  1. I had sent my 90 day report, by EMS, and hadn't received the reply, when I went to renew my retirement stamp at Phitsanulok Immigration. I asked about the 90 day report, while I was there, and they showed me a book with all the 90 day reports listed in it, including mine, and when they had sent back the receipt. I would imagine all Immigration Offices do this.
My receipt finally arrived a few days later. Always keep your receipt from the Post Office, for proof that you have posted your report.

  2. I read somewhere that the Thai embassy in London get an average of 18 Thai women every day wanting to go back home due to abuse. coffee1.gif

Wonder if the Thai Embassy in London is as helpful as the British Embassy in Bangkok?

When my wife tried to contact the Thai Embassy in London, a few years ago, they didn't even answer the phone. She tried lots of times, (and it was the correct number), before giving up. Hopefully they will have improved since then.

  3. There's always two sides to every story. We were in Bangkok, earlier this week, and while they were several taxi drivers who did not want to use the meter, the ones who did use it, were very friendly and efficient. Perhaps it would help customers to report the bad taxi drivers, if the drivers were made to put their licences on the passenger window, so that their numbers could be easily noted down, for folks who want to do that.

  4. Can anyone please advise me where I can get my wife's Thai ID card and blue address book (Tambien baan), translated into English and which is approved and will be accepted by the UK passport office ? We live up north, and are going to have to travel down to Bangkok to do this, and also go to the passport renewal place.

Just to clarify, my wife (Thai) needs to renew her UK passport.
