Thai PM Denies Amendments Benefit Thaksin's Prison Circumstances
He certainly has one to sport that haircut. You would think a billionaire could afford a decent stylist.

Thaksin's Jail Time May Sideline Him from Pheu Thai Campaign
As a convicted felon, is he not banned from politics anyway?, unless of course it is drug dealing in Australia which does not count.

Bangkok’s Living Costs Climb as the Minimum Wage Remains Stalled
So according to them, a person on 400 Baht a day has to structure their spending thus....200 on essentials, food, clothes, rent, water, electric, travel to work. 120 on wants.....like they are going to have 120 spare, and 80 Baht a day savings. If they cannot manage that then after a 12 hour shift sewing clothes, they must go and work cleaning dishes for another 8 hours, and then sleep for 4 hours before travelling back to work again. It is the same the world over, people are having to work longer for less just to make ends meet. A good way of keeping the masses in order.

Indian Overstayer Arrested in Nong Khai Hotel
I smell something related to bovines here. Withdrawing seven million would likely need notice to the bank, and an amount that big would certainly trigger a anti money laundering investigation. He must have opened the bank account previously as, and I may be wrong, you cannot open one on a 60 day visa.

Tightening of Alcohol Laws With New Fines for Drinkers
I agree, but the Hua Hin police are good at fining foreignors. 250 Baht for riding with pillion rests down when no passenger on the bike. They are very creative when it comes to tea money.

Tightening of Alcohol Laws With New Fines for Drinkers
Yep, not sure about the law on this one, but a friend in Hua Hin was stopped at a checkpoint and fined for carrying some beers, and a bottle of vodka on the back seat.

Tightening of Alcohol Laws With New Fines for Drinkers
Yep, I remember many moons ago we had a minibus pick us up from Don Muang, (before Swampy was built.), we were on our way to surin. The driver stopped to fuel up, but the 7/11 did not sell beer. The driver said no plomlem, drove out of the station, about two car lengths along the road was a mom & pop shop where we bought some tins. You just cannot make it up. Now of course it is illegal to drink those minivans, allegedly.

Yes, bars have always supposed to adhere to this draconian law. That is why most pay the BIB a monthly fee, so they can carry on selling.

Water filter cylinders backwash pipe plumbing.
Near Surin, but that does not have any relevance really to my enquiry. The water from the moo bahn is not great, but there is a spin down filter before the two cylinders, so they should manage the filtration ok. I just need to know if I am making a mistake with the backwash as the system stands.

Water filter cylinders backwash pipe plumbing.
Good Afternoon, Firstly, I cannot find DIY forum so please move if needed. I have just had the water system installation completed. Two frp tanks, one with Anthracite, one with carbon. They are fed from the moo bahn system into a 2,000 litre tank. Even though I soaked the media for 48 hours, and did a backwash the water is still cloudy. My questions are, is it ok to have both backwash plumbed together as in the pic, and should I have ball valves fitted to isolate each tank. Finally, the backwash pipe runs to a road drain 30 metres away, should I maybe cut the pipes near the cylinders and fit funnels in order to better monitor the water coming out. Many thanks for any knowledge that you can share.

British groceries @ a discount
Thanks Britman, I know that in the U.K. they replaced a percentage of the coco butter with palm oil, one reason why they lost the royal warrant over quality and ingredients. I believe it is palm oil free in Aus too.

Agree with you there, if you look on the packets they use a lot of palm oil now, instead of milk.

Polish Man Accused of Assaulting, Robbing Phuket Ladyboy
Sorry, but that should be HE not SHE, as for criminals posing as clients, how about men posing as women. Correct, the police should be arresting he/she for soliciting prostitution, or maybe he/she is upset that payment to local officials for protection was already made.

Manhunt for Indian Who Assaulted Phuket Ladyboy, Stole B10K
Surely not, that would be prostitution, and there is none in Pattaya as it is illegal.

MP calls for reform of Thailand’s archaic alcohol laws
Yes, that makes sense.

MP calls for reform of Thailand’s archaic alcohol laws
Clear cut laws would seriously impinge on the BIB's revenue, doubt they want that. What I need clarifying is that in the morning, say 9 or 10 a.m. or even earlier, I cannot buy a bottle of beer, I can however go into a supermarket and buy 2 x 5 litre boxes of wine, or 10 litre bottles of whiskey. Maybe there is a rationale there somewhere, but I cannot see it. My only thought would be it stops someone of limited means buying just 1 or two bottles?

Chanchai Issarasenarak: The Whistleblower Who Jailed Thaksin
Agreed, but I would be more inclined to give him some bodyguards, tell him not to fly in any helicopters, ride in hire cars, or taxis., keep away from tall buildings, boats, and maybe hire a food taster too.
