  1. Did all those red shirts die in vain? No lessons learned? All those Shinawatras and Damapongs heading up the Thai Police and no crowd control training? Two and a half years after the 2010 events?

    Can not be! Surely not!

Why would they want to control the Red Shirts? they were the ones that put PTP in power.

And for those that have forgotten, the Thai Police was no use for crowd control in 2010,all they did was hang around for two months+ and watch the Red Shirts hold Bangkok to Ransom, and later do their best to burn down Bangkok.......that's why lack of Police crowd control, forced Abhisit to call in the Army,

Do you believe Abhisit could make a decision like that without first making a phone call...silly boy

  2. He's probably being wildly optimistic. The police did nothing during the Red demonstration of 2009 & 2010 and they will undoubtedly do nothing this time as well.

If it's anything like around here, the BIB can't do anything unless you register a complaint, and that can't be done at the local office, it must be the one 20 kms away. When you get there, the only guy who takes complaints has just gone on his break, so you wait an hour for him to come back, 2 hours to get to the head of the queue, to find he doesn't speak English. They have one English speaker (just) who has just gone on his break, so you wait an hour...........................................

The police took action against the Yellow shirts. The readon they did not take action against the Red shirts, could be Big Brother told them not to?

Working on that logic. Why did the army not lift a finger to take back the airport. Who are they loyal to when treason is being committed.

  3. 2008 STREET PROTESTS

Court delays Sondhi's trial to next month

    File photo : Sondhi

BANGKOK: -- Public prosecutors have agreed to postpone the trial for People's Alliance for Democracy leader Sondhi Limthongkul to December 20 on grounds for health reason.

Sondhi's lawyer Suwat Aphaisak on Tuesday sought and received the prosecution consent for delay due to Sondhi's physical rehabilitation following his gun injuries in 2009.

Under Tuesday's original schedule, Sondhi would have to report to the prosecutors in order to acknowledge prosecution orders on three separate cases in connection with the 2008 street protests.

In the first case, Sondhi and some 20 yellowshirt defendants will be tried for criminal violations related to the twoday blockade of Parliament in October, 2008.

The second case will see Sondhi, his coleader Chamlong Srimuang and four other yellow shirts on trial for the seizure of Government House in August, 2008.

For the third case, the prosecution will try Sondhi for defaming former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The charges are based on Sondhi's rally speeches during the 193day protests in 2008.

No way Chamlong (the farmer) is going to prison.
  4. you are always snipping comments with no mention, but you only apologise here because you want to say "hey mods, look at this guy baiting and being derogatory"

    seriously,

You should discuss the topic at least once in your seven posts here thus far.

    .

and what was my first post about? a mission to mars?

anyway, i don't really have much to say about it other than i don't think sondhi will see jail anytime soon.

I stand corrected. 1 out of 7 is slightly better than 0 out of 7.

It remains to be seen if he does prison time or not, but with the charges just now being filed, it won't be anytime soon. As with other defendant's cases, begun much earlier, still have yet to be adjudicated.

.As for above, it'll be interesting to learn of the differences between that case and the slander case against Thaksin that prosecutors have decided on.

Why would a forum contributor aseloquent of you forget to mention that Sondhi has already been sentenced to 23 years and hes out free. The only case against him where he was found not guilty was Les Majeste. Funny that under 112 there is no right of appeal. He must still have a few mates on the bench

  5. Ah yes. Where were we.....

It seems to me that the geography of the pseudo-manichaeistic divide would appear to be roughly north south with the darker forces having a form of fragile buffer in the provinces that surround the Bangkok Metropolitan area.

Prem, being a Songkhla boy, would naturally be on the lighter side and as his career, both professionally and personally has been to serve King and Country, it would make perfect sense for him to take a stance that is quite naturally anti PTP.

However, given that he is the highest representative of the courtiers, it has certainly been his wont to be seen as apolitical despite the aggressive attempts of the darker side to taint him with unsupported accusations.

It is therefore my humble opinion that elder statesman Prem is not directly linked to the Pitak Siam movement.

Apolitical... are you snorting some thing. Why is it '"quite naturally anti PTP"" Is he suggesting the PTP is a threat to his lifes work. Absolute nonsense again.
  6. For fear of being accused of flaming or baiting I will just say to the people posting on this forum "if the shoe fits wear it". If it does not fit then no problem.

Phone rings: Hello, oh hello Worshipful Master how is the weather in Dubai? Yes I am logged on to TVF now.

Yes my Lord I saw the article in the paper about Prem. Yes oh Majestic One let me get a pen and paper.

Ok Sire I am ready. Ok..........OK.........OK..........OK.......yes my most Beloved Leader I have it and will post this on TVF so all the haters of your democracy will be ashamed hehe.

Of course I agree with you my Gracious Hero, Prem is old and should be wearing adult diapers and is lost in the previous 100 years. I will surely convey your message my Blessed Khun Thaksin.

    Has the medication worn off?

You are seriously suggesting that anyone sceptical of the situation in Thailand that does not conform hook line and sinker to the Nation/ Democrat/ PAD propaganda is doing so as a result of a direct line to Thaksin?

Dont be too hard on him he has a job to do, sadly few but his colleagues believe what he writes.

  7. I have seen the former dictator singing on TV while playing piano. Prem. Fidel Castro, they are in a matter all the same. They are becoming surely but slowly senile start wearing pampers again, have never held a tablet or used the internet and still they believe they understand what is good for the country. It is about time that we let them alone. There should not be too much attention for these old people as they keep on thinking that there opinion is still important. Prem is a dangerous man though just because the power in Thailand is in the hands of people with prostate problems.

    What a load of dross.

I am afraid it may be lyrical but it is not dross. Read this line

"I don't know General Boonlert personally. But I joined the protest because I love my country. I am an old soldier but I still want to love the country and to protect the monarchy. Now go read a million other editorials from these old boys it the same.. LOve country Love King Love Religion... So is he saying that the present government dont. And he doesnt personally know Boonlert, a privy council member who is ex forces Admiral not know a man who played a huge part in the last coup when he was in office. This is the problem before the masses would believe that now they know better.

  8. Other countries don't want to get into the rice pool - they'd rather watch Thailand drown in it.

What are the chances of Thaksin, Yingluk, Chalerm and Boonsong standing up and making a joint statement that this policy was a mistake, and admitting that their error has cost the nation hundreds of billions of baht? Buckley's.

To do so would be a tremendous lose of face to people who don't understand the concept of humility, let alone how to spell it. Which leaves one way of stopping this scam.

Big on rhetoric and bugger all else. Please tell us you are not advocating a coup..shame on you..the bogeyman will come and get you

  9. The Commerce Ministry White Paper, however, hits back with a vengeance. It insists that if the government had not launched the plan - and let the market determine rice prices - Thai farmers would remain trapped in the vicious circle of poverty, at the mercy of the rich and powerful.

Oh and isn't that exactly who is benefitting from this? The poor rice farmer is getting little more than he was before with all the profit being soaked up by the rice warehousers, millers and middlement. It is a national scam by the Chinese-Thai elite to steal the money belonging to the Nation. It is treason!

Its the government trying to close down this crowd. Its was never the nations money all the cash export profits went to onlay a handful

    http://www.thairiceexporters.or.th/board_of_director_eng.htm

  10. Is there any mileage in asking how this makes things better for Thailand?

A democratic government running rough-shod over democracy on the road to who-knows-where, and an obsession with 'reconciliation' meaning dragging up issues from the past which may not be supported by evidence.

Are we taking bets on a coup or civil war?

We will only have a civil war if we have another coup

  11. It is very clear that Royalists are not drafted. They have the means and the contacts to be issued with exemption forms. In a matter of fact no rich Thai will ever be drafted, most of them are exempt anyhow as ladyboys ....

The overwhelming majority of people in Thailand would class themselves as Royalists, and still manage to be conscripted.

After that amazing piece of misinformation, your statements continue downhill at an ever accelerating pace. Congratulations.

Please define a royalist as against a non royalist

  12. Dear G'kid, you wrote: ".....Can you understand now, why there was a near mutiny in the ranks at the time of the Bangkok uprising?

Those that do their service have no respect for those that obtain deferments or avoid service altogether. It doesn't matter which party it is, Unfortunately, the.... "

Please provide some support for your statement, especially your words about 'near mutiny'?

The Queens Guards were brought in after the general staff officers did not forcefully confront the protestors.

The same units implicated in previous military coups were involved in the confrontations following the replacement of the general staff officers with Queens Guard units. The concern was that the general staff officers were dragging their feet and resisting physical engagement with the protestors. This has been extensively reported.

In your mind a unit rotation equates to a near mutiny?

Being caught holding a sheet of plastic and a stick is very demoralising when the opposition turns out not to be "peaceful protesters" but a group of heavily armed insurgents. It also tends to cause anger both at the opposition and the troops own commanders, so in order to maintain good order and discipline, those troops should be rotated out ASAP. Mutiny my Rs.

Troop rotation my rear end. Water melon soldiers, Isaan conscripts mainly who they feared would refuse to shoot their own people and turn on their own officers

  13. Dear G'kid, you wrote: ".....Can you understand now, why there was a near mutiny in the ranks at the time of the Bangkok uprising?

If we are referring to 2010 in Bangkok I would agree with the near mutiny statement. All water melon soldiers were removed off the firing line and back to barracks because of fear they would refuse orders to shoot their own. Refusing orders is mutiny. Do you want anymore facts

  14. Nonsense predictions from an anomymous author. Jolly Rice boys getting their media buddies to keep their plight in the public domain. The pledging will continue until the current group of approx 35 exporters is put out of business. They cant buy rice now because they willnot pay the going rate, so if they want to keep making millions they will have to sell the rice buffer they have always held in case of social strife. Knowing with this buffer would mean the great unwashed would have to return to the fields before the stocks ran out. It is only necessary to have stocks for emergencys. The fact that this government is spending so much money to oust this crew shows what a threat they are to the stability of the country and improving peoples lifestyle. May not be all the rice exporters only the big ones who alledgedly help to finance PAD rallys and dare one say it, coups. There will be other individuals who will feel the might of Thaksin, only fools cross this individual

  15. He warned that those who received summons letters but failed to appear would face criminal prosecution

    What about fugitives?

Do you mean like when the court issued an arrest warrant recently when he failed to appear?

    When who failed to appear???

    sent from my Q6

A warrant for the arrest of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been issued by the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions.

The warrant, issued on Wednesday, is connected to a case involving 11.58 billion baht in loans from state-owned Krung Thai Bank.

The Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) filed malfeasance charges against Thaksin and 26 others, including the former KTB president Viroj Nualkair.

The case involves a batch of KTB loans provided to the affiliates of Krisdamahanakorn Plc, a major property and real estate firm.

According to the charges, KTB approved large loans to the firm's affiliates, despite Krisdamahanakorn being classified as a non-performing debtor of the bank.

All of the defendants, except Thaksin, appeared before the court and denied the charges.

    Thats who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wai2.gif

Hey a banking man. Do you know the story of the Yellow shirt who had nearly a billion baht of his bad debts wiped off by a bank executive. Sondhi Who now has 23 years jail time on his head yet he walks the street has a free man doing television interviews

  16. Why oh why must you deflect the thread from the crimes of one man onto another. This thread is not about Thaksin its about the the deaths of 90 people and what progress is being made. I understand that sometimes you must mention the bogeyman to make a point..thats acceptable. What is not acceptable is to use a tiny snippet about arresting non attenders into the zillionth anti bogeyman thread. That is not the main body of this article. Its about what happened prior to the deaths occuring and what role Abhisit ministers took in the creation of the CRES.

You must be Thai posters if you use the belief that if we say something a 1000 times it will be true. Thaksin is Thaksin for good or bad but we dont know what ABhisit is and the people of Thailand have the right to an open investigation which they never got under the last government. Why must you repeat how bad the PM and her brother are when all the world and the people that matter are queueing up to meet them. Who do you think readers of this forum are really going to believe, Head of State or forum members who keep telling the world that the bogeymans coming to get them.

  17. Nothing but naysayer responses. face up to it the world wants yingluck and her brother to visit and they know more than you lot. Please tell me where Abhisit or a Democratic delegation were invited or went in 3 years.... Nowhere as his puppet position was known by the rest of the world. He did not have the clout to make a decision without at least 1 phone call. Carry on the Shinawatras trying to get Thailand on the world stage for the right reasons not the wrong ones (snipering your own people in your capital city)

  18. Why not, you falsify documents, dodge a draft and than you sue because retroactive measures are imposed. Never mind, if he wins they should put him on the service and let him crawl to the mud with teenagers. Anyone who is rich and belong to the elite gets away with everything, military service is only for losers, the losers are the poor. Shame on Abhisit.

One of the top finishers in the last mayoral election only did one year of military conscription, but it hasn't hurt his career with Red Media. I guess this is just a news story which will take a long time to go nowhere - otherwise it may open a whole can of worms. Interesting that they are still targeting Abhisit in this way - they must still see him as a real threat to their inane propaganda and ruinous policies.

Never a threat as the 100 seat majority showed. Just dusting his cupboards. Anybody claiming to be uncorruptable like he did is there to be shot down.

  19. Prayuth said he had instructed his subordinates to stay away from the rally and said police would serve as the officers in charge of ensuring security during the rally.

Very revealing. Unlike PAD rallys which appeared to be guarded by ex and current soldiers the C in C has been instructed by Thaksin to get the message across that serving officers and their men must keep them away. Why would Thaksin think the army would have any interest in securing a anti government rally. When the cheap chinese grenades went in last time I with others watch as personnel in army uniforms removed casualties from the scene by stretcher. Are the army paid for by someone who telephones the invisible hand. Who may they be...
