Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi leads Southeast Asia aviation industry
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I know the bashers will be along soon, but I don't care. I like Swampy. I don't mind showing up 4 or 5 hours early (just in case) for my international flights. Plenty to do, lots of good eats, and the eye candy is spectacular. And they have really upped their game on both ends of immigration. In my past 21 monthly visits, I don't recall waiting over 20 minutes, and usually it's less than 5 minutes. Even when the arrivals queue looks slammed, it moves fast. And the security and departure immigration queues have really improved. My only suggestion is to increase seating at the departure gates or require the airlines to open up their ramps to downstairs seating earlier. Too many people sitting along the walls and against the glass. -
What name did I call you? I asked for some information that would help people steer you in the right direction. And where did I say I used any of the workarounds? I said they exist. I also said my old laptop (this one) is still running Win10. That's because I didn't risk trying to fool Microsoft. I know just enough about Windows to stay out of trouble. Most of the time. When you post up questions, you're not the only one that's benefitting from the answers. The more information you provide, the more value the responses are to the community. Along those lines, thanks to Mutt Daeng for some really useful info!

That's a good catch, but there's still conflicting information from the OP. First, he's claiming Microsoft wants him to BUY a new version. They're actually asking him to GET a new version. For me, there was no charge updating from 22H2 to 24H2. He also shows a message superimposed on his PC Health Check screenshot that his PC doesn't meet the requirements for Win11. Rather than guess and speculate, it would be handy to know his actual configuration.

Those words should be put on a big poster and put up in every public place. I wonder if the current fad will be called Canutism in years to come. I'd disagree with JonnyF, but only slightly. What we can do is build robust economies to be ready for whatever happens. Regardless of what it is, and whether it's man made or a natural cycle, it's going to cost a lot of money (and a lot of energy) to be ready.

Without this glass house guy casting any stones, I wonder if the OP can post back what version of Windows he's actually on, and if it is Win11, which update? As stated, he's getting the same message I got when I looked into updating from Win10 to Win11. Though my first message was that my version was soon going beyond the service period. That was a few years back. I think Win10 is beyond that now...

Seems to me that the OP's problem is that he's not even on Win11 yet. He's getting the same message I got when I tried to update from Win10 to Win11. There's a ton of workarounds all over YouTube and other places on the interwebs to install Win11 on a system for which Microsoft hasn't bestowed its blessings. My old laptop (that I'm typing this on) is one of those and I'm still using Win10. My new laptop came with an already aged version of Win11 and it's been automatically updated to 24H2. Eezy peezy. And when they release the next update, I expect I'll get updated to that one. Until they release Win12.

Gotta love the new White House spokeslady: “The past four years, we’ve seen the Biden administration spend money like drunken sailors. It’s a big reason we’ve had an inflation crisis in this country,” Leavitt said. Leavitt highlighted examples of what the Trump administration considers excessive spending under Biden. These include $37 million earmarked for the World Health Organization (WHO) and $50 million for condom distribution programs in Gaza. “That is a preposterous waste of taxpayer money,” she added. The freeze, she noted, reflects the administration’s commitment to responsible use of public funds. Edit: Seems to me like people in the region should be sponsoring the condom initiatives.

Harvard Astronomers Mistake Tesla Roadster for a Near-Earth Asteroid

Yup. You caught me. I made a flippant comment about an amusing but trivial subject. But a smarter scientist would have done the whole 17 hours of diligence before publishing. -
One of the first things I learned out of college doing modeling on one of the fastest supercomputers of the day is that tweaking even minute variables can make a huge swing in the results. I also learned that modelers don't get to keep their jobs if their results don't meet the funders' wishes, and that most jobs and promotions went not to the most accurate modelers, but the most convincing. If cold deaths today outstrip heat deaths by 10:1, I don't think that warming things up a few degrees will result in more net deaths. That doesn't pass the sniff test.

I'm with OMF above. If you're month to month, why are they keeping you on the lower rate? You may want to offer them 2000 baht more to see if that's the real issue. If you do move elsewhere, you may not get that sweetheart rate. Fighting the eviction in court would be rather Quixotic.

Every day of every year, Repub in the WH or Dem in the WH, people around the world are dying because the US isn't sending money their way. We can't afford to fund every need in every country. We're broke. It's time for the lefties to understand that, sad as it is. And it's time for other countries to step up and contribute their share. And it's time to audit where the money's really going. Most of it's being siphoned off by corruption.

Why Democrats Hold the Advantage for 2028 and Beyond

Obviously, I can't prove he was right, but I can prove he made the claim: Vladimir Putin claims no Ukraine war if 2020 election wasn't 'stolen' from Donald Trump - World News - Mirror Online Or you can do your own research by Googling "if the victory wasn’t stolen from him in 2020, maybe the Ukrainian crisis that arose in 2022 would have never appeared.” The MSM, of course, is misquoting him. But it's all over the honest interwebs. -

My concern would be that she convinces the client that she's a girlboss and she's going to cause problems for him if he ever comes to the UK. -

The quicker they distance themselves from that disaster of an administration and candidate(s), the better their chances of salvaging any gains in '26 and '28. But they'll keep doubling down on Diversity Good and Orange Man Bad. And then they'll wonder why they lost. Again. As an aside, and completely unsubstantiated, Putin last week referred to the stolen election of 2020. I'm inclined to think his intelligence apparatus has the goods... -

She doesn't have to go home. But I'd suggest she get out of Thailand. I hear Bali's nice this time of year. -

Not true at all. They could put up a black guy. Obama proved that. Or a woman of any color. But they need a competent candidate. Not one chosen specifically for him/her ticking boxes. And not one that calls out half the populace as "deplorables". -

And it could have gone a lot worse for her. Banged up for years or floating dead on a beach. If they found the body at all. -

It took Trump's oversized ego to put up with the absolute crap show that it takes for an outsider with no decades old political machine to run for president. He kicked the door down. He'll be followed by calmer, saner people like Vance. But calm, sane people could never open that door. Ross Perot was proof of that. Meanwhile, it's fun to watch... I'm of the opinion that the founding fathers never intended a political class ruling America. They expected for good people to put down their lawbooks and their tools to run for office, serve a few years, then go back to live in the society and economy they created. Not to latch onto the gub'ment tit right out of school, with no real world knowledge, and keep sucking until they went senile. And then a few more years. -
