  1. From across the pond, stuff like this makes Trump and his ilk look like a Godsend. Maybe he'll be taking applications to allow the UK to become the 54th state? If they ask real nice...
  2. Raise your hand if you think this wasn't the plan all along. Pretty soon, they'll be able to outvote the natives. Who will then be seeking asylum in the USA. Or Thailand, if they're skint.
  3. Is he forcing anyone to buy them (lest his administration withhold $ a billion if they don't)? Is he hiding the revenue? Is he failing to declare the earnings on his taxes? Is he denying he played any role in the meme coin gambit? If you answered no to any of those questions, he's less corrupt than Joe.
  4. Maybe. But that's not what I was responding to. That's why AN has that "quote selection" feature.
  5. With the highest spending on health care in the world (not even close), and one of the unhealthiest results in the developed world, something needs to change.
  6. The photo in the OP is the reason the Dems won't come back in '26 or '28. It'll take a decade to get past that taint.
  7. Next, he needs to require the CDC to turn over all correspondence, especially (but not only) with the WHO. To be analyzed by AI. I suspect there will be many skeletons in that closet.
  8. Follow the science. They're never wrong.
  9. Even the lefty pollsters showed that Americans placed a high emphasis on getting control of the border. Had the Dems paid attention to the will of the people (and offered up a decent candidate) maybe they'd be in the White House and have majorities in the Senate and House. But they know better than the little people... Arrogant bastards. Edit: But then we'd be arguing today about the tremendous increase in asylum flights into the USA from Colombia.
  10. And if you try to negotiate that prior gub'ment to gub'ment agreement and get nowhere? I'm tickled pink to see Trump playing hardball instead of being the feckless diplomat.
  11. That's next on Trump's list. A reverse Declaration of Independence... It's about the size of the state of Michigan. Used to control huge swathes of the planet, but it's fallen on rough times.
  12. While I don't disagree, it's usually $100 for the toilet seat and $1,900 for compiling the documentation that's required.
  13. Need a lot more context here to truly understand the situation. Reading the OP conjures up images of a Mayberry where Otis checks himself in and out of the drunk tank, Andy the sheriff doesn't carry a gun, doesn't allow Barney Fife the deputy to load any bullets in his, and the stores are on the honor system because the shopkeepers don't sit in the shop all the time. I suspect the cops know the guy quite well and figured there's no real emergency. They'll handle it the way they handle stuff in a small town.
  14. What about the guys with 17 separate convictions and a dozen stints in prison? How many second chances should they get before they're simply warehoused to keep society safe? Not about punishment. Not about rehabilitation. Just plain warehousing them, to keep them away from society.
  15. On this one, we agree. Unless there is a worldwide minimum tax agreement, raising the US corporate income tax rate in the USA will only create work for Int'l tax attorneys as the corporations offshore their profits. Edit: Or there need to be other consequences when US companies shift their profit outside the USA by IP and transfer pricing shenanigans. I've worked for a few companies that had shell corporations in low tax countries to which we shifted our taxable income. It's amazing how complex it gets. And it gets even dodgier when the shareholders in the different entities aren't the same, shafting the little guy shareholders, too.
  16. I don't know about the science, but I'd give almost anything to go back and undo my 2nd Pfizer. My quality of life took a nosedive the next day and hasn't recovered. And no. It was not a coincidence.
  17. You mean did he call they guy and start the negotiation?
  18. Wow. Another one accusing Trump of what he hasn't done.
  19. If Trump is able to implement a work requirement for the able bodied to qualify for welfare, maybe they'll have Americans picking those oranges and strawberries. Win-win.
  20. There are programs in place to legally import as many strawberry pickers as they need. There always have been. Who won't then be a $36K a year burden on the taxpayers. They come in, do their work, then go home. The legal migrant workers who aren't showing up for work are victims of lefty fear mongering. The illegal ones? Getting them to leave is worth paying a little more for strawberries. We'll make it up by not paying hotel bills and free healthcare. To the tune of hundreds of $$ billions a year. Trump didn't bring on this upset in the system. He's cleaning up the mess that Harris/Biden left us, hoping to turn states perpetually Blue.
  21. There's plenty of blame to go around. But my takeaway is that the driver with 2 tons of steel and seatbelts walked away with minor, if any, injuries.
