Isn't capturing escaped inmates the job of the police? Do Thai prison officials have juristiction outside prison property?

It's a hellhole of an airport
Just because you live next door to it doesn't make it a good airport
DMK for local flights is fantastic! I drive to departures and for the small fee of 100 Baht, the valet service takes my car and parks it in covered parking and when I return I leave the baggage carousel and my car is waiting for me as I step through the exit (next to the taxi stand). Swampy does not have a similar service.

As for the munchies and pizza jokes, sigh.
You'd be fun to get stoned with I'm sure.
Anyway, years and kg's of weed later, I'd say that pizza still tastes awesome. Nothing wrong with that.

Police extortion or illegal motorcycle activity?
Since the bike knocks over the cop and then runs the red light...I'm going with the latter.

They're basically just setting it up so that in a few days Somyot will come out and say he never borrowed any money from Kampol and when he previously said he did, he actually just misspoke our was misunderstood.
In fact, he never even knew Kampol...

At the time pf the referendum kost people voted "yes" for the constitution because Big P insinuated that if it was rejected, the junta wouldn't step down.
Well, they didn't step down anyway (And changes were made after the referendum)

No, it will be a short video because it is about all there achievements they have done so it won't belong. Question How many deputy PMs does Thailand have? Are they on the same money as the big deputy PM with all the watches?
To be fair a short video should do it: I once read a science fiction novel set in a parallel universe about a country where the ruler achieved godlike status, and all that was required was about 15 still photographs that would glide across screens with catchy narration thrown in for good measure.

Thaksin,

Well, that's hardly a new trick. But Thaksin didn't have a law that made it illegal for other people to campaign...slight difference. Not that he needed it.

But but... The guys fighting are all regular motorbike taxi with the orange jacket... Just sayin'
GrabTaxi and GrabBike drivers were originally normal Taxi and Bike service guys that used the app to get extra income. That is why I used the Grab service over Uber because Uber had the outrageous "SuperCharge!" or whatever it was called periods where a 100 Baht "normal" Uber ride suddenly became 300+ during oeak hours whereas Grab jilust charged 5 - 10 Baht extra for peak, but the flag fall and Km rate was still the normal taxi rate.
The problem for the MotorBike guys is that they have very small, designated pick-up areas and so GrabBikes would be picking up passengers in forbidden zones (Photo in the OP)

Yes the two are not linked but the WP will be invalid once the visa expires.
Incorrect. The Work Permit becomes invalid once it expires. It is not based on the status of your visa. However, if one gets an extension of stay based on work that extension becomes invalid when the work permit is cancelled or expires.
But the OP should be aware that the WP is not a substitute for a visa or permission to stay so when his visa expires he needs to get an extension or leave the country.

In most cases it would be down to socio-economics but I'm sure you're already aware of that if you have spent more than a few days in the kingdom.
Yes, because all westerners are richer than Thais.
I have spent way more than a few days in the kingdom and usually Sin-Sod is arranged between parents and is a symbolic gesture. And you're right it is about socio-economic issues in that the groom generally pays what is proportional to his wealth, so some people pay 10,000 Baht, other people 10,000,000 Baht. (The "million baht dowries" seem to be more prevalent when Thais marry Thais - you know, socio-economics and all
)
Starky's response might be closer to the truth in that it's up to the bride's family, not the groom's. That might only be regional though, because in my experience both sets of parents get together and have a chat about all details of the wedding, including the Sin-Sod. And yes, western parents are generally out of the country, but if they do fly over for the wedding and are expected to partake in a "traditional Thai ceremony" then all aspects of the ceremony should be respected.

I am not one to put down Thai's in general, but how thick are they sometimes.
This guy should be arrested and made to repay all the monies taken. If he is advertising it as a cure to cancer he should be charged under the false representation.
Well, the Catholic church advertises a cure for death - should the Pope be arrested?

What problem are these activists experiencing? I've seen multiple articles about the P-Move protests but not a single one explaining what they're protesting about. Is it just bad journalism, or does nobody really know?

The main reason for this very long military take over is so that they can change enough of the "so called) constitution so as to never have a elected PM to have such a strangle hold over the country that they almost become a permanent dictator. Do not forget this country has been for over 80 years controlled by the military and will continue to be for a long time in the future.
"The main reason..."
There's another part of the constitution that was conveniently changed (wouldn't have been possible without a coup). Can't say more and remain legal, but let's just say it involves part of that which the leprechaun seeks at the end of the rainbow.
"...controlled by the military..."
Pretty much a euphemism...fun fact: the Supreme Commander is not in fact the highest position in the armed forces

It seems people are missing the point: the kids didn't fall because they were not "trained" - they fell because the balcony collapsed! I would've fallen if I happened to be there and I'm very well trained, thank you

I understand that they could've spent some money already - I'm just curious as to what they spent 1 Satang on?
-
Slightly off topic: Does anyone know of a farang woman receiving sinsod? I know 4 foreign women married to Thai guys, but none of them asked for/received anything. I'm just wondering that if it is such a "part of the culture" why didn't the grooms' families insist on it? (Even just as a symbolic gesture and then the couples could've returned the money later.)

At the recent Australia-Asean summit in Sydney in March, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha showed off two rings and a watch, but had no significant contribution to the meeting.
Even the local press doesn't pretend to like him anymore.

Ah, but maybe our standards are too low. The powers that be read, "Could Thailand become a global people smuggling destination?" and see it as an economic opportunity.

And if found to be "unconstitutional" - (which would be more BS because once again the NLA members questioning the constitutionality are the same people that approved the constitution) - but anyway, if found to be unconstitutional, then what? I'm guessing 180 days to promulgate a new law, with 90 days deliberation after which the King has 90 days to sign it into law etc. etc.
So no election before May 2019 then.

Following their dismissal, they very likely will also have to pay compensation for damage caused.
Compensation will probably be less than what they stole, so not a punishment per se. Secondly, no mention of a criminal case.
So in Thailand, telling the truth about someone's misdeeds is a criminal offence (Defamation law version 2), but fraud isn't.

Another "m" word also had a lot to do with their historic conflict, and now that factor doesn't carry as much weight anymore so I do believe there is a chance for some red/yellow unity to form.
