It has been in Denmark for 7 weeks and there are no signs of it's decreasing. More than 40.000 cases per day in a 5.8 mill population, which shows what kinds of numbers you will get when you test a lot. Some days we tested more than 325.000 PCR tests. More than 5% of the entire population tested per day. I would like to see the numbers in Thailand if they were to test 5% of the entire population in a single day. If we look at France that has almost same population as Thailand, they have more than 300.000 positives per day. I don't think Thailand have such high numbers, but i wouldn't be surprised if they hit 200.000 per day if they tested 5% of the population.

Any data that shows the % of omicron mutations BA.1 and BA.2 in Thailand.

We changed to the newer and more comfortable nasal quick tests in feb/march 2021 in Denmark, so thankfully never had to get a nose swab done by the old method.

I think most adults will find it a bit intimidating. Just because we had our temperature checked anally as kids, does not mean we will find that method appropriate as adults. Off course it's not a bad and painful as having a colonoscopy, but it's still not something i would feel comfortable with.

IF the virus is not detecable/present in the nose or throat, how can the virus in the digestive tract or excrements cause any danger? Did they test if the virus they found through anal tests are active virus or dead/inactive virus?

Here in Denmark we keep breaking the records. Highest numbers of positive cases today, just like the last couple of days broke the records and we're in our 7th week of omicron with no sign of it decreasing. We're seeing quite a lot of reinfections and now the omicron BA.2 mutation is dominant. That mutation is suspected of being able to infect you just after you had the omicron BA.1 mutation, so herd immunity might be hard to achieve. It took 26 months for various covid variants to infect 10 % of the population. It took omicron a month to infect another 10% and seem like it's going on. I read that the 2 omicron mutations BA.1 and BA.2 are so different that WHO might give BA.2 a new name. Not that it matters what name they have, but if other countries get as many BA.2 infections as we currently have, they might have to get ready for spikes again. The good thing they don't send so many to hospital but everything has a limit. We're at 46000 cases today in a 5.8 mill population, and i think that could cause problems if those numbers continues a few weeks more since admissions to hospital lag a bit. Hopefully our mayor outbreak will die or soon, so we can get back to normal. I think it will and we will be back to normal in March ????

I mixed up notes as well when in Thailand. At times gave 1000 baht when i was supposed to give 100 baht. Vendors polite enough to point it out ???? Maybe it's because their banknotes are so alike in Thailand? A comparison between Australia, Thailand and Denmark. Not talking about the art, but just that some notes are easiers to tell from others.

Did you try and read up on the effect, and see how many people are affected by it in other studies not related to covid? It's not something that had been discovered recently. It goes back to 1970 or so. Harvard had an article in 2014 describing that 20% of people that eat sugar pills as placebo in studies, experience side effects as if they would if they had taken a real drug. Or will you just claim they are allergic to sugar ???? The effect is real and our bodies are sometimes able to cure or harm itself. No magic, no divine intervention. Just atoms at work. We're just a product of nature and nature works in mysterious ways ????

I think the whole world has Covid fatique and it's starting to show. A lot of countries are starting to ease their restrictions now, even if they still have high numbers of Omicron. That's probably a combo of Omicron being milder and not causing so much problems, but also because the governments know people are sick and tired of restrictions. WHO also today recommended to drop all travel restrictions worldwide. I hope the Thai government read that newsletter..... Here in Denmark our numbers are through the roof. Way higher than ever before during this pandemic, but still we eased some restrictions 3 days ago. Now the opposition are demanding that the government drop the mandatory masks while shopping/ public transport, since Omicron are so much more mild.That's a pretty clear sign that some politicians know masks are not very popular, if they want them removed during the highest peaks we ever had. Austria just voted yes to mandatory vaccines, and i was a bit surprised to see that go through, now that Omicron has taken over. I thought they would wait it out, because i think in a month or two most of Europe are back to normal.

Posted a similar article some time ago. Everyone knows how the Placebo effect works, but seems not a lot know about the Nocebo effect. Lancet has plenty articles about this effect posted way before Covid 19. So yeah some mild side effects after the vaccine are most likely caused by yourself , but we have no idea how to tell the difference. I expected to get some mild symptoms, and i got headache and fatigue after first shot. No idea if it was because i expected it, or it came from the vaccine it self. Second shot just a bit fatigue and nothing after 3rd shot. As for the placebo effect it would be nice if we could find a way to trigger it automatically. They can measure the placebo effect in the middle frontal gyrus brain, but don't know what triggers it. It would cut down on a lot of ordinary painkilling medicine if we could trigger it by ourselves.

???? An Aussie on Samui showed me some of those those polymer banknotes that they use. They are totally nice and easy to clean if you spill beer on them, or go swimming in the ocean and forgot you had money in your swimming pants.

There are a lot of countries that buy a lot of quick tests, so maybe manufactures in China are running low? Here in Denmark the government bought more than 65 million quick tests lately for a 5,8 mill population. The transportations itself from China to Denmark is crazy. The last 35 million quicktests required: 5 planned flights with Antonov 124 8 planned flights with Boeing 747-400F That's some serious cargo flights just for quick tests. And i think China are laughing their ass off. We had to pay 1,4 billion danish kroner for those tests, which is about 6 billion baht. Almost 100 baht pr testkit. Seems Thailand managed to buy them a lot cheaper, since they can sell them for 35 baht.

I think it's 400,000 baht pr family for the deseased/disable (those numbers i highly doubt are accurate), mild side effects up to 100,000 bahtand the last with severe illness are 100,000 - 250,000 baht. Which makes a bit more sense, but the math still does not add up. If they provided a billion baht to 9551 people as the article says that's 104,000 baht pr person in average. But if you add up the examples they mention in the article further down it adds up to more than a billion baht. The article misses a lot of info, unless i totally misunderstand the article. Which vaccines are we talking about. Why should Thailand have such a HUGE number of diseased/disabled because of the vaccines? Has any deaths actually been directly linked to the vaccines, or did they just compensate people without any actual proof? Why has 7,037 people been compensated up to 100,000 baht for mild side effects? That's not normal to compensate for mild side effects. If we were to be compensated for mild side effects for all drugs, the world would run out of money, since there is not single piece of medication on this planet, that does not have mild side effects.

As for the ATK tests Finland invented tests where you just blow in them and they got their EU approval. Maybe tests like that in the future will make it so much easier to be tested without any hassle. As for masks. Sure, they do provide a small layer of protection, so in schools it might be a good idea, if it's the younger ones spreading it to teachers and their own family. Not so much for the kids protection, but more to stop society from missing teachers and others at their work. Some countries are starting to have real issues in their work force due to many in isolation at home. At my work we have to wear masks inside too. Annoying as hell, but not much you can do about it, but as soon as the numbers drop, so does the inside mandatory masks too in Denmark, and i can imagine Thailand will do so too.

That article is more than 4 years old and even if the same rules apply today, it does not describe it is forbidden to drink on the beach. Drinking alcohol in temples, pharmacies, schools, gas stations and public parks is illegal and punishable by a fine of up to 10,000 baht and/or up to 6 months imprisonment.
