Dual Pricing in Thai Tourism: Economic Necessity or Hidden Bias?
You are making assumptions that the pricing is to deter people or price gouge. no intent of the pricing is listed anywhere . If the intent was to deter people, they simply would deny non-Thais entry! You are of course entitled to your opinion. And people are free to choose to pay or not go to such places.

Dual Pricing in Thai Tourism: Economic Necessity or Hidden Bias?
I agree. Tempest in a tea cup and not worth getting worked up over. It just is not that significant

Dual Pricing in Thai Tourism: Economic Necessity or Hidden Bias?
In the USA, many state parks, beaches, and other places have dual prices for state residents or out of state residents. The price differences are not really very huge so unless one goes to a place many many times each year, I do not think there is a large price burden. I understand why a person may be upset about dual pricing but I do not see it as something to dwell on or be too concerned about.

I finally understand crypto
The thing that many crypto enthusiasts do is they only watch positive crypto spins, pod casts, websites, glowing ads from coin base, xrp, and all the other related sites. It becomes a circular reinforcement. They think they are seeing all and only good things with total disregard of any downsides. Read the fine print or prospectus' and one might be a little more cautious and think a little more critically. Very unregulated, very difficult to sue and recoup any malfeasance, My best friend is absolutely engrossed in crypto things and heavily invested in it. He spends hours each day on podcasts run by young guys in their 30s that speak like snake oil salesmen, extol the virtue of crypto, the huge upside. I hope for him he can actually get his money out at some point and keep his profits and does not go all in as he has.

Texas man accused of threatening to shoot up Pride parade
well, I guess one of the good things of mass media, and various web sites is that if somebody posts threats, assault actions, blabs about the harmful things they are thinking of, it can be seen or detected by law enforcement and the bad things can be stopped before they happen.

Financial Fraud Hits Nearly Half of Thai Citizens
Good example. People are often reluctant to talk about when they did something wrong or foolish. Many instances of scam are not reported.

Financial Fraud Hits Nearly Half of Thai Citizens
Sadly, many older folks, both old or young really do not understand how information or access can be hacked or used. so many spam calls or emails look so legitimate. Or just out of curiosity they click on some hyper link and bad things happen.

Foreigners Bank Accounts Being Closed
My first trip was in 2004. I was 47. I immediately was enthrall with the place. I immediately started planning to be able to retire there or at least spend a lot of time every year there when I turned 50. I have been 15 times over the years. I never was comfortable with moving any significant monies to Thailand while I was on the sidelines and still working but vacationing in Thailand. Over the years I have read of so many various issues about monies there, transfers there, transfers out of there, etc. Some things seem to have gotten easier, more have gotten harder. Starting with the USA and other embassies stopping the Visa affidavit income letter. USA having to file FINCEN, my job requiring me to report foreign assets should I deposit visa baht there, or even open a bank account. Using or not using a bank website, using or not using a phone app. As I get older I prefer to keep things simple an on auto. Thailand doesn't seem to be doing that.

Passport validity ends, new one hasn't arrived
Ouch, only 5 years validity. USA still is 10. Darn I got my last one in 2020 and haven't used or traveled with it yet. Been so busy. Hate seeing 5 years of it already used up and I had paid a little extra for the extra pages as I was planning to travel. But COVID hit in 2020 and travel was quite a bother and I luckily was busy with decent work here at home.

Thailand Gives Vintage Cars a Tax Spin to Boost Tourism
Yeah, I highly doubt there is or will be any significant numbers of vintage cars enthusiast in the tourism industry. I mean, are they thinking that a large number of tourists bring a vintage car with them or go to Thailand to see vintage cars?

Chiang Mai close to flooding ........ Again
Thailand seems to need better water management agency, like the US Army corps of engineers maybe? Thailand gets a lot of rain. Needs more reservoirs? Via ducts, hydrology engineers? Some agency to coordinate between various provinces

Nearly robbed by a ladyboy
Years ago a small one tried the old grope distract and attempted to grab or slide my watch off my wrist. My $8 K-mart watch changed the thief's mind. Actually now that K Mart basically no longer exists in the USA, the watch may have increased in value as a collectable! The darn thing keeps perfect time, and the battery has been running for at least 6 years now. Cheap and lightweight

Decades ago in the USA low density living I think was called the suburbs as people moved out of cities and apartments

Trump Urges Supreme Court to End Birthright Citizenship
yeah. Times do change. The idea of anchor babies was not a big issue a century or more ago because traveling to the USA from abroad was not a trivial process. Now, it is relatively easy to get into the USA one way or another, and with the clear intent to have a baby there. So I am open to the issue being looked at in a new light. A quick search on the internet said there were 400,000 so called anchor babies born in the USA annually

Digital Transfers Suspended Amid Mule Account Crackdown
My friend does a lot of crypto things. One of their security features is when you want to do some transaction they route you to an actual speaking agent. And your account uses two passwords, one you can give and do routine transactions. The other password is a "safe" password which means if you give it, it means you are under duress, or being threatened and the agent knows to say there is some issue, server is down, transaction is delayed or whatever and blocks things

Digital Transfers Suspended Amid Mule Account Crackdown
I personally never book anything with a debit card here in the USA. Debit card issues have much less protection than booking with a credit card. Credit cards have more consumer protection than bank debit cards.

Digital Transfers Suspended Amid Mule Account Crackdown
Oh my is this true in vietnam? I would never agree to biometrics. So far I have not had to on any websites I use. I do use one or two apps, and just one banking app which I only use because now and then I have to deposit a paper check to my etrade bank which does not have local brick and mortar branches. I do have other ways to deposit the check using my other banks but they are not always near where I am at the time.

Some people do not like to use phone apps. I for one do not trust them as much as I might trust a website on my pc which has proper anti virus and scam protections.

What was life like when you were 17?
So I graduated High school the next year 1975. I just attended my 50th High School reunion, flying up from Florida to Rhode Island. what a great experience. I miss the familiarity we had in school and in those times.
