Thanks, I'll try those directions, Charlie H.
Sorry, didn't see your comment until today, Stoneyboy ! -
Thanks for the replies we had a look in Makro and Tesco and couldn't see anything, will try Big C and then try to find the Zebra Shop.
I want them for making rice pudding primarily, (if I can find short grain rice anywhere), though I'm sure I'll find other uses.
I'm new to cooking, can you tell ? -
Anyone know where I can get some oven proof dishes in Phetchabun ? Pyrex or similar quality. Thanks.

Thanks for all replies, apologies for not replying earlier, our electricity has been off all morning.
We have decided to go to the office in person, hopefully tomorrow, my wife is trying to book a taxi to take us now. -
Just realised my 90 day report is due on the 9th (Monday), but if I post it on that day, the earliest immigration will get it will be the 10th. Will this be OK or will I have to pay a fine ?

Ultrasound for prostate, approx 2,500 Baht at St Louis, in Bangkok.
-
There are a few posts from members (no pun intended), who seem fearful of having a doctors finger check their prostate.
I had mine checked yesterday by ultrasound, costs a bit more, but is painless. If you think you have prostate problems get it checked out, don't delay. -
I have just used Phetchabun Hospital, after being bitten by a dog, and have used my card with no problems.

The Hospital gave me a first Anti-Rabies injection, (with three more to follow, two this week, and one in a months time, plus a Tetanus injection, (it had been many years since I had one), and a short course of anti-biotics. I used the local Government hospital (I have a foreigner medical card), and was very impressed with the service I received. Thank you to all on here for your good advice, and replies to my questions.

Thanks for the replies. The wound has bled a lot over night, so we are going to the local hospital to get it checked out today. I am worried in case they want to give me antibiotics though.

I've just been bitten by one of our pet dogs, (who have all been vaccinated for several years, against Rabies). Do I need to go to Hospital tomorrow ? It's curfew time at present. I am worried about infection, as I only have one kidney. Any advice ?

I've never been asked to make a withdrawal by immigration from the fixed deposit account I use. I leave it in the Bank year after year, and never withdraw from it. I'd strongly advise against making a withdrawal before you go to Immigration.

I've seen Donovan live a couple of times, once at Bickershaw Festival, in the 70s, and also at Middlesbrough in the late 80s / early 90s. His concerts are really good, well worth seeing.

I have the photos, thanks, taken a week ago. I've never had problems with bank details from the day before, we have to travel 3 hours to our nearest Immigration office. I'm married, and the officers have always accepted where I live, possibly because that is where my 90 day renewals go to.
I don't lease where I live, we built a house here 12 years ago.
Thanks again to everyone for help, much appreciated. -
Thank you both for your replies, much appreciated. We have a 2 1/2 hour journey to Immigration, thought it best to check first. I have a yellow book, I'll take that with us, just in case.

Have there been any changes over the last year to requirements for renewal of the retirement stamp, in my passport ?
I have 800 K in a Thai bank, been there for several years.
Letter from the bank, stating amount in the account is greater than 800K, dated the day before we go, and copies of all pages in the Bank book, up to and including the day before we go to immigration.
Copies of Passport photo page, previous retirement stamp, last entry, Immigration departure card, and original "O" visa from UK, (copied from old passport by Immigration a couple of years ago).
All copies are signed by me.
Have I forgotten anything ? Or has anything been added since last year ? -
Thanks to all for your replies. My apologies for not replying sooner, fearsome thunderstorms last night, and we've been to a funeral today. Certainly plenty to think about.

How do I go about paying that ? I live a long way from Bangkok.

I'd like to buy a Kindle for reading e-books and have it posted to me over here (I know Amazon don't deliver to Thailand). Will it clear customs, or will I need to pay some sort of tax on it ?

Quality ex-pats ?
One has to remove one's shoes, before entering my house - does that count as "quality" ??? -
My wife went to the City Hall in Phitsanulok, (where they issue Thai Passports for our area). The official there attached her new and old Thai passports together, and put an official stamp in the new one, to continue the validity of the settlement visa, which was in her old Passport.

I've just used the service for the first time myself, (have had back pains for a few weeks), was sent for X-Ray, Doctor advised rest, he spoke really good English, as did a couple of the nurses.
I was very impressed with the service, with nothing to pay. I also got the card while I was there.- 1

I've searched the forum and can't see an answer to my question, so I'd be grateful for a reply to this :
I am currently on an retirement extension of stay, how long does the 800K have to be in my bank account, before I can renew the extension, is it three months or 4 months, before I go to immigration ?
Thanks for all replies / help.

Update: As it's my Birthday soon, a friend in the UK has offered to buy a Kindle for me from Amazon UK, have it sent to his house, put a lot of books on it for me, then post it on to me, by Post office parcel post , clearly labelled as a Birthday Gift - will I avoid any taxes if he does this ?
