  1. I would tend to agree with you providing you live in or close to Bangkok. Its not very practical to travel for hours on end for hospital appointments. Just sayin like.
  2. Yes indeed but how do you find out who are the best physicians for your complaint ?
  3. The HMRC allows tax relief on pension contributions so it would follow that when the pension is realised they would want to tax the pension income not allow it to be taxed elsewhere, ''you can't have you cake and eat it'' I am assuming that ''anyone's personal income'' would include their pension income.
  4. Never going to work as the UK HMRC allows any income used for pension provision tax free whether its the employer or the employee contributions.
  5. BINGO, my mate discharged himself because of exactly the same disgusting practices, he was paying not an insurance company. Is it any wonder insurance premiums are skyrocketing ?
  6. I hope that is the case but i've just spent good time on their website and its about as much use as a chocolate teapot in respect of Thai nationals seeking cover lol But i could be wrong......
  7. Problem as i see it is actually getting what you say, its for my Thai wifey not me, can you recco ? TIA Sheryl
  8. Well i've just tried to get an online quote from Aetna and it would appear they don't insure Thai nationals independently, but i could be wrong lol
  9. Thanks for your post. I will get a quote from Aetna as i have experience of them in the UK where my family and i were covered BUPA TOTR by my then employer, my experience of them was very very good but it was a company arranged group policy and pre-existing conditions were not an issue.
  10. Yes indeed but surely the provider will notify you at renewal of any changes to T&C's ?
  11. I had a very unfortunate experience in a very well known private hospital some 10 years ago when i needed back surgery. When setting up the operation date etc i asked what the cost of the operation would be (i was paying) as they had not indicated it to me. Now this was when the problems started, they did'nt want to quote me the costs as they said it was difficult to do given all the issues and if something went wrong. I then told them that i was'nt prepared to write them a blank cheque and to please inform me of a ball park figure as surely they know what the costs should be. Well there was a lengthy conflab going on between hospital administrators and back and forth to me and i repeated i was not writing them a blank cheque. They finally came back with a figure of 116K which i agreed to and signed all the relevant forms. On the day of the op i was asked for an upfront payment of 50K which i duly paid. Final bill was 106K and i was happy but i do wonder if my non acceptance of their initial ''blank cheque'' proposal and the problems i was causing them made them think twice about bill padding me. In conclusion i would'nt ever trust these b******* as far as i could throw them, imo they are the ''kings of bill padding'', we are customers not patients and they are a business and have little or no ethics/integrity. I say the aforementioned based on lengthy experience of mine and friends of mine, one friend was quoted 250K for a back operation and the bill actually came out at 350K, he had no complications or issues that could have given rise to the increased bill, he paid it but let them know exactly how he felt. Just sayin like.
  12. Well i just tried to edit my post cos i did'nt realise i'd already replied to a post. Now this ridiculous short time frame for editing stopped me from deleting the entire post and left the above. Time for change Aseannow IMHO
  13. Thankyou, thats what i will be doing pronto. i've spent some time going through ALL the PC T&C and i have to say i've never seen such onerous T&C in my life and i spent most of my working life employed in the UK insurance industry.
  14. I tried Cigna, they would'nt insure my Thai wifey. So i then tried AXA 4 weeks ago and i'm still waiting for a reply.
  15. I'm only quoting what i have read in the press. I assumed that at next years election we would be able to vote but...............????????
  16. Thanks for your post. Its for my 42yo Thai wifey not me. I'm way past being able to get health insurance due to age and pre-existing conditions. I'm thinking she's very healthy and fit at the mo so a good time to sign up. Having spent most of my working life in the UK insurance industry i have good knowledge of how things work in the UK but Thailand is a totally different ball game, i'm concerned regarding how good claim payments are cos if they are sketchy i won't bother to get her insured. In the UK if you're insured and have given full disclosure when initially applying and with subsequent renewal then no problems with having claims paid, well you certainly were with the company i worked for lol
  17. Has anyone actually got Pacific Cross Health Insurance cover that they have actually made a claim on or do you know of anyone who has ?, if so can you enlighten me as to your experience or anyone else ? I'd like to be informed of policyholders claims experience. TIA guys.
  18. and what do you think i'm posted about idiot, try looking farther than the end of your nose..............
  19. I would never be a customer of ANY establishment that imposes a service charge, its my decision as to whether or not i leave a tip not their's, cheeky b*******
