My home Batteries are CATL LFPs and the manual says to charge to 100% once a week. Don't remember seeing about discharging to less than 10%. In fact my inverters would only allow the batteries to get to 22% SOC

I have joined 3 Thai Seal FB groups and the post popular colour seems to be… Black with some extra Black Lighting the Road or Seeing through the Windows seems to be optional

The battery’s capacity to be fast charged needs to be matched with a charger capable of charging at that rate. You would be lucky to find chargers faster than 150kW in Thailand. The economics of installing a single 500kW charger don’t make much sense as it could cost as much 6x150kW chargers to install. I’m happy with a 20-80% charge in 24 minutes.

I think @JBChiangRai will be cancelling his MG Cyberster to get one 😉 I drove the Fomm 1 at the Bangkok motor show in 2019. Sales were originally quite strong but newer entry of "proper" cars like the Neta V for the same price in the EV market have reduced sales to a trickle which is a shame.

@christurner3857 52 minutes ago Don't forget you can charge for FREE at any BYD dealership, and the network is growing fast. Saw this comment on the video I posted above. Anybody confirm that this true? With MG I get free AC charging when I drop my car off for a service but otherwise you have to pay.

The colours are free but not all are availably at every trim level.

I did comment on the video as EcoHouseThailand explaining that in Thailand there are number of freebies which effectively drop the price which are probably not available in other markets.

The biggest selling point for Tesla in the EU & US is the charging infrastructure. In Thailand that is definitely not the case. After a year in Thailand Tesla charging is available in only 3 location Khorat, Pattaya and Greater BKK.

BYD Seal is launched in Australia cheaper than the Atto 3 Although Aus based this video is an interesting discussion of the BYD Seal v Tesla Model 3 debate.

Thanks. My criteria was LFP chemistry, being able to drive to BKK on one charge (which is more than I would ever want to do) V2L and a reasonable price. There is talk that the ฿150,000 EV grant will end this year but This Is Thailand (TIT) I test drove the BYD Seal Premium and instantly fell in love with it, then it was no longer a rational decision

Buyers Remorse. EVs are like any new technology, they change at a rapid pace. 20 years ago I was working in BKK and dating a girl who worked at Toshiba. She was able to get me staff discount on a new 42 inch TV. 2 years ago I bought an 86 inch TV and it's already out of date. ICE vehicles on the other hand are a mature technology and any improvement year to year are tiny. I also don't think that anybody is considering investing in developing a completely new ICE engine which could be obsolete before it's ready for production. In 2018 at the BKK motor show a ฿2,000,000 40 kWh Li-ion Nissan Leaf with CHAdeMO charging was the only EV I saw. I am glad I waited, but how long do you wait? I have chosen to buy an 82.5 kWh LFP EV with V2L for ฿1,449,000. Will something better come along in the next couple of year? Definitely, but I am happy with the deal I have got and I will enjoy the car instead of fretting over my decision. Life is too short for all that worry.
