  1. You're the victim of blatant misinformation. It's at least 4 months of misery each year. With 2 weeks of spring, a hot and humid summer, and 2 nice weeks of Indian Summer before it gets bone chilling cold again (if I'm allowed to say Indian...) Is it any surprise that people flee to Florida and Texas just as soon as they don't have to show up at work? I grew up in Chicago and Philadelphia (among other places) and I love Texas, since 1979. But I also loved living in Wyoming now that Gore-Tex and Thinsulate mean we can actually move when we're bundled up and warm. When I was a kid, our woolens made us look like scarecrows because we couldn't move our arms. Buffalo? No thanks.
  2. I doubt that collecting any money was the objective. They just want to put the fear of God into anyone who protests on the other side. BLM, whose riots caused 10x as much damage and mayhem get off scot free, because they rioted "protested" on the correct side. Thaipo7 called it... Dual system of justice. Anyone who doesn't see that is either blind or complicit.
  3. I wonder when BLM is going to be held responsible for the mostly peaceful town burnings that cost upwards of $2 Billion in damages? I'm not holding my breath. But that may change in January 2025.
  4. I'm wondering how long before the MSM correlate the acceleration of Biden's cognitive decline with the start of the EUA's. Because some of the right wing media is already on it, like white on rice. I figure the MSM will cover it some time after the 2028 elections.
  5. Reads like yet another DNC sponsored hit piece to keep more Dem voters from switching their vote away from Biden Michelle, to RFK Jr.
  6. If they offered me the choice of pleading guilty and saying bad things about Trump and face a 500 baht fine, or going bankrupt just defending myself at trial, with a risk of 20 years in prison, I wish I could say I'd stand by my principles. But I'd probably plead guilty even if I wasn't. That's the way Dem lawfare works
  7. Have you been listening to Rachel Maddow again?
  8. Gotta wonder what's the rest of the story? I can't imagine it took him and his family/friends 5 months to scrape up $600 and enough for a ticket home. Which leads me to believe he was banged up for more than an overstay and working illegally. Kudos to him if he's actually gotten his life in order. Edit: As a cautionary tale, I'm scared straight. Doesn't sound like a good idea to get tossed into the IDC detention.
  9. I can't believe he got security clearance.
  10. Vivek and Ted Cruz have both come out this week predicting it will be Michelle, because the Dems need a DEI box ticker to replace Kamala. Lest they lose that all important 7% demographic... They predict it will be announced as late as possible so she'll still be in the honeymoon phase on the day. Or at least, to reduce the time available for the intense scrutiny that will start once it's announced.
  11. Did the linked propaganda piece also mention that the FBI has changed the way they collect the crime stats? Making it so convoluted that a lot of US cities no longer report. So the Biden FBI has to estimate and extrapolate. In an election year... Nothing fishy there.

And limited in area and time, as opposed to coast to coast, lasting days and days.
  13. A little misleading, since Soi4 is on the other side of Sukhumvit from Soi3 and Soi5. I walk that area pretty much every time I go to Bumrungrad hospital. The food looks great, and smells just as good.
  14. So you don't figure the outcome will be different since Swissman David was a foreigner and his victim is a connected Thai doctor? The pragmatic in me says she'd be ahead by doing what the cops suggested. But I guess she's free to tilt at windmills if she wants. Didn't end well for the Don, though. I doubt it will end well for her. I may disagree with it, but it's their country, their customs.
  15. That's not for me to decide, is it? I don't have to agree with local customs. I just have to accept them, because I have neither the right, nor the ability to change them to fit my foreign sense of justice. Or I can tilt at windmills, or go somewhere else.
  16. I've been looking for tidy whiteys in Thailand for ages. Last week, I broke down and bought some of the hot pink and lime green Calvin Kleins on offer all over MBK and Chatachuk, mostly as a joke, but partially because I was running out of clean undies on my weeklong stay. I bought a few of the one-size-fits all stretchy style, in redonculous colors. Turns out, they're super comfortable. Who knew? I'm wearing a pair right now, my first full day since I washed them when I got home. I may end up getting away from cotton undies. If I do, I'm going to have to buy some more conservative colors. I wouldn't want to get wheeled into the emergency room wearing these.
  17. Why do people move to a country, then demand the same standards they left behind? Monetary compensation is the local standard. They aren't going to change centuries of culture for her...
  18. More likely, he was a typical American homeowner. My neighbors both in Thailand and China are astounded that I have "so many tools", which are just a fraction of what I had in the garage back home. RIP to the guy, and condolences to the family back home. My family is currently experiencing a health care emergency with my brother who had a heart bypass last night. Reminds me how important family is, even 10,000 miles away.
  19. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
  20. +1 Starbuck's, Amazon Coffee, or any one of a zillion lesser known coffee shops in every town, most or all of them offering free wifi. I'd be reluctant to rock up to anyplace that holds itself out specifically as a "co-working space" unless I had a WP. Though I can't recall anyone ever getting caught out for doing online work without a WP (*), I'd hate to be the first one to get pointed at under some new crackdown. Edit: (*) I mean legal online work. I have heard of people busted for online scams.
  21. Anyone know if the BIC pen company has had a surge of orders?
  22. You guys keep posting that drivel about economic growth without the rest of the stats. Like growth in debt, public, private, and corporate. The reason GDP is up in the USA is the same reason that inflation is so high. This administration threw $trillions of borrowed money up against a wall to buy votes and solicit donations. And very little of that spending stuck and produced any tangible benefit, except to the uber-wealthy.
  23. And students praying that their $200K Gender Studies student loan will go away, and millions of illegals hoping the $10K they paid to the cartels wasn't wasted.
  24. How, exactly, did Trump's DOJ decide anything when the issues presented in the Texas lawsuit are still winding their way through the courts, almost 4 years later? With a goodly percentage of the rulings going against the illegal changes made by some activist election officials, without the required legislative approvals.
  25. I question the eyesight of the 28% that don't have doubts. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they're not dumb or disingenuous. Or suffering from an unmentionable syndrome.
