  1. I've been to Lancaster several times as my college roommate lived there, working for the Corp of Engineers at Edwards AFB. That was the '90s and it looked pretty desolate out in the middle of the desert. But if you're going to be homeless... No rain and rarely freezing. I take the mayor at his word that they're being inundated with newly released convicts now making up about half of their homeless. I don't know how California does it, but in Houston, they drop the released inmates at the Houston bus station with (I think) $25 in their pocket. My sister's house is a few blocks away and there's always homeless people milling around begging for money. It's a big problem in her otherwise great (and spendy) neighborhood. So yes, I wouldn't blame the guy if he was sick of it. But I don't claim to know the solution.
  2. Hey, there's a thought. Maybe they should include a TESLA parade and smoke out even more violent lefties.
  3. Team Biden insisted that he couldn't do it without an act of Congress. Surely, you're not saying he was lying?
  4. The legislation you're referring to would have allowed up to 5000 illegals a day before closing the border. Thank God it didn't pass, or they'd be suing Trump for not allowing the 5000 a day.
  5. Or maybe they're just not destitute Cheap Charlies who whine about getting cheated out of 5 baht by the Baht Buses.
  6. You mean that legislation that codified and normalized up to 5000 illegals a day before anyone was allowed to act?
  7. You're aware that she gets Secret Service protection... The same Secret Service that's been excoriated for DEI after multiple failures last year.
  8. When I talk about the new LGBTQCOD+ trends with my gay friends, they're even more disgusted than I am. It's giving them a bad name. Living the life is fine. Prancing around in cosplay, not so great.
  9. So instead of Orange Man Bad, it'll be No Orange Chicken on the buffet? Give it a rest.
  10. Maybe, but we didn't have a parade to celebrate it. Now, they do. Your syndrome is showing. Again. BTW, I'm looking forward to the time (coming soon) that there's 365 LGBTQ events on the calendar and they start fighting each other for recognition on "their day".
  11. Perhaps they're objecting to the fact that there are around 200 days marked on the calendar now to honor LGBT centric themes. With more added every year or so. They're feeling left out.
  12. More lefty outrage over a joke. In poor taste, but just a joke. Edit: BTW, I am a believer in the restricted bloodflow to the brain theory of neckties. Parris has previously stirred controversy, including his 2018 call to ban neckties in the workplace for health reasons.
  13. Look at who funds the drug studies coming out of universities nowadays. About 3/4 funded by Big Pharma. Edit: And even those funded by gub'ment, the authors know to toe the line or they won't get the next Big Pharma contract. University research has become a money machine. Not to advance science, but to get the next $$$ contract.
  14. Maybe not. She could be wondering if he's carrying it around in a paper bag. You know, to feed the ducks.
  15. All the same, I wouldn't mind seeing some studies not funded by Big Pharma.
  16. People seem to forget when Obama was referred to as Deporter-in-Chief. Most of them won't even bother dare to Google it now. Because they may read something that would scorch their eyeballs.
  17. The one that says they were denied entry just because they hadn't booked a hotel. Edit: And the narrative that this is something brand new under the Trump administration.
  18. Out of curiosity, how much empty hard drive space do you have now?
  19. Unless, of course, you're one of the majority that uses programs that won't run under Linux. Or, you may have the time and patience to download a bunch of Linux programs then spend hours and hours reformatting all your files because they never seem to get them looking quite right. If I were to get started today in home computing, I'd avoid Windows. There are great alternatives out there today. But there weren't when I built an entire library of files using Windows, starting with Win3.0. And I'm always opening a reference spreadsheet for wire sizes, and a ton of others I've built over the years.
  20. That's a common thing. Instant butthole. Just add alcohol. Not every drinker, of course. But that's one of the many indicators that he may have an alcohol problem. I hope he gets the help he needs. But in the meantime, he needs to be kept away from polite society.
  21. Maybe you're right. But I'm not willing to risk it.
  22. I'm pleased that they're letting us Luddites mess with the system to identify problems before they cause real trouble. I'm forecasting an issue in my case since I don't really have a legal "residence" any more. My last one, I haven't seen in over 2 years. And I'm not a legal resident where I'm staying now. But I'm pretty sure that will all be worked out before mid-May when I actually have to file one. If not, I'll enter my address from 2 years ago and cross my fingers.
