  1. I normally travel business class to and from UK, but in the last six months have travelled there twice in Economy. Two of the most pleasant long haul economy flights that I have had. Partly due to the low numbers of passengers. Flights left on time, Covid passenger processing through airport arrival and Covid hotel testing all went smoothly My worst problem was arriving London hotel at 08:30am and no room check in until after 2pm. Suvarnabhumi was a bit of a let down both times due to most restaurants, and many shops being closed air side. Couldn't get a meal.
  2. When is the box jellyfish season in Samui, and surrounding islands, (or even Thailand)? I presume when the winds are in a certain direction.
  3. But won't the breathing tube for the engine give away the location?
  4. I have read that before, but it is recognised as an emergency treatment if nothing else available?
  5. Free coaching. Yet he is unappreciative and insulting when you call him out for doing wrong. Maybe racism coming to the surface too. Shows what he really thinks of you. Sounds like another spoiled, bullying yob in the making. Walk away. If you still want to coach, find someone who will appreciate it.
  6. Will you be dancing on stage wearing a mask khunPer? ????
  7. Don't know if this might help. You can buy Bonjela on Lazada. Maybe in Boots as well. Gel for mouth ulcers. Contains lidocaine. You might be able to mix with water and make a gargle.
  8. They (the airport staff) have gotta get more views and likes on their TikTok accounts somehow.
  9. I find it to be cruel to bring a breed of dog that is basically bred for extreme cold to a hot country like Thailand. But for many Thais, it seems to be some kind of "look at me" or fashion statement. I have seen these dogs chained up, or outside under a shaded roof, where the air temp is still in the high twenties or more, panting like crazy. They are large dogs, and if anything would cause one to snap or bite, it would be overheating.
  10. They say that, and maybe in the US they still work smoothly. But here, it seems like the staff don't like going through the long drawn out process. I was often told "We don't accept them any more." If you do intend to use them, I would advise getting the biggest denominations available. Otherwise the commission per cheque really adds up. Better for me today to use Transferwise.
  11. I used to use them a lot, but the costs for changing them became far too expensive. Even for the £100 ones. Especially when the THB/GPB exchange rate got so bad. I think the last time the commission on each cheque, plus the exchange rate meant I was getting around 36 baht to the pound. Most banks that I used here in Samui gradually stopped accepting them. Finally, only Bangkok Bank. But at all banks, it was always a really long drawn out process. Often taking more than an hour, while the bank staff rang Amex in Bangkok gave them the details of each cheque, and get a verification number for each one. Sometimes because the chequers were three or four years old, I was questioned by Amex as to where I bought them and asked for receipts. I took my last lot back to the UK last November and just changed them back into GBP in a money changers. Too much hassle here nowadays.
  12. If the condensate drain is blocked, the collecting tray can fill with water. If it gets too full the fan can blow the water out of the tray. You might be able to clear it yourself if accessible. If not, time for a service.
  13. How about here? https://www.bahtsold.com/category/phones-smartphones-for-sale-456
  14. So a markup of minimum 25% for someone. probably a ticket cartel of rich people. I have seen certain tickets, or books of tickets much higher than 100 baht. Then there are always certain numbers that are either priced very high, or, and this one I can't understand, "not for sale". Almost as if they are known to be winning numbers.
  15. Would be nice for 7-11 to support their staff and ask the police to prosecute.
  16. Gf took 9 y.o. daughter to one of these places. Normally half price for a child when they go. This time they charged for two adults. When asked why,? Staff said, "She is too tall."
  17. I hope they take note of the problem the UK gov't had when they first introduced polymer notes. They apparently were made using some animal fats which didn't go down well with certain religious groups for their followers handling them. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/aug/10/bank-of-england-to-keep-animal-fat-in-banknotes-despite-complaints Looks like soi3eddie and I posted at the same time. Cannot delete, but basically same info.
  18. It might get through unchecked, but they seem to get, x-rayed, opened a lot more than they used to. Best to under value items on the form the post give sender to complete, to try and reduce any potential tax. But that's a risk you or sender have to contemplate. There is a Thai customs website where you can find the taxes and duty rates, but I can't remember the address.
  19. Pay 12 months in advance and you get 8% discount, (which is more than interest on the money in the bank), and often for new customers a cheap gift. I got a canvas holdall when I changed packages. Even though I have been with them for years.
  20. No. Will be under too much pressure not to from other influentials in the same circle. Sue and he might find work dries up.
