Just put down ฿10,000 deposit on a BYD Seal Premium (Long Range RWD) in White.
This was after making it very clear that I wanted to charge the car from Solar or the deal was off.
Most here probably know that I put down a deposit on an MG ZS EV in 2019 as soon as they were released in Thailand. The wall box install team selected by MG refused to install as I had solar “solar no good”. 2 years later after involving the president of MG Thailand I finally got to power an MG from my home solar system.
Don’t want to go through that again.

During the test drive she that the seal had a dash cam but today she said
“ไม่มีค่ะ
ลูกค้าต้องติดตั้งเองค่ะ
มีกล้องบันทึก เฉพาะ ATT03 ค่ะ“Not have
Customers must install it themselves.
There is a recording camera, only ATT03

Anyone know if the ByD seal moved to one pedal brake driving . I know the dolphin and Otto did not subscribe to one pedal ( Volvo and Tesla uses one pedal) i am not sure if it is better with one pedal braking , just different tech as BYD does a similar regen process that uses the brake too for regen for a moother ride ).
I am not sure if you saw the posts above about adjusting regen levels? On my test drive, the BYD girl didn’t know how to adjust regen. My Regen was set to std and it was certainly was not one pedal. I could see the power meter go negative kW as I lifted off.

OK will ask the girl today.
Just for information, when I ordered my 2 MG EVs both times I was told “cannot fit any after-market electronic devices as this an electric car. Can only use devices that fit into USB/cigarette lighter power supply not wired into the car” Had to sign a paper to that effect.
I ordered a MG branded dashcam from the dealer and they wired it in for me

I don’t see any mention of the built in dash cam that was in the Atto 3 but missing from the Dolphin ( although the camera can be bought and fit to the Dolphin very easily ).
Anyone ?
Asked the girl during the test drive and she said yes it had a dash-cam but I will try and follow up with her - we have left her a bunch of Qs she couldn’t answer.

Since the EU applies a 10% import duty tax on Chinese cars (the U.S. applies a 27.5% tax) compared to Thailand which does not charge an import duty on Chinese cars, has lowered the BEV excise tax from 8 to 2%, and currently has a healthy BEV cash subsidy it appears above EU and Thailand price difference boils down to taxes/subsidy.
Good point. Normally EVs are more expensive here. Be interesting to see the BYD Seal price in Australia when it’s announced next month.Tesla model 3 was much more expensive here than in Australia

Sorry to hear that your ordered model isn’t available.

I noticed that as well.
Did you work out how to change regen levels? It wasn’t obvious and the girl knew less about the car than I did.

I am at Buriram BYD just test drove the premium @ 5.9 secs 0-100 plenty fast enough.
Love the cooled and ventilated seats. Didn’t notice the glass roof being too hot.
“Hi BYD - increase fan speed” worked first time. The sales girl was very impressed. MG is in Thai!
I didn’t like the blue interior I saw at the BKK show, the black with white stitching looks classy.
HUD is great.Drives great very impressed want to buy one.
Like the way the driver seat move back when you open the door.
White colour really sparkles and unlike Tesla it doesn’t cost an extra 50,000 Baht
Prices released at 6pm today

MG made it clear to me that if I installed the free wall box myself or fitted any other wall box apart from the supplied MG wall box it would invalidate the warranty on the car.
They had outsourced the installation of the wall box to a company that knew nothing about solar or EVs.
