  1. I wonder more about why they never completely clear the vines and trees that tangle the electric cables and cause many of those outages. They cut the vines and tree branches, but never clear them, leaving a perfect route for them to climb up again. Nowadays, most of our blackouts are 8 hour ones, caused by maintenance. Much more frequent are the three or four hour brownouts.
  2. It’s not just oil that ships through those straits. Also LPG, fertiliser for food production, smelted products, food and other commercial goods to name a few. Some of which will create shortages and thereby price increases. Not forgetting that once shut down, some of the refineries and smelters will take some time to restart.
  3. Trump will want this to end quickly now that the GCC are talking about invoking Force Majeure and pulling investment from the US.
  4. Not surprised a convicted felon would resort to blackmail. 😄
  5. The start of the US trying to empire build. Countries with oil, and those of South America, better start arming themselves or obtain nuclear weapons.
  6. I somehow don't think that global humanitarian efforts, or even domestic humanitarian efforts are anywhere near the top of Trump's list of things to care about. Personal enrichment is what occupies his waking moments....well that and Joe Biden.
  7. A heads up for those that do the same: For the last 10+ years I have paid my 3BB internet for the whole year in advance in return for 8% discount. Better than money in the bank. Today I went to pay my annual bill, but was told," Sorry. Now 3BB have joined with AIS, no more 8% discount offered. ☹️ No, or hardly any competition removes competitiveness.
  8. Now someone (the US denies it was them) has attacked an Iranian water desalination plant and Iran’s oil infrastructure. The Iranian’s have basically intimated that it is now open day on those same facilities in other gulf states.
  9. Here in Samui, the Rotary Club has a program for teaching young Thais to swim. Volunteers give up their time to teach them. Several hundred youngsters have passed their basic test now (2 x 25m breast stroke). IMHO basic swimming is a necessity when living on an island.
  10. Has the US declared war on Iran?
  11. 400 grams? He must have had a high turnover to have that amount. Someone is out of pocket for a lot of money to lose that.
  12. Isn't there also a bus from Mo Chit?
  13. America for the Americans. All the while putting a fence up on the southern border of the US. Or while invading to take their oil.
  14. Has the US, or Israel for that matter bombed any Iranian oilfields yet? I bet some of Trump's other conditions (apart from being involved in the choice of leader) will be: The US gets all the rebuilding contracts. The US gets their oil companies involved in the drilling and sale of the oil. A repeat of the Saddam Hussein shakedown.
  15. Mutton dressed as lamb whichever cosplay she fancies on that particular day.
  16. Not at my IO. It has always been stapled into the passport. As was my most recent one a couple of weeks ago.
  17. 90 day report four times a year. Notification of address, and two receipts for extension and re-entry permit. All leaving holes or small tears when removed and replaced every year. Also there was a post hear on AN very recently about some being warned about a tiny tear in a page in their passport. I suppose it’s up to the inspecting IO at time of entry on what he considers enough damage to invalidate a passport.
  18. Really? I always thought she looked porcine. Mutton dressed as lamb. But each to their own.
  19. And yet Thai Immigration still insist on stapling multiple pieces of paper in our passports.
  20. The UK Gov't knows every time someone enters or leaves the UK legally. When your passport is scanned by machine or Boarder Control. Those arriving by small boat are a different matter. The gov't is using companies like Palantir along with AI to gather data on all citizens nowadays. they have a file on everyone. Even the tax man is using AI to look at bank accounts. They can easily check everything from your entry and exit history to your State Pension and driving licence.
  21. Two naked ladyboys chasing an Indian. At that time in the morning any high or inebriated fellows staggering home must have thought they were hallucinating on seeing that sight. 😆
  22. A couple of my bathroom cabinet hinges need replacing. Brand ITAL. I was hoping to find the exact same make and model to just fit like for like, save drilling more holes, but no luck. A long shot, but has anyone seen these ITAL brand ones anywhere? I have bought some Hafele from Home Mart to try, and first problem: Any tips on how to remove the old ones without damaging the door? They are set into the wood , and I want to avoid damaging the paintwork. See photos of hinge below. TIA
  23. Trump only believes in one god. Himself. He just uses religion as a tool to keep his right wing christian supporters on side. The Annointed One indeed. Someone has been looking at too many of Trump's AI generated photos of himself.
  24. Doesn't Thailand have its own oil rigs in the gulf? Probably won't cover any shortfall completely, but at least extend their supplies.
