  1. Hi, My Truemove internet has been painfully slow for over a week, so I contacted them, and they have told me that my package of internet usage (899 baht a month), includes BOTH download and uploads to a total of 5 GB !
I have been with them over a year, and this has never been the case before, are the local shop trying to BS me, or have they suddenly changed their package ?
I have written to them on Facebook, and asked them to supply the name and address of their Managing Director, so I can complain directly to him, but I'm not hopeful of a reply !
Is this the same with other internet providers, that both uploads and downloads are included in the package price, because I really want to tell them where to shove their internet !
Thanks for any comments / advice.

  2. Thanks to all for replies and advice. I don't have a computer with a HDMI port, so I'm hoping to be able to try out the UKTV player on my laptop, save a programme to hard disk and watch it on my TV, (via the USB connection), to see if it will work that way.
Unfortunately my Truemove 3g is STILL at under 300 kbps, so I'll have to wait to try it out.
I'm also hoping I can get TOT WiNet in Phetchabun.

  3. I enquired at my local satellite supplier about the possibility of getting ITV Choice on our CTH package. We saw it at a hotel we stayed at in Bangkok and would like it here in Phetchabun.
The supplier rang us this afternoon to offer us a box, as the channel is not available on satellite. This box will let us watch ITV Choice and other UK channels, over the internet.
The cost of this box is 8500 baht, which includes 1 years subscription fees, which apparently go down to around 4000 baht a year in the second year. He has offered to install the box for a few days so that we can try it.
My internet package is with True move 3G, which to be honest is hopeless, it's really slow at the moment , and has been for a week, despite my complaints to them. I also only have a 5 Gb maximum monthly download with True.
Will this box work ? Has anyone else experience of this, as my internet / computer knowledge is very limited.
Will it use up all of my download capacity, or are there other suppliers who give higher monthly downloads?
Is this an expensive solution ? I don't mind paying if it works, but I don't want to be ripped off.
Any advice welcome, thanks in advance.

  4. Really OMGImInPattaya ? Perhaps you should leave the bars from time to time, mate ! wink.png

They were plentiful but a little expensive up until a couple of years ago, we could even get them in Phetchabun at one time. All the big supermarkets used to sell them, but we were unable to get them the last couple of times we were in Pattaya. I actually prefer tinned grapefruit, (in juice), but I've never seen those anywhere in Thailand.

  5. Does anyone know if it possible to buy Kung <deleted> / Karate equipment in Pattaya, for example practice Nunchakus, the light kind so that my students (family members), don't hurt themselves practicing ? Or practice swords, preferably wooden ?

Is there a gym in Pattaya I can join for while I am staying there, (just for a few days) ?

Thank you for any and all replies.

  6. Hi, We are coming down to Pattaya for a few days, and I'd like to get some stocks of these UK foods and sweets if possible.
    Looking for :
Suet Dumpling mix - preferably vegetarian,
    Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup,
Brussels Sprouts, preferably fresh not frozen, we live a long way from Pattaya
Pot Noodles - the kind available in the UK, preferably curry flavour
    Tins of New Potatoes
    Grapefruits
    Dime Bars
    Bassetts Sherbert Fountains
Pea Soup - preferably Ainsley Harriott packet variety.
    Tins of Rice Pudding

Thanks for any and all replies, much appreciated.

  7. I update my UK will by email, with my Solicitor in England. I did the original in this way too, I had two people I know in my village (who can read and write in English), witness it for me.

  8. It is against Thai law to be here without a valid passport. Which is why people are allowed to submit a copy of their passport for renewal to Hong Kong. I renewed my UK passport last year, (via Hong Kong), only took a few weeks. Read the advice carefully for the forms, black pens ONLY are allowed, and the photo background is very important, I had mine done at a local photographic shop, they adjusted the background colour on their computer.
