  1. No this is the same as the last time he was going to break something. This is the politics of corruption. First Pita got it this year then they went after the MFP Then Srettha now they are ging after Big Joke. The only one that is untouchable is dying of cancer so they can't do much. Consider this raid as having done its job preventing him from the post where he could do the most damage. Once this blows over or the MFP gets into power I would not want to be anyone associated.
  2. OP Wat until a formal annuncement. There is absolutely no way legally they can tax you for 4 months with the other countries agreeing not to tax you for the same period. Imagine a snowbird comes here for 4 months and then goes back to their home country.

CPR was administered and the London Ambulance Service were called for additional support. Kaba, who was an expectant father, later died in hospital.
  4. What is manager Until the name names and prove it there is nothing unless proven. also we don't know if the involvement was part of the case to break the rings.
  5. so same as Canada they don't care as long as they have he Canadian address.
  6. If you are looking for an apartment just to sleep there are a few at Nana. of course the plaza is a top spot but also the Rose. There re a lot of hotels right around the NANA Bts that have openings. If you are at Silom then there are a few also. Best bet is to decide where you want to flop or where you are going drinking and then book a room either using a website or calling in advance. I also have the last train at 11 bs. Also check with cabbies for the same price one might drive you home.
  7. Going to be a lot of upset Thai and indians in the NAN area. LOL
  8. Have you thought of taking up skating
  9. Canada is the same banks want a Canadian address or will close the account. I also think this applies to some american banks but not positive
  10. Knowing where you are is different than having an address in your home country. Been here 12 years have an address in Canada the bank has my Thai phone number and actually uses it for OTP. When I call they used to ask how much longer i was going to be out of the country. Just get a PO Box
  11. I have to say that I find this interesting. There is a lot of smoke but I need to see some meat. \ To some of these people that hate him and do not want him as Chief it is the imperfect storm. Think of all the crap people have dug up on politicians they don't like take Pita for an example. Hate to use trump as an example but it is easy to get an arrest warrant all you need do is give a judge a brown envelope or find a judge that has an axe to grind or could be affected by Big Joke taking over. The trick is proving that it is as big a crime as they want people to believe and getting the conviction. As to 30 people hell how many of the lower class don't have a wager on a football game or a fight. Unless someone shows me proof that he has done anything wrong or senior people in his staff that work directly for him are involved I tend to take this with a grain of salt.
  12. and that is not the new part. The interesting thing is when they sold the idea of the BTS and new lines it was with the promise that they would recoup the casts through ridership and advertising.
  13. Yeah but I am not Thai. Part of the reason I am living here is my pension goes farther than it would in Canada. The pension system here is stil in the 1970's when the families were more nuclear. The oldest son and wife worked, and his mother and father stayed with them and looked after the family. Now, with the cost of living and expenses that no longer is as feasible. I know you have been in the country long enough that even you do not believe what you wrote could ever happen under the present Thai system or for that matter, I think, under an MFP government. Any attempt at that would immediately force a coup paid for by the elites that own all the property you are talking about. But even then you are stil agreeing with me because people that do not use the BTS are going to have to pay more taxes. Remember none of the smart owners own any of the land it is owned by a company which may pay a little more but will write it off. The people that screwed in the deal of property assessment are the middle class here just as in most Western societies.
  14. Can anyone tell me when the PT had a long-term economic plan? But then again, they are usually not in power long enough to affect one. Usually, they do the damage to the economy and get the boot. People don't have time to see what happens, and the media does not cover the back blast and damage due to Art 112 and Thai defamation laws. Even the teens I teach agree they don't want the money. They would rather see it given to their grandparents in the form of a better pension.. As to the biweekly I have to laugh GF came home all upset that the world was coming to an end. Thought she had been laid off by the hospital. Then I found out she was upset because the PT was screwing her and taking her money by paying her twice a month. LOL Now, if they can only get the banks to calculate mortgages on the same system it would be great.
  15. CEASE IMMEDIATELY ALL THE MONEY DONATED. Take the girl into protective custody with Social Service. The fact that he is who he is should be enough to show that the child is in danger. Birth records would show if there were any anomalies with the birth. Oh yeah charge them and put them in jail awaiting trial. May not have to worry about trial.
  16. The thing that Thais ddo not realize is that lowering the Fuel, electric, BTS costs is nice sounding but really people forget that someone has to pay the difference. PTT still has to pay the market price. so it works like this : lower price at pump + more income tax = fuel price lower electric price people pay + tax dollars or less maintenance of the system BTS the red line is an easy drop because the line is brand new, BUT it is still going to cost 80 million baht loss a year. Who is going to pay that simple taxpayers that don't use the system as well as those that do? People are still going to pay the same price if not more, just in a different way. At least Uncle Tu kept the deficit lower. Imagine if Srettha instead of giving everyone 10 k he took that money and added it to people who are retired and need the money.
  17. That's easy. He is still in power
  18. My god thank you for the laugh. You do realize that almost all if not all the restaurants that he visited were a. In hawk up to their eyeballs. b had incompetent ownership c. just did not have the location or ability. If you look at the immediate follow-ups is that they were able to make money and had a great turnout. Then they either went back to the old ways did not listen at all or were so far behind they lost licences and the government shut them down. la galleria went 6 years after he left https://www.realitytvrevisited.com/2012/06/us-season-6-la-galleria-33.html Then there was https://www.realitytvrevisited.com/2013/05/us-season-6-amys-baking-company.html
  19. First Ramsey will not be cooking. second I think this restaurant will be like many. For the 2024 business year, it will do great as a novelty. Yes it will h ave it's regulars but I think most Thais will want to get their photo op of them and their food for facebook or IG and then that will be it.
  20. You do realize that these grip and grins in outside countries are put together by the embassy who only make sure the right people are there.
  21. This may sound crazy but I have to wonder if the country is any better off with this mickey mouse club they have now or when he was in power. Time will tell but at least he was ot openly spending so much money on such stupidity.
  22. Another group of high priced restaurants in high priced malls. EMQuartier seems to have a lot of great stores the only thing is that I seldom see anyone buying in any of them except Kinokuniya. Just like all these office buldings that they are bulding I have a feeling that there is going ot be a bust in the next 10 years.
  23. Actually, a lot of suicide patients and attempters do it in public or where they can be found if they are at the last stage of trying to get help or find a way out. I personally know of 1 guy who attempted it with pills and booze because he was sp frustrated with is life. He called the military VA and told them what he was doing and what he had done. Luckily for him, the police came and investigated. How do I know this is true the person who did it was me and it was my second attempt. While on my 72-hour, mandatory hold met a lot of people like me who had reached the point where we felt there was nothing left but pain and, through various methods, had attempted only to be found by loved ones before. I also know of people who found that things were too hard and that everything was going pear-shaped and killed themselves by hanging and rifle. The biggest question everyone had was why. Not why did he do it, but why did we not notice something was off? The biggest hint that I have seen and heard of is that a person who has been depressed and upset all of a sudden seems to be happier. That is because they have made the decision usually and are at peace with themselves. The challenge with most suicides is that you do not know the person is contemplating it or going to carry it out until it is too late. People that are depressed and or think life sucks need help. No, it is not always a Psychologist but it sometimes can just be a friend spending time and talking. letting them tell the story and not trying to tell them that it is not that bad. That things will get better. Sorry, it is that bad in their mind and in their mind it will not get better it is only going to get worse.
  24. The challenge is that the location of the Red Line ending in Rangsit is so out of the way. Yes, they will get more riders but the problem is going to be parking for all the people that drive to the stations. Even at Khu Kot with it's "high" ticket price if you are not parked by 630 in the morning you probably are not going to get a parking spot. You can do this with this line for awhile because everything is new so there is very little maint cost. Let's see what happens when they raise the min wage, and things start to need repair or sched maint. Yeah, the other side of things is where is all this money coming from and not even taxing people who live here from out of the country is going to help. People are going to think all these things are great and wonderful until the bottom falls out. Considering the beating the Baht is taking this week it will only get worse. PT has always been a give the people what they want be populist nd be nice. Reality has nev er been in the vocabulary. If I was Srettha I would be looking at getting out of the position fast before things go sour and he is blamed in court just like the Shin family has all dealt with.
  25. In Pats the walk ways that are there are junk anyway and need to be rebuilt As to the opic where is the pedestrian walk way for a non handicap person lol
