  2. You just proved you don’t know what you’re talking about and that you don’t know how to your check facts before posting.
  3. Black seems to be the crowd favorite, but I ordered a white one because I don’t want anyone to think I’m driving a Tesla
  4. Another cool BYD Seal Feature: The side mirrors dip on selecting reverse so that you can see the lines of the parking space
  5. How about seat and mirror memory for two in case you are married to a dwarf or a Thai girl.
  6. 0-100 time compared to price in Thailand. Where do you get most Bang for your Baht
  7. I know that Tesla’s are notorious for expensive repair bills and they are the top selling EVs in UK and Europe. Just watch the repair quotes mentioned in https://youtube.com/@WhamBaamTeslacam I haven’t experienced any increase in insurance cost, but EVs are expensive and can be expensive to repair so will have higher insurance premiums. Wonder how they compare to other premium cars like a BMW? However, they have cheaper servicing (100% free for 8 years with the BYD Seal) much cheaper road tax. Cheaper to power especially if you have home solar.
  8. We are a 2 car family and we already have a CRV sized SUV for taking Dogs to the vet etc. I strongly recommend you take a test drive in the Seal, it really is a drivers’ car. We wanted an EV with a longer electric range than our current car; faster DC charging speed, more efficiency - the BYD Seal has a drag coefficient of 0.219 compared to our brick shaped SUV. LFP batteries and V2L to support our home solar. I agree the Seal looks great in Black, but the white really sparkles, it is a cooler colour, doesn’t show scratches as easily although it will need washing more often. Finally, I get to choose the car (I’m paying for it at the end of the day) my wife gets to choose the colour (happy wife, happy life)
  9. In the past we successfuly got the loan in my wife’s name with support from my bank statements and deposits here. Any camera can be wired in without impacting warranty.
  10. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Window film is not free. This is what is free
  11. Forgot to mention that we asked the dealer about a trade-in. I bought a pick-up truck while we were building the house and it has sat unloved and unused for a few years now. Asked the dealer about it - she said that they could only give us the Tent price and yes it was a joke. Charged the battery and had it washed and polished, then stuck it on FB Market Place. We asked ฿150,000 more than the Tent offered and had a deposit within 2 hours.
  12. Update on buying my BYD Seal RWD LR This will be the 7th new car/truck I have purchased in Thailand, so you think I would be getting the hang of it by now - it has never gone smoothly …..until now. I was expecting a fight to get the freebie items listed below included on the contract - no fight necessary ???? Car dealers like to give you a copy of the contract, then ask for it back when you pick up the vehicle - what the heck is that about! “Yes you will be given the top copy of the contract” “Yes it is yours to keep” ???? Sun protection for the glass roof included free No dash cam but can fit what you like no warranty issues We decided to go for 25% deposit 48 month finance. I will be borrowing approximately 1 million Baht, but I have more than that in Thai Banks - always easier to borrow money if you can show you don’t need it. My wife has never had a pay-slip so we will be relying on my income We expected to have to drive back to the dealer to discuss finance, but they arranged for a bank girl to come us. She called us yesterday for an initial discussion and she seemed shocked I already had the amount I wanted to borrow. Will share more later
  13. No argument there, but he does post about Thailand quite a bit - just adding to the discussion
  14. Tesla considering EV factory in Thailand, reports prime minister after meeting with Elon Musk “Tesla is reportedly considering building an electric vehicle factory in Thailand, according to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin after meeting with Elon Musk. Last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to discuss several topics.” https://electrek.co/2023/09/25/tesla-ev-factory-thailand-prime-minister-elon-musk/
  15. Electric Viking is suggesting that we should be comparing the performance Seal 3.8sec to the Tesla Model 3 LR with performance boost 3.9sec and LR RWD Seal 5.9sec to the RWD Tesla model 3 6.1sec I think he has a point. Price difference between a LR RWD Seal and a std range Tesla model 3 in white would cost an extra ฿364,000 Acceleration Boost update costs $2,000 ฿73,000 Price difference between a AWD Seal and a LR Tesla model 3 with PB in white would cost an extra ฿522,000 Is it worth it?
  16. On my Seal test drive neither the sale girl nor I could find the regen switch ”Hi BYD, increase the regen level to maximum” ”Say again please” ”Sigh”
  17. On my MG the paddle shifters change regen level, but I just leave them on max
  18. Definitely. I contacted MG call center hoping to bypass local ignorance. When they got back to me, it was to inform me that a 7kW home charger would require a 30A PEA connection (with upgraded cables to the meter) and also a 3 phase supply. I cancelled my order for the ZS EV
