailand when it comes to vehicles, unless you are quite wealthy and can afford an Import and all the problems that come with it, the Fortuner is still a great choice, and has been since 2005.
I will keep mine at least until the new Toyota Pick up based SUV comes along, and if I could get another 9 - 10 years trouble free, go anywhere motoring, I'd be straight in for another one, and the buyer of my 9 - 10 year old Fortuner would be getting a great Thailand vehicle.
Why do they get a bad wrap ?
Mostly it's because they are outside many peoples price range, it's kind of like the way Big expensive motorcycles are slagged off by old men on their Honda Waves, they can't afford one themselves or couldn't handle one, so they slag them off, it's easier than admitting they're as jealous as %*#! , or wishing they were 40 years younger.

RIP. Brits and Burmese should think twice before coming to Thailand.
As well as Cambodians, Germans, Swedish, Danish, Ozzies, Kiwi's, Belgians.......should I go on?
Yes you should, then state why you choose to ignore your own sage advice .

What nationality are you, is your country of origin immune from the horrors of Thailand ?

Just Fed ex it to my mate in the States, he exchanges it for a new one at The Apple Store and sends it back, not really a hardship, there is no Apple Store in Thailand so you can't just walk in the Store and exchange it so any repairs/exchange would probably take as long as sending it back to US, exchanging and returning to Thailand.
-
Yeah so when they see the empty boxes in the luggage they'll look in her purse for the phones.
My mate bought me a 6 from the States yesterday, as well as a Plus for his Missus and his own Plus and his old 5, he left the boxes in the states and bought the phones in his hand luggage, no problem.
Will bring the empty boxes on his next trip.

Adding to all of what has already been said ... It is difficult to find a lovely young lady anymore in Pattaya Now old, fat, mean, and nasty babes make up 95% of the remaining and the price is not worth the merchandise thats for sell. Sorry but it is time to find greener pastures.
You got that right.

So the bottom line is that Pattaya has seen the peak of it's popularity, and is now starting a long slow decline.
People were saying that when I moved here in 1990.
I agree with a lot you say, the building is out of control, I live in Wong Amat, its going to be very bad for the roads when they all get finished.

Pattaya has started to get the Russians back now, Its freezing in Moscow.

Wonder if the kid will grow up to one day lead this country?
He's got more chance than any of the Farangs on ThaiVisa.

Yet I'll wager the Bertty tells all his friends back home what a wonderful life he has in Thailand......secretly regretting the day he set foot in the kingdom, slithering off to his lonely 2500 baht a month fan room after the air conditioned shopping malls close, surviving on Boiled eggs and mama noodles wondering how he will survive the month on his paltry income..
Living the dream Bertty ?

I bought an iPad from iStudio in Central Pattaya and got an exchange unit in The Apple Store in Ginza,Tokyo.
I believe Phones are a different proposition though, maybe something do with certain models for certain countries, my iPad was wifi only, so that could be why I had no problem.

He will have come here with the Koh Tao story ringing in his mind.
Gets here and gets fleeced by a bunch of Thais who then beat the crap out of him to add insult to injury and will then go back home and possibly report to his local press of how truly violent and dangerous Thailand really is for tourists as he has found out first hand.
Repeat this a few times.
Slowly the message will get across.
Has the message got across to you, if so, where will you be going instead of Thailand ?
-
Hold on just a minute, i thought that the TAT stated that the tourists were flocking back to Koh Tao after the police had apprehended the "murderers". Like i said typical propaganda published because they think we are all stupid.
So the new slogan for Thailand should be " Come to Thailand, we dont have ebola, but plenty of other ways you could mysteriously die "
I cant believe that Hannah and David have not even been buried for 5 minutes and all they are worried about is getting the tourist numbers back up.
they must be feeling the pinch, i know quite a few people who are now swerving Thailand for there holidays and instead going to Vietnam instead, people fed up with this blatant cover up and do not feel safe visiting somewhere like this despite empty promises of beefed up security blah blah blah.
so people are going to Vietnam because of the KT murders ?
You are delusional, I tell you what, why don't you leave Thailand in protest, or don't you have the same convictions, are you only good for spouting out your hatred on an anonymous forum, makes me wanna puke!!
ThaiVisa home of the guys with really strong opinions, as long as they can stay in Thailand at any cost!

"As a woman I would like to express my gratitude for Malala's courage and determination. She fought for women's rights even though this almost cost her life...Today, everywhere in the world women still face gender inequality in many areas, including education, and women are still the victims of violence and torture, she said."
And what did Yingluck do to address the issues of gender inequality (Gender is a non factor when your family's wealth can buy you power), advancing education and domestic violence while she was Prime Minister? The only right she fought for was her right to take as many shopping trips as she could fit into her schedule.
I bet she has done more in her life than you ever have, or will.

Educate the locals ?I don't see it as my place here to 'educate' the locals. I just go with the flow.
Farang arrogance at its ThaiVisa best, makes me sick, I want to be in a food court when you try to educate me or my kin, you will have a whole new thread to write.
I was trying to educate the locals when this 6' 3" inch 105 KG Farang put me on my azz, picked up my Bike and snapped it in half, OMG what can I do ?
Don't forget to spank the troll's little botty.
That"s part of the package.

I actually feel sorry for you, you must lead a very sad life, obviously you have nothing to do and worst of all , aren't intelligent enough to write something funny, humor I enjoy but stupidity I don't
Errrr, it's true.

Why do Fortuner's get a bad wrap?
in Thailand Motor Discussion
Posted
So it seems that many owners of Fortuners are happy with their vehicles, whilst many non Fortuner owners seem unhappy about a vehicle they don't or can't afford to own.
