  1. Not through the agent i deal with but who knows if they are still selling direct, it would'nt surprise me, TIT.
  2. What amazes me is there has been NO national reporting of this insurance companies financial problem, well i certainly have'nt seen or heard of any.......
  3. Yes indeed but i just could'nt be asked as a farang, i ended up losing approx 4K baht so not really worth the hassle imo
  4. Wifey had a call from our car insurance agent to inform us that our insurance provider was no longer paying legitimate claims WTF !!! She stated that due to Covid claims the company was effectively broke and was unable to pay claims. This was confirmed by wifey's brother who insured his car with the same company and submitted a legitimate claim for 4K baht which was denied. Needless to say we immediately effected new insurance with another provider. Anyone else had experience with this ?
  5. Yep i do the same, trouble is when its a delivery driver calling so if i'm expecting a delivery i'll answer numbers not in my phone book.
  6. Youtube Premium - 159Baht per month here in Thailand, no ads and suits me fine.
  7. From memory its just a staffed window that checks your paperwork and i can never remember there not being a queue of farangs seated waiting their turn . I have to say that Korat IO is imo somewhat confusing to say the least in respect of the correct queue to join but the helpful girls will soon point you to your correct queue BUT i can see problems when you try to jump the queue at your allotted appointment time, hopefully the girls will be managing the issue. We will see lol
  8. Thanks for the info, the one issue i can foresee is anyone who is waiting in line at 'Window 3' to have their paperwork checked is going to be pissed off if you are perceived to be queue jumping.
  9. Thanks, so how does the process work ? The girl helpers check your paperwork first to ensure that its all correct and complete which it never is as they produce forms for completion that are not available online (one form is only available in Thai) so i assume the appointment time is with these helper girls not an IO. These girls are always very busy helping farangs complete the paperwork so i can't quite see how this appointment process is going to work in a timely manner. NB - My extension is done using the 65K monthly income method.
  10. Ditto
  11. Thanks. Would carrying out the above procedure not be opening a new account ? I already have a Wise account and just require the account number and sort code to enable me to set up a standing order from my HSBC account to my Wise account. Apologies for my lack of understanding.
  12. Thanks, but will it give me my Wise account number and Wise sort code which i will need to set up my Standing Order with HSBC ?
  13. Thanks. When i do as you say it says ''Get GBP account details''. I want my Wise account details and sort code so i can set up my standing order with HSBC.
  14. Is it possible to set up a Standing Order from my UK HSBC account to my Wise account ? Also where would i be able to find my Wise account number and sort code ? I have spent time looking on my Wise account with no success. Thanks for any help with these issues.
  15. I would tend to agree with you providing you live in or close to Bangkok. Its not very practical to travel for hours on end for hospital appointments. Just sayin like.
  16. Yes indeed but how do you find out who are the best physicians for your complaint ?
  17. The HMRC allows tax relief on pension contributions so it would follow that when the pension is realised they would want to tax the pension income not allow it to be taxed elsewhere, ''you can't have you cake and eat it'' I am assuming that ''anyone's personal income'' would include their pension income.
  18. Never going to work as the UK HMRC allows any income used for pension provision tax free whether its the employer or the employee contributions.
  19. BINGO, my mate discharged himself because of exactly the same disgusting practices, he was paying not an insurance company. Is it any wonder insurance premiums are skyrocketing ?
  20. I hope that is the case but i've just spent good time on their website and its about as much use as a chocolate teapot in respect of Thai nationals seeking cover lol But i could be wrong......
  21. Problem as i see it is actually getting what you say, its for my Thai wifey not me, can you recco ? TIA Sheryl
  22. Well i've just tried to get an online quote from Aetna and it would appear they don't insure Thai nationals independently, but i could be wrong lol
  23. Thanks for your post. I will get a quote from Aetna as i have experience of them in the UK where my family and i were covered BUPA TOTR by my then employer, my experience of them was very very good but it was a company arranged group policy and pre-existing conditions were not an issue.
