Thai GF's 9 year old daughter speaks native English without any accent, but her mother says she speaks Thai with a foreign accent. Despite having only ever lived in Thailand and going to a Thai nursery school. I told her thats because she mainly speaks to her in English. I did tell her to always speak to her in Thai, but we always use English at home, and most of her friends converse in English or French. Sent her at 6 years old to a french school, and have been told she speaks french like a native. Well, as good an almost 10 year old can speak. Still a ways to go. She is now having extra curricular Thai lessons, and should end up tri lingual. Plus she speaks to her grandma on the phone in whatever their Isaan dialect is. She also wants to learn Spanish once she starts secondary school. She tells me that when playing online games with other children, they often don't believe that she is not from the UK.

Mor Prom app being turned into national digital health platform

I agree, but the security aspect is what concerns me. The government's record on keeping personal information secure isn't that great. Once they start keeping all that information, including medical history in one place it will be an even bigger target for hackers. -
Let the train take the strain instead of flying out of Thailand

Those first class sleepers used to have air con like an ice box. -
Pre-pandemic, I holidayed in France almost every year for over twenty years. This year was left out because of continued travel problems and exorbitant flight costs. But even if I was back in the UK, I wouldn't bother going if faced with all the current travel obstacles and uncertainty. Apart from the increased bureaucracy. Many of those home owners are now limited on the number of days/year they can spend in France.

UK was France's second largest number of tourists in 2018 at 13,000,000. Only 3 or 4 million French to UK. And UK was No.1 in 2019 for number of nights spent in France 19,800,000. That's a lot of money to say good riddance to over sour grapes. Of course, plenty of rich Chinese tourists shopping in Paris, and Russian oligarchs on the Côte d'Azur this year. ????

Ten passport control booths doesn't seem nowhere near enough to handle the amount of people travelling to France. I don't know if these are on the UK or the French side, but surely, Brexit or no Brexit, it benefits the French to get the tourists in happy, and spending their money. Make it too difficult and next year they might go elsewhere.

Might be a case of out of the frying pan, into the fire if the Cambodian authorities catch him. His face and passport details plastered all over the news -

Didn't an old couple get sentenced to some ridiculously long jail sentence for foraging mushrooms on government land? Not sure I would want to risk it.

Feel free to add more. -

The person that he had sex with should be worried. Its possible he either caught it from them, or infected them. If so, and it was a sex worker, there will likely be more cases coming to light soon. -
You confused me by giving T sizes. It looks to be around 3mm or 4mm ordinary hexagon or Allen key socket. But it may be an imperial size rather than metric. Are your keys metric? You might need to find a set of imperial ones. Maybe 1/8" , 5/32", or even 3/16" They sell them in HomePro. EDIT. I see you already tried imperial.

Approval reported for a bridge between Koh Samui and the mainland
phetphet replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
A lot of Thais I know travel to Bangkok from Surat Thani Airport because the fares are so much cheaper than Bangkok Air and it avoids the long bus journey. There will likely be minibus services to the airport as there already are with the ferries. One's own car or even motorbike is also a possibility for those prepared to do it to save money. Just park it there for the return. -

But people might be prepared to drive to Surat Thani airport and fly from there. Apparently much cheaper fares from there to BKK. -
Will I have to know someone of importance to gain a place? Or pay a backhander?

No. But the taxi driver will be rubbing their hands with glee. If it does ever come to fruition, it might at least finally force Bangkok Airways to drop their prices. -
