Article about Hua Hin, "the town where ANY older man can find a young female lover"
Good info. I've only been there a couple of weekends and I liked the place. I'm considering it for retirement because it's close enough to Bangkok for the amenities and healthcare if that need came up. I don't drink or participate in P4P, so quiet is good. If they had good fishing, that would clinch it.

CDC still recommends childhood COVID vaccines, despite RFK announcement
By definition, the CDC does not have long term data. Because it hasn't been a long term yet. And may I remind you that's the same CDC that presided over 4% of the world's population that had 16% of the world's Covid deaths in spite of spending (by far) the most per capita of any nation on Covid care? They either sucked at healthcare, or they sucked at counting. Or both. You'll have to pardon me if I don't believe them. But you go right on ahead.

Article about Hua Hin, "the town where ANY older man can find a young female lover"
Do you get that aroma of raw sewage that ruins many scenic places in LOS? I used to kayak off Jomtien and it was gorgeous until I crossed an inlet near my hotel. The stench ruined the ambience.

There's a lucrative elder care industry hiding in there somewhere.

CDC still recommends childhood COVID vaccines, despite RFK announcement
So you have long term data? Spill.

CDC still recommends childhood COVID vaccines, despite RFK announcement
For kids? How do you know what the long term risks are for the vaccines before a long term has passed and we have data? The short answer is that you don't. End of story, indeed.

There's always a catch. You gotta have money or it doesn't work.

Security Check Before Flight.
I miss the good ol' days when Mom would haul us down to the airport on Friday night and we'd greet Dad as he stepped out of the jetway. If we got there early, we'd head up to watch the planes landing from the outdoor observation deck on the roof of the airport. That was O'Hare. Simpler times.

Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
I do use my brain. So I realize that hopping on a scooter is 20-40x as dangerous per km as sitting in my pickup was. Helmet or no. So I don't accept being lectured by idiots who think a helmet makes them just as safe as me in my pickup with 2 tons of steel and seatbelts. Or the ones that think their superior riding skills (or a helmet) will protect them from a truck coming at them in the wrong lane. Or the ones who think a 99 baht BigC plastic POS that the scooter taxis offer me is better than nothing. So take your condescending attitude elsewhere.

Government coming for "...foreign nationals using Thai nominees to acquire land unlawfully."
I think the flaw in that plan is being worth less to the locals alive than dead.

Pattaya’s Safety Facelift Meets Skepticism from Long-term Expats

Those expats. It's always glass half empty with them.

Britain to unleash army of hackers on Putin
I'm pretty sure the Brits and the Yanks were doing it long before they announced doing it.

Youth on Motorbike Crashes Into Train in Samut Sakhon
I think they refer to that as a clue. I've been watching way too much Forensic Files. Puts me right to sleep at night...

Security Check Before Flight.
They used to set up a table in front of the actual gate and do rechecks. But I haven't seen that Post Covid. I don't know whether they focused on certain routes, or if they were randomly selected. Also don't know if they still do them, but I haven't been rechecked in the past 2 years flying once a month. I used to get rechecked on occasion before the shutdowns.

Security Check Before Flight.
Most of the airports I've used in China do a cursory security check to get into the airport then a more thorough check to get into the departure gates. The cursory check to even enter the airport varies by the airports. Some just swab for explosives. Others x-ray bags and do a pat down, just to enter the airport.

Britain to unleash army of hackers on Putin
It's not 1939 and Putin isn't waging a war to annihilate subhumans to make room for the Master Race. In fact, one could look at GDP data and argue that the Ukes will actually do better under Russia. The ones in Crimea did.

Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
True. But that's hardly an endorsement of their safety benefits. Especially the BigC 99 baht plastic jobbers.

Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
Dang, man. Don't jinx it. Or you may get caught up in one tomorrow. And it'll be on the one day you don't have your helmet.

Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
If I used a flagfall taxi from my apartment to the office, it would have been a 15-30 minute ride, depending on the light at Sukhumvit. I tried it. Scooter taxis got me there in about 2 minutes, because they could make a wonky turn that a car can't. I also tried walking, but that was even dodgier because there's no sidewalk for half of the 1km route.

Dress Code On Flight.
Judging by a lot of the get ups I've seen in the immigration queue, I suspect a lot of airlines just wing it when it comes to a dress code.

Reclaiming the Middle Ground: A Smarter Path Forward for Democrats on Transgender Issues
I think the tipping point was when over half the days in a calendar year were celebrated for some LGBTQ++ milestone or another. Even my gay friends were appalled. It made them all look bad.
