I can't think of a major city anywhere whose cops would do more than take down a report for a snatch crime or pickpocket. Even if the victims provided CCTV footage. In most cities I've lived in, the victim wouldn't even get to meet with a cop. Just a clerk at the front desk or an online report. Best case scenario is the cops will show up in plainclothes the next few days in hopes that the thieves will stay in the same place. But it would be pretty dumb to telegraph that undercover plan.

I've known a lot of guys and gals in wheelchairs who were perfectly fine getting around their house, and had a carer come by a couple of times a week to do laundry and heavy cleaning and maybe take them out in the wheelchair to do some shopping. Unless we know what the arrangements were, it's only a guess.

I'm not sure I understand the OP's situation. If it were me, the first thing I'd be inclined to do is to pull the window out of the frame and turn the sandblasted side inward so it never rains on it. And if you do splash anything on it, it's a simple cleanup job not not requiring the services of Spiderman. I'm also a fan of a frosted vinyl film instead of frosted (sandblasted) glass. Again, on the inside. So it's easy to scrape the old film off with a razor scraper every 5 years or so. With the added benefit that you can get a different pattern and/or color film if you're feeling artistic.

Same as a hotel. It is the same licence. What I meant is whether the license costs more for a 100 room hotel than it does for a 10 room hotel. For example, if you had a 50 room hotel and it costs 50,000 baht a year to keep it registered, that would be 1000 baht per room. Or is it a flat fee regardless of how big it is?

Just out of curiosity, what does it cost to keep a registered hotel room legal for a year? And mechanically, how does an AirBNB property pay hotel taxes? Does AirBNB hold out and remit the hotel taxes, or is the property owner responsible for reporting the income and remitting the taxes? Not to mention any income taxes in addition to the hotel tax. Then I wonder if AirBNB is required to report (to the Revenue Department) any amount they pay to the property owner, and under what tax ID if any? I'm mostly wondering if AirBNB'ers are competing on a level playing field.

Their calculus seemed to be that if we cut costs to the bone, we have a 95% chance that we'll make a nice bonus and a 5% chance that we'll destroy the company and we'll just have to look for another job. In our case, they did devastate the companies, but at least nobody died. We just had to sell off most of our facilities and lay off most of the employees. In fact, GE was in our mix, and things went into the toilet under their accounting geniuses. They had no clue how the business worked (and quite well for decades). They managed by the formula. Not hard to envision the same level of ethical turpitude going on at Boeing after the MD bunch took over the reins. I started using Flyco brand electric shavers living in China and that's what I bought in Thailand, from Lazada. I also bought one in the USA from Amazon. I've been very happy with them. They seem to last around 2 years before the rechargeable batteries go hinky and refuse to charge or do something weird like turn themselves on. But 2 years for the low price has been acceptable to me. I've had Philips and Brauns that cost 3-4x as much and crapped out faster. Knowing what I do about China, I suspect they're all made in the same factories anyway. I won't claim that any electric will get as close a shave as a wet razor. I shave in the shower using body soap, shampoo or bar soap-whatever's at hand. I also shave the top of my head, being a cue ball. The Flyco's are fine for day to day. If I'm out to impress a babe or a professional colleague, I finish up with a few swipes of a twin blade disposable razor. Obviously, YMMV. Edit: I stay away from the super cheap models and the 2 head models.
