A pedant is a person who is excessively concerned with formalism, accuracy, and precision, or one who makes an ostentatious and arrogant show of learning.
Visa and marriage or retirement extension to Visa.
As they say "Same same but different"

Wrong again you cannot extend a VISA.
You can extend you permission to stay for the purpose of retirement or marriage to a Thai national.
It is not pedantic it is, maybe not to you, essential to people who come on here for information to be
armed with the correct terminology to enable them to get the right info they need to obtain the permission
to stay that suits their situation.
You and people like you cause such people no end of confusion and unnecessary worry and stress.

And if and when you get it it is not a spouse visa, there is no such thing, it is
an extension of permission to stay on the grounds of marriage to a Thai national
it is not a VISA.

Retirement Visa is so much quicker and easier than marriage visa. I have the additional funds so I don't know why I really bother applying for the marriage visa.

Once again there is no such thing as a retirement or marriage VISA they are extensions of permission to stay
NOT a VISA.

I don't have aircon. My other computer works fine so I'm looking for anti-humidity bags that can be 'recharged' in the oven.
Not sure if you can "recharge " silica gel bags i think once they are full they are done for.
Best of luck though.
1. In finding them here.
2. In "recharging" them successfully.

With the level of humidity in Thailand, which appears to be, causing your problem
any size of silica gel bags will probably become saturated very quickly?
Only solution I have found is to use it in an aircon room.

I think they already have sort of Thai version of
Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but don't know about the rest?

By far the best coffee I have tasted in Thailand is served at the
Sandwich Shoppe Cafe' & Bar in Patong, Phuket. They also have
delicious smoothies, made to order Sandwiches, full bar service,
and Thai menu.
All the usual coffee variations served from Espresso through Capo
to Caramel Macchiato. Great Coffee..............

Another option is to do the 90 day reports by mail. Been doing mine for about a year and half that way to the office here. Started doing them by mail after they moved the office further away in 2015.
Or use the 7 day grace period after due time and by your next extension date your back in sync.
No need for a trip out............

OK understood, thanks for that: So the visa extension is one thing and re-entry permits are another.
Incidentally, in Hong Kong, all longer duration visas (work, marriage, investment etc.) are multi-entry by default.I,m sorry there is no such thing as a visa extension, it is an extension of stay for the purpose of retirement and
if the requirements can be met it can be re-newed every year indefinitely, by which time your original visa will
have long expired.
I don't know about Hong Kong but in Thailand there is no such thing as a retirement or marriage VISA only
extensions of stay in the Kingdom for the purpose of marriage to a Thai national or for retirement, they are NOT
VISAS.
If you are intending to travel while based in Thailand I would strongly recommend that you get a multi re-entry
permit which can be purchased at almost any Thai immigration office or international airport.

Germans does drink much more surely but they drink alcohol from mouth not from ass; actually we do not talk here about drink ; we talk about behaviors after drink , its not a nationality case in fact ; its a culture and education case . basta
Most Germans I have met don't need to have a drink to be a royal pain in the proverbial.

I got mine from the TVF downloads page
So what made you think it was different??

That appears to be the same form I have been using for the last 9 years, no
changes that I can see??
Be aware that immigration require you to use this form on one sheet of paper
i.e. double sided not two sheets.

Lots of Germans everywhere on Phuket, lots of chinese, russians, french, brits, and many
other nationalities also, the place is overrun with foreigners.
Quite strange for a tourist spot eh??

Looks very much like a mobile phone booster or relay station???

I suspect just from cost factor there will be newer and better test equipment available in Bangkok - at the cost of some equipment hospitals really need to have a lot of use for it to make ends meet.
Agree that black nose/face used to be true in the diesel days in the center of Bangkok areas - but remember Bangkok is a bit larger than most cities - air has become much better in last several decades with the switch to gas, even downtown..
So what you are really saying that you have absolutely no experience or idea what the medical facilities
or their standards are in Phuket but you think Bangkok is better anyway??
I like OC have been in the care of at least three specialists here in Phuket for more than 9 years and still
have regular 4 monthly check ups with 2 of them and have yet to experience better facilities or service
anywhere in the world, and i have been to more than a few places in this world.

Thank you for your feedback.
It's true that the standard painter you would normally find in Phuket (and indeed in Thailand in General) wouldn't do a great job simply becasue they are not asked to OR they usually just paint regular walls which is not a complicated task and usually turn out well.
The photo I've attached indeed shows a professional work but I am fairly confident that there are quite a few painters in Phuket with experience in working with wood/wood panels and spray painting who can do a similar job just need to find them :)
I hope that there would be at least one member here who knows such a painter and can let me know.
Thank you.
I have always been a bit of an opimist myself, as i said good luck and please let us know how it
turns out..........
-
IMHO you will be extremely lucky to find anyone in Thailand far less Phuket to
do such a professional paint job as that but i wish you the very best of luck.
If money is no object i am sure you could import someone to do it to your
specifications..................

I've never seen a "foreign volunteer police" officer at Patong Immi.
Only the Thai guy lately who screens your paperwork at the entrance.
She has been there for ages and is a very large pain in the proverbial!!!!!
She is the main reason I would rather drive to Phuket town imm. off.
when i live in Patong.

Hi. I want to go to Khota Bharu for a TV - are they asking proof of funds and a ticket for onward travel? Is Sungai Kolok safe to stay overnight? Any other useful info or tips welcome. I don't want to go to Penang.
Many years ago I was a frequent traveler through Sungai Golok and stayed there often,
unfortunately since the troubles in the south i would be reluctant to do that now.
Having said that there has not been any recent reports of the troubles spilling over into
the border regions.
I you are going to Kota Bharu why don't you overnight there?

Sakon Nakhon. But I have a big motocycle. So it's not a problem to travel to Bangkok etc.
Do I understand correctly?
- I will go to Laos to get single entry O.
- I will change them into a 90 non immigrant visa.
- I will extend them for 1 year.
If so, which immigration offices can change their status?
Howard you cannot extend your visa when it is finished you have to get a new one.
But you can extend your permission to stay on the grounds of being married to a Thai national or
on the grounds of retirement provided you meet the required conditions in both cases.
It is NOT a visa it is an extension of your permission to stay.
You can continue to do this every year as long as you can meet the requirements at each application
due time, no visa involved any more.
Despite many people using the term over and over again there is NO such thing as a marriage or
retirement VISA.
