Strengthening Ukraine’s Defense: The Path to Lasting Peace

Doesn't mean he's wrong How about showing us why he's wrong? You know... Evidence. -
Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
impulse replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
That's just mean. Funny. But mean. -
Trust those who put their $$ where their mouth is - the bettors.

My sister's Chatty Kathy doll could do that back in the '70s. She's just an updated model. -
158 dems vote against bill to deport illegals, who commit sex crimes

All that link proves is that there are forms of identification available. Now, provide me the number of illegals who have actually identified, submitting fingerprints and a current residence. Good luck finding that info. -

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to provide a link for that whopper. -

The key in that statement is "arrest rate". It's tougher to catch them when there are no fingerprints or address or DNA on file. -

Trust those who put their $$ where their mouth is - the bettors. Yeah, because no bettor has ever been caught cheating or throwing a contest. -
New Rules Restrict Street Vending to Low-Income Thais Only
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I don't know how much she made, but the omelet lady in front of my office made enough to go out and rent a storefront and open a restaurant. It's also doing quite well, years later. Making room in front of my old building for a new upstart. He even bought her omelet cart from her. -
Thailand Introduces New Bill to Regulate Cannabis While Keeping It Legal
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Here's my prediction: It'll be legal, with a tax stamp and as long as it's "blessed" by one of the families that "bless" everything sold in Thailand. Like the cig companies, and the beer companies. Either they'll make some of the money, or it doesn't get sold. -

I'd be all for deporting them, if only they wouldn't be back within the week. I'd also be doubly in favor of making them serve their sentence in the appealing prisons of the countries they come from. But that's a tough one to navigate. -
It Would Be Nice to Know Who Is Running the Government
impulse replied to DougieMax's topic in Political Soapbox
I'm also curious what (if any) role the voters played in the "Democratic" process. Big D. -
Historians will be arguing for 50 years why half a million Ukrainians did not die on Trump's watch. Personally, I think it's because Putin couldn't predict Trump's response, so he didn't FAFO like he did for Obama and Biden, who were soooo predictable. There's something to be said for a leader looking batcrap crazy. I think historians refer to it as strategic ambiguity. In any case, I don't know (or care) WHY Putin didn't attack during Trumps term. Just THAT he didn't attack and put the world at risk of Armageddon, until predictable Joe got in.

Terrorists always have options to respond. And Mossad has just minted thousands of new terrorists. A lot more than they killed. And not just in the Middle East. Israel is hardened, but I'd stay away from synagogues and JCCs in softer areas like London, Paris and NYC for awhile.

Borderline chaos: Malaysian tourists banned from entering Thailand
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yeah, and Baptists dance when nobody's looking. I worked with a couple of dozen Muslims in Songkhla. I chalk it up as one of my best assignments and my favorite places to stay in the world. I should note that I don't chase women for sport, and took the oath a while back. Mongers and drunks may not agree with me on Songkhla. -
Rewriting history? Again? Trump succeeded. Obama, then Biden, failed.

Not so many votes. I live there. I'm sitting there now. The stories from your childhood are true. And there's no stigma attached. I can't post the link I want because it's blocked here. The links I do have are "unapproved". Tomorrow... When I arrive in BKK, I'll post it. For a sneak preview, Google Lisa Montgomery. She rescues ducks and geese in Ohio, for the past 10 years. In any case, it's a hoot that they're still discussing Haitian migrant problems in Springfield. Had there been no "cat" comments, nobody would be discussing the problems. Trump couldn't have bought more exposure on a key campaign issue. DeWine has a conflict of interest when it comes to talking about Haitian Migrants. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/state/few-elected-leaders-know-the-inner-workings-of-haiti-like-ohio-governor-mike-dewine https://wysu.org/ohio-news/2024-03-22/haiti-unrest-forces-dewines-tuition-free-schools-to-close-doors Their work is admirable, but his judgment may not be unbiased.

So was Mussolini. For once we agree. Mussolini was far better than Harris.

Thai police shut down 21 villas on Koh Samui, foreigners evicted
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
Luxury mountain villa on a gorgeous island, renting for $600 a month. I may have signed a lease and risked getting kicked out some time in the future. Great while it lasted... Edit: Sucks for any buyers, of course.
