  1. if as some claim, elections are invalid due to vote buying, for the cost of 1 to 2 months' rice scheme, the opposition could pay the bribes (500-1000 baht/vote) for the required swing vote... they will probably spend more on rent-a-mobs (and suthep's compensation scheme for those who die for him)

the reality is they don't lose elections because of vote buying (even the more sensible members of the "democrats" such as korn accept this is not a major factor), rather they lose elections because they are less popular than the government

the "democrats" should address their own shortcomings and take power democratically through positive and non-divisive campaigning, combined with a manifesto of policies that offer a prosperous and fair future for all thais (basically cut the hate speech, ask the people what they want, then offer it to them)

but this is too much hassle so instead they will take power by terror again, and as history tells us this will only be temporary as the government's supporters will fight for a return to democracy... and political instability will continue with no hope for peace... very sad

You mean the democrats feel more hassle paying the bribes (500-1000 baht/vote) for the required swing vote??

It is more easy for them to take power by terror.

I need to have a deeper thought now.

  2. 'Jatuporn charged that Suthep did not actually want national reform but wanted to grab absolute power for himself and his associates.'

    Spot on - I couldn't agree more.

And on top of that his "reforms" are so vague that nobody ever had a clue about what it was about...

I love to read the posts of these naive farangs who seem to believe that Suthep's "plan" is the panacea when it comes to eradicating corruption. What a bunch of dreamers... biggrin.png

Sent from my HTC One using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Even YL has come out of a reform plan. She mentioned once election is done, the reform plan will be carry out. Till now we seems have no idea with her reform plan either. When Suthep ask her to share their both reform plan in live tv, she decline.

    All are same same..

ps: I am not a fan of suthep

  3. Jatuporn charged that Suthep did not actually want national reform but wanted to grab absolute power for himself and his associates.

I thought Suthep want to reform first then election? Many communities also agree to reform first then election. Only YL(TS) govt refuse to reform first.

    "including stealing ballot boxes."

What part of 'democracy' is not here?

Did Suthep has stolen the ballot boxes?

  4. Most Political leaders throughtout history have displayed at least some of the following, and sourrounded themselves with others who did have, what they were missing.

    attrative physical attributes

    charisma

    intellectual capability/achievment

    political experience

    military or business success

    brutal tendencies

Jutaporn seemly lacks all of these, with the possible exception of the last one. He would probably fit in well with one of those 10 on 1 gang street fights.

The sad part is the majority of the present PT leadership seems to copy this assesment of qualification, by displaying none or maybe one of the redeeming qualities. As the leaders/cabinet, etc appear to be PT's "pick of the litters", I see no hope of it getting better with them in power.

    What attributes does Suthep possess.

    Tyranical

    Dictatorial

    Criminal

    Self Inflated

    Mental?

    Bi Polar?

Does this make him a better person Than Jataporn. ..?? I don't think so. In fact I can't name One politician who stands out as fit for purpose.

    There is one. TS

  5. Wonder how many of the posters here, posting burning posts to defend "their" side here, were actually politically active in their homecountries??

Or too much time on their hands here??coffee1.gif

Do you know when a person is pointing out at others with his index finger, his other three fingers are pointing him back. facepalm.gif

  6. People keep saying about Suthep's reform plan. What exactly is his plan?

Some observers thought is just a way of usurping the power from the YL govt.

But Suthep has proposed to YL to have a live tv broadcasting on sharing of both reform plan but YL refused.

There is no actual conversation about the reform plan yet.

Does Suthep really have reform plan? maybe yes/ maybe no.

Don't forget YL said she also has a reform plan.

So until now did she say about the actual reform plan?

I guess all are same same.

  7. Mr. Sura Khaonet, 31, was stopped by police patrols in Bangkok′s Bang Plad district yesterday after the officers noticed him acting suspiciously at a bus stop on Charansanitwong Road.

    What did he do?

He identified himself as a security guard at the anti-government protests. Police then searched his belongings and found a pistol, which Mr. Sura explained to have taken from his fellow volunteer guard, Private Kitti Mahaglan, 21.

Is there a need for him to declare as a anti-govt security guard?

Suddenly it is so easy for them to catch the culprit out of nowhere in the public. Hope it is not what i think.

It's all a bit TOO convenient isn't it?

    hmmm

  8. It is really stupid, isn´t?
Why they not organize a statewide signatures action?

I agree that in future no criminals and/or corrupt people can work in government, parliament or as a civil servant.
    Yes / No
It will be excluded, from now on, all persons from the Parliament, which
    a have criminal records.
    b running free on bail.
c were already banned from parliament in the past.
d against are corruption or crime cases opened.
    I agree Yes / No
I guess in 1 Week they can get a lot of signatures from all parts in Thailand.

Yes that is called an election and it is scheduled for Feb2

Then we will see who will collect the most signatures

But he obviously knows that if the people were allowed to choose he will loose, so he is going for the who can shout the loudest route.

Because he knows that if he doesn't block the elections, the new government will be solely composed out of people that belong to one or more of the 4 points Tomacht8 made clear should NOT be in any government.

Similar to the current government .

He is welcome to make this point during the election , convince the people of the merits in his argument and let the people decide,

But he either has no confidence in the straight of his argument , or his ability as a politician. or both.

please come up here to red country and try to say anything against Taksin this government or even simply put up a poster IF your Thai its likely you'll escape at best with simply a beating and probably be killed I dare you to try so please stop talking BS and crap and live in real world. You simply have no idea do you

Red country? You mean this province?

  9. Their biz is affected?

I remember the last time the anti-govt hold a rally (forget which day) and we assume it will be chaotic so we took a cab instead. We approached first taxi to go to pratunam and he try to charge us 200baht without meter on. My wife ask him why is he not charging by meter as we know the journey is only cost around 90baht?

The taxi driver said "today has a big rally." He reject taking us.

blink.png Today has a big rally, what the hell got to do with our trip??

So we took the 2nd taxi and he charge by meter. Our trip fare as predicted, 90.

We took few taxis on the same day and have some politic conversations with the drivers, found out that they do realise what has the govt done and what is the anti-govt all about. I don't hear much complaining about them losing business profits rather than they are quite conscious about the outcome of the future for Thailand or put it as their (citizens)future. They even advised us to avoid some of the jammed locations.

  10. The red-shirt leader charged that Suthep, the Democrat party, independent organization and some academics had conspired to prevent the February 2 election from taking place, hence it was necessary for all red-shirt followers to come out to protect democracy TS.

He is asking 1 baht from each red shirt follower? Come on la.. your big boss can fork out this money anytime. Why now become so pathetic to ask from the supporters? Are you just for the sake of some self-publicity tactic to show your supreme leader TS that you are still some value worthable?

  11. Sorry if I'm completely off topic. I'm not real familiar with Thai politics at all as I have never really taken an interest. To me Governments are all the same, full of shit and only ever do what's right for them. So was wondering if someone could please explain why, if the people of the country don't want Yinluck in power did they ever vote for her in the first place? I understand that her brother was in power before which seems quite strange how a brother and sister can both have their time at the top of the political ladder (Corruption at it's finest). Could someone also explain why, if she has the interests of the country at heart would she not step down in order to keep peace? If everyone hates her so much I'm surprised she hasn't been physically removed one way or another. I also don't understand why "The Family" don't step in and sort this out (Rule as rulers do). After all the entire country loves them and will listen to their every word.

Please see this clip. Hope it helps.

Note: There was a part of the clip that talked about red shirts, but did not explain well of what happened at Ramkhamhang. The red shirts are Thaksin supporters (who are known to be violent and burn Thailand down in 2010). Current protesters are the whistler blowers (who protest in peace and are against Thaksin regime). On Nov30-Dec1, the gov't organized the red shirts to come in to stir things up in Bangkok. They ended up crash with students at Ramkhamhang University. The dean tried to contact police, hoping the police would help protecting students. However, there was another clip showing that the police were on the same side with the red shirts. The police stood around. None came to helped the students.

    Who are the parents?

    http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/It+is+a+wise+child+that+knows+its+own+father

It is a wise child that knows its own father.

Prov. You can never have certain proof that a certain man is your father . (Implies that the child in question might be illegitimate.) It is a wise child that knows its own father, but Emily is so much like her dad that there's very little uncertainty.

To bad Thailand dosen't have a wise child in power

But we have a Father. wink.pngtongue.png

  13. This time UDD will have difficulties of recruiting huge army as before because some of the people who work for them in the past is not paid as promised.

Share a youtube link here about a thai citizen who was a RED supporter (i do not know him). In the video he self declare he used to be a red protester/guard working for UDD and same as others they all are promised to receive a sum of money for taking part in the protest activities. He mentioned there are red shirt people getting hurt or killed. All of them has take part in the event but only some of the protesters have gotten the rewards as promised. He is one of them who is out of the police station receive nothing. He even reveal his mobile number. People can call him for more details about the red activities if interested.

If more public start to know about this, it will be more difficult to organise a huge red rally.

Nevertheless, Jatuporn has mentioned his PEOPLE POWER. We will look forward to it.

ps: This is just a sharing with other TV members. Not sure about the authenticity of this video incase other op start to bash me

this guy is a yellow faking as a red, any proof or evidence.

You may call him and even come out for meeting session. Pls update in TV if anyone has contacted him.

    I am interested too. Thanks

  14. This fake video has been exposed by some observers. They are real policemen. In the video, they seems to mention getting gun inside the police van. How did they know there are guns inside the van? Later when they attempted to break the van window, you can see actually there is someone inside the van opening the van door and throw the stuff outside. Last part at 6.38 see the guy right at the back of the video, you can see a stationary protester saluting to the man who approaching him. Should be his superior.

    It is all setup.

EVeryone have different perspectives but overall many viewers has expressed great doubt in this video clip.

Do you really think the police would set up that many people running around dressed like protesters just to do a fake video of protesters breaking into a van?

The only voices you hear are the people in the office. Maybe they were worried that there were guns in there.

There were people on both sides of the van. Someone probably broke the front window and got in on the other side.

I agree. But why would the BiB park at least 3 vehicles (as the video shows) loaded with expensive equipment spread out in a public car park and abandon them?

Was this a clever bait to allow the CAPO to lay the blame for future police violence on "false policemen" or just the usual display of utter stupidity and carelessness?

My bet is on the latter.

    edit: typo

whybother: Like i said, people have different perspectives.

And you have watch the video clip, can you also give some comment about the guy wearing civilian attire (i don't call him as protester incase some op will bash me HOW DO YOU KNOW IS A PROTESTER) right behind in the video at 6.38 saluting the man walking toward him? Many has guess they are police undercovers. So what are they doing there? They should have seen the "protesters" ransacking the vans. You may rebuke me that person saluting to the other man doesn't prove they are the police. Probably just a lunatic staying around. Or maybe again it's the "protesters" playing the saluting police game or what ever reason anyone can think of.

Several police vans with many police equipments in the area without any police presence.

    ...... dry.png

This leave to everyone to judge, guess, verdict, conclude.

Like i said every have their own perspectives.

I with many viewers have the same sentiments of great doubt in this video.

You may disagree, i'm fine with it.

  15. So it's necessary to destroy democracy in order to save it?

Can't make an omelette without smashing a few eggs.

but you cant make an omelette by smashing up the kitchen

But the kitchen layout is created in a mess.

Wouldn't it better to redesign the kitchen to make your cooking process better and smoothly without any "obstruction"?

    Just my humble opinion.

  16. Both sides have legitimate gripes. Neither side is talking to the other.

This is not 2010. This is much more serious. If the people in Bangkok take control of the whole nation, it is really going to hit the fan. If the Shins refuse to share power, it is really going to hit the fan.

It is going to hit the fan. Stay out of the way.

Thai people deserve better than this. Seeing this is one of the saddest things I have ever seen in my entire life.sad.png

    thai people deserve exactly this

they have voted for who paid the most, promised the most and blindly voted for whatever colour they are told to vote for by the village headman

what they need is educating about issues but most don't care

65% said in a poll that corruption is ok for them

it seems a big issue to us westerners but in the most part Thais don't really give a shit and think not much further than tomorrow

this politics gig is all too much like hard work ...

You do realise at the micro level they are far more bothered about what affects them such as local funding schemes and things that make a difference to their lives than what some hi sos want in the capital right ?

Until they see thier lives improved they will support whoever delivers and like it or not for the rural poor it isnt and has not been nor will be the the yellows..

hearts and minds ... nothing the yellows are saying or proposing will make a bit of difference in the sticks and until that changes neither will their vote, and that is well understood in BKK .... the talk is there but talk is cheap they have had the proof with the healthcare and lately the rice subsidy... (bad that it may be ) they see what improves their lot and its not yellow...

Its not hard all the opposition had to do was to focus on the needs of the many instead of the few ... sadly they blew it

    The rice subsidy scam again?

I thought all the pro-red have got the message NEVER bring up the rice subsidy scam again.

Even the YL ministers have shut up in this issue.

I think you miss the live conference meeting, Jatuporn and his guy vs reporters and some other agencies. You may find the video in youtube. They are asking for the actual profit and loss, discrepancies , stock take. They (Jatuporn) can't even give the answer.

They did gave a merry-go-round figure but the participants give them an intensive drilling about the given figure. The video show they themselves got into merry-go-round mode instead. Giving lame explanations again and again, no proper convincing statement. And their body language show reveal alot without themselves knowingly. Nevertheless body language doesn't fully count as any proof for wrongdoings. We are not expert in this profession. We shall give them the benefit of doubt. To be fair, they need to give a fully account of this rice subsidy SCAM to the taxpayers who are very concern with the possibility of huge corruption involved.

But we know well this has been shoved under the carpet.

    Ptp Internal announcement:

  17. whatttttt???? people still do need evidence, how "peaceful" are these yellow thugs?

A must watch video and judge by yourself:

or maybe these yellow criminals just love to disguise themself....

    wah wah, go home bender.
