Why would BYD or the Dealer care how you source your electricity, just choose not to buy wall charger with them and install yourself or use what you already have

MG made it clear to me that if I installed the free wall box myself or fitted any other wall box apart from the supplied MG wall box it would invalidate the warranty on the car.

They had outsourced the installation of the wall box to a company that knew nothing about solar or EVs.

Anyone know if the ByD seal moved to one pedal brake driving . I know the dolphin and Otto did not subscribe to one pedal ( Volvo and Tesla uses one pedal)  i am not sure if it is better with one pedal braking , just different tech as   BYD does a similar regen process that uses the brake too for regen for a moother ride ).

I am not sure if you saw the posts above about adjusting regen levels? On my test drive, the BYD girl didn’t know how to adjust regen. My Regen was set to std and it was certainly was not one pedal. I could see the power meter go negative kW as I lifted off.

I don’t see any mention of the built in dash cam that was in the Atto 3 but missing from the Dolphin ( although the camera can be bought and fit to the Dolphin very easily ).

    Anyone ?

Asked the girl during the test drive and she said yes it had a dash-cam but I will try and follow up with her - we have left her a bunch of Qs she couldn’t answer.

Since the EU applies a 10% import duty tax on Chinese cars (the U.S. applies a 27.5% tax) compared to Thailand which does not charge an import duty on Chinese cars, has lowered the BEV excise tax from 8 to 2%, and currently has a healthy BEV cash subsidy it appears above EU and Thailand price difference boils down to taxes/subsidy.

Good point. Normally EVs are more expensive here. Be interesting to see the BYD Seal price in Australia when it’s announced next month.

Tesla model 3 was much more expensive here than in Australia

Brakes seemed extremely grabby but I’m sure I’ll get used to that

    I noticed that as well.

Did you work out how to change regen levels? It wasn’t obvious and the girl knew less about the car than I did.
