The sites that I have used most frequently for online buying here in Thailand are: Amazon (UK and US) Lazada Aliexpress Shopee ???? Invadeit Plus a few lesser known more specialised sites. Mainly a good experience. Now with the supply chain issues hitting the supermarkets, I can still often find some tinned foodstuffs on Lazada that are no longer on the supermarket shelves.

I have been buying off Amazon for over twenty years. Very smooth experience with fast delivery (often next day) in the UK. The only thing that stops me buying from them here a lot more, are the high import and postage costs. Both from UK and US sites. Lazada is OK. obviously not so many UK or US products, and if they are, they are expensive. mainly Chinese or Thai. But fairly fast. Not had a great experience with Shopee. Not a great English version of the website, and out of maybe ten orders I have made there, at least half have been cancelled by the seller. One I could not get m money back. It's not just covid, but people leading busy lives that has caused the increase in online shopping. Amazon now does food delivery, and have smart devices to remind you when certain household products are running low so they can be re-ordered. So cheap prices and convenience with orders delivered quickly to the front door. Orders made from home or mobile phone from anywhere. Time saved, and far less driving to the mall or supermarket and dragging a trolley around. Even the supermarkets themselves have got in on the act. In face the Thais themselves have embraced this down to ordering their lunch. I was in the food court at Centralworld last week and was amazed at the amount of Grab, Food Panda, and Line men collecting orders for customers. I think online shopping isn't going anywhere for now.

More COVID cases in Surat Thani?

it seems odd how the numbers jumped five fold from the 8th and have remained there. I wonder if the authorities are just doing more testing to spot it. -
Terrible mosquito problem in and around the house - how to get rid of them?
phetphet replied to SS1's topic in Chiang Mai
If it is standing water, I have read that putting just a spoonful of oil (maybe cooking or olive oil?) in the water creates a very thin film on the surface which stops the mosquito larvae. Stops them from doing what, I don't know. Escaping the water? Breathing? But it is supposed to work. -

Do you really think China wants to risk the same sanctions from the rest of the world as Russia by aiding them? Put at risk their global sales and risk their own economy? I don't think so. Maybe in a few years they might work together to reduce the effect of this sort of western threat, but no way are they either ready or willing to do it now. They are already stepping back a little. I think Uncle Vlad as you call him has badly miscalculated this time. Even if he wins the war, and it is a war, maintaining control over such a large country and an unwilling population will be extremely difficult and costly. And all the time the sanctions will be biting the Russian economy.

How is your Sex Life, these days?

How's your sex life? A bit up and down at the moment. -
No problem. Most phones are global. Only slight differences in wavelengths used in some countries, but should be OK here. I have used several UK iPhones here. In fact I am using one at the moment and my last three or four iPhones were UK bought on trips home and used here without any problems. Personally I would go to one of the bigger provider stores in the malls in Bangkok. They are dealing with lots of foreigners and probably know more about the deals available. HTH

Teacher assaults primary student because he dared to ask a question

Better he calls in sick on that day. -
Recently received an email from Bitkub asking me to update my information for KYC. Fair enough. However, the questionnaire seems really intrusive. Asking for far more information than what is required to confirm one's identity. Anyone else had this? Is it breaking any laws to just lie to questions I feel are not necessary?

When I try that link on my laptop, then click on the mobile top up icon, it tells me to download the Lazada App. On my mobile using Lazada App, I click on the little wallet top right of home screen > Then the yellow rectangle with mobile top up/ Bill payment, which then takes me to thie screenshot below.

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
phetphet replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
It might still not be easy to move oil via Ukraine if this turns into an insurgent war. Putin will have to bring in large amounts of military personnel to police what is not a small country. The guy is a madman, but too entrenched to be removed from his post by force. Let's hope the sanctions have their desired effect. -
I think I saw them in Makro.

I didn't even know it was possible to send money to someone else with Wise. I thought only possible to send to one's self.
