From memory its just a staffed window that checks your paperwork and i can never remember there not being a queue of farangs seated waiting their turn . I have to say that Korat IO is imo somewhat confusing to say the least in respect of the correct queue to join but the helpful girls will soon point you to your correct queue BUT i can see problems when you try to jump the queue at your allotted appointment time, hopefully the girls will be managing the issue. We will see lol

Thanks, so how does the process work ? The girl helpers check your paperwork first to ensure that its all correct and complete which it never is as they produce forms for completion that are not available online (one form is only available in Thai) so i assume the appointment time is with these helper girls not an IO. These girls are always very busy helping farangs complete the paperwork so i can't quite see how this appointment process is going to work in a timely manner. NB - My extension is done using the 65K monthly income method.

Bangkok Pattaya hospital or Bumrungrad?

I would tend to agree with you providing you live in or close to Bangkok. Its not very practical to travel for hours on end for hospital appointments. Just sayin like. -

Yes indeed but how do you find out who are the best physicians for your complaint ? -

The HMRC allows tax relief on pension contributions so it would follow that when the pension is realised they would want to tax the pension income not allow it to be taxed elsewhere, ''you can't have you cake and eat it'' I am assuming that ''anyone's personal income'' would include their pension income.

Well i've just tried to get an online quote from Aetna and it would appear they don't insure Thai nationals independently, but i could be wrong lol -
Pacific Cross Health Insurance - Claims experience ?

Thanks for your post. I will get a quote from Aetna as i have experience of them in the UK where my family and i were covered BUPA TOTR by my then employer, my experience of them was very very good but it was a company arranged group policy and pre-existing conditions were not an issue. -

Yes indeed but surely the provider will notify you at renewal of any changes to T&C's ? -
I had a very unfortunate experience in a very well known private hospital some 10 years ago when i needed back surgery. When setting up the operation date etc i asked what the cost of the operation would be (i was paying) as they had not indicated it to me. Now this was when the problems started, they did'nt want to quote me the costs as they said it was difficult to do given all the issues and if something went wrong. I then told them that i was'nt prepared to write them a blank cheque and to please inform me of a ball park figure as surely they know what the costs should be. Well there was a lengthy conflab going on between hospital administrators and back and forth to me and i repeated i was not writing them a blank cheque. They finally came back with a figure of 116K which i agreed to and signed all the relevant forms. On the day of the op i was asked for an upfront payment of 50K which i duly paid. Final bill was 106K and i was happy but i do wonder if my non acceptance of their initial ''blank cheque'' proposal and the problems i was causing them made them think twice about bill padding me. In conclusion i would'nt ever trust these b******* as far as i could throw them, imo they are the ''kings of bill padding'', we are customers not patients and they are a business and have little or no ethics/integrity. I say the aforementioned based on lengthy experience of mine and friends of mine, one friend was quoted 250K for a back operation and the bill actually came out at 350K, he had no complications or issues that could have given rise to the increased bill, he paid it but let them know exactly how he felt. Just sayin like.

Thankyou, thats what i will be doing pronto. i've spent some time going through ALL the PC T&C and i have to say i've never seen such onerous T&C in my life and i spent most of my working life employed in the UK insurance industry.
