  1. Dollars to donut holes it's NGOs getting their money from the gub'ment. So basically, the taxpayers... But in the case of the Military parades, it's out in the open. Transparent. In the Pride parades, it's covert.
  2. I love Songkhla and the people down there. But they have messed up politics. I'm wondering if they're stopping Malaysian buses from going further north just so Malaysian tourists have to spend their money in Hat Yai?
  3. Don't forget the gofundme to repatriate his remains.
  4. That's true, but apparently they used to get more tourists from Malaysia to flatten the curve during low season. Does anyone know why they won't let Malaysian buses past Songkhla now? I didn't see a reason stated in the OP.
  5. The assumption there is that the parents can afford a car... they most likely couldn't. I made no such assumption. I addressed my comment to AN members who have money and kids of driving age. I've seen decent beaters in Thailand for well under 100K baht. Look hard enough and you can find one for 30-40K. In better shape than the cars I drove as a poor student at that age. Back when CBs were a thing, my handle was "Rust Bucket" and nobody had to guess which car was mine, even from half a mile away. But it was safe... Even with western standard driver's ed, scooters are 20-40x more dangerous per km driven than cars. That's from studies done in the USA and Aus. Drivers ed and helmets help, but they don't equalize the risk. Not even close.
  6. No. He just underestimated the depths to which the Dems, MSM and activist judges would sink. They'll be perfectly happy to destroy the country as long as it stops him.
  7. He did the math. No way he can undo all the damage that Biden did in his remaining 3-1/2 years. Especially with the activist judges and MSM against him. That would require 10x the daily deportations they're currently accomplishing. Not going to happen without blood in the streets. He's prioritizing. It's the sensible thing to do. Sadly.
  8. You lefties. You complain for months about getting your vegetables picked. Then you complain more when he listens to your complaints, takes them to heart and makes an adjustment There's just no pleasing people suffering from the syndrome.
  9. I implore you guys who have money and kids that age. Buy them a car. This would have been a very different story had they been in a car.
  10. I'd prioritize criminals, then work through the deliberate freeloaders sucking up free stuff on the taxpayer dime. By the time they've worked through those 2 groups, there will be another election. And the new guy can re-prioritize. In fact, that seems to be what Homan is doing. But that's not the way the MSM is covering it. Edit: By "criminals", I mean the ones who commit more crimes after they sneak in illegally.
  11. Most of that is being driven by biased media coverage. If you hear something often enough from the news sources you used to be able to trust, you tend to think like they want you to.
  12. I'm all for that. But that needs to be a starting point. That just confirms a minimum skillset. Continued education comes from trying to keep from getting a ticket. Which means enforcement and chase cars and speed radar and... and... That's how I improved. I was a poor student and couldn't afford tickets. Not unlike most Thai workers who would be dearly stung by even a 500-1000 baht fine. (And vehicle impoundment if they don't pay).
  13. That's what happens when you treat seasoned employees as fungible commodities you can replace with cheaper noobs. And I'd sure be reluctant to hire onto a company that recently announced 10% layoffs. To make their C-Suite bonus numbers. Not to mention, when the experienced guys highlighting safety issues are retaliated against, fired or just die mysteriously...
  14. -Rear Admiral May Dina of the Ream Naval Base -Wing 7 launched Gripen fighter jets on a weaponised reconnaissance mission over Koh Samui’s maritime zones The good news is that Ream naval base is far enough away from Samui that there won't be an accidental catastrophe. Fingers crossed anyway.
  15. The hang-em-high brigade doesn't care. Unless, of course, it's themselves or one of their loved ones getting banged up and sent off to prison for years. Then they care about mitigating circumstances like brain injuries or drug side effects.
  16. I'll bet she's glad she wasn't on a scooter. Helmet or not.
  17. I don't know if there's even a mechanism where you can short a painting. But the smart money would have been all over that. Except ActBlue. They'd still be buying.
  18. If it's like the past where the lefties pose as moderators, that topic will be out of bounds.
  19. Speaking of laundering, has anyone been tracking the prices of Hunter's artwork now that they no longer come with access to The Big Guy?
  20. That's by accident of geography and geology. They have oceanfront, ports, great weather, gold and oil. If they had decent policies, they may not even have a budget deficit. But the left votes for the elusive promises of free stuff, not for decent policy.
  21. I have a higher resolution version if he wants...
  22. Not to worry. They'll have a mile or 2 of high speed rail, any decade now.
