Getting a teenager to learn English in Korat
Pumpuynarak replied to surreybloke's topic in Language School Courses
I would recco a Thai professor and you can check that their English capabilities are as sound as a pound. My wifey could'nt speak a word of English when i met her 17 years ago. The lady professor came to our apartment in Pattaya every day Monday to Friday for an hours session and charged 400bht per session. With my help also wifey could converse with me albeit obviously not up to a high standard 4 weeks later, we continued to have the professor for a further 2 weeks before we moved accomodation and now she is very proficient. I should add wifey is not stupid and applied herself to the task in hand. -
Santander is closing my UK current account

BINGO, postal delivery in Thailand is hit and miss, why oh why we have these idiots posting about their prompt delivery expecting EVERYONE to enjoy the same service is quite frankly ridiculous, they don't know Thailand. -

All this talk about the UK's Royal Mail delivery time here in Thailand being acceptable is not relevant to ALL boardies. It very much depends on where you live in Thailand IME, my deliveries here in Korat take circa 4 weeks but mates who live in the boondocks can take as long as 8 weeks. Just sayin like ???? -
I appreciate and understand what you say but i have no problems whatsoever with complying with the 65K monthly income requirements in every respect and never have had, now surely i can't be the only one ? The whole purpose of my posting this topic was to highlight the UK deposit % rates compared with the Thailand deposit % rates and the fact that it makes financial sense to have your 800K in a UK account and use the income method for your extension if you are able to do so. My money will remain in a UK account attracting a far better % interest rate and i just keep a few hundred thousand in my Thai account for wifey's benefit when i pop me clogs until she can claim her widows pension. My thinking just seems to make financial sense to me but i'm not a millionaire who does'nt GAF lol

and that is exactly what i do and i have no problems getting my extension. Having spent most of my working life in financial services i'm always looking for the best returns on my money and depositing 800K in a Thai bank to obtain my extensions is just a no brainer for me what with the deposit interest rate currently available in the UK. But of course if you're a millionaire i quite understand BM's could'nt GAF attitude lol

I pose this question guys cos i'm seeing UK bank deposit interest rates up to as much as 7% when the interest here in Thailand is no more than 2% so i believe. It does'nt make any financial sense to me other than if you don't have 65K monthly income. Now i appreciate if you don't have the 800K or the 65K monthly income you're f***** and have to use an agent or a helpful IO Any thoughts/comments guys ?

That may very well be the case but i get all my meds from Siam pharmacy and i've never had a problem with availability. Their pricing is comparable to the government university hospital that i use.
