  1. You are correct. The internet social media also contribute to the arrival of the white trash. Thailand with its relatively cheap accommodation and availability of women doesn’t help here.
  2. The cacophony of Indian drums is enough to drive anybody nuts….loud and primitive drumming going on and on.
  3. Once the email had been hijacked, the gang played the long game studying the business operation for some time. Requesting the payment to be paid to other banks in other countries are common in international trade. This is for efficiency and lower cost of foreign exchange payments. I had a Japanese company ,whose email was hijacked ,paying into my supposedly hong kong bank account while my company is in Singapore. Scammed almost 40,000 US$.
  4. Sometimes tourists do not know how to go about paying the fines and getting the clamp removed especially when their mode of transport can no longer help them. &nbsp Trying to physically remove the clamp may be a lack of foresight and desperation. once my car was wheel clamped along sukhumvit soi 47 Bangkok . I have no idea how to go about it as there was no note or number to call. Finally I managed to ask local Thai for help. Got onto a motorbike taxi go to the relevant police station , paid the fines and (700tb) got onto the motorbike taxi again back to my car to wait for the police to unclamp . Waste of time indeed. So I believe the tourists would rather just pay the fine if they could rather than going thru the hassle of changing wheel. Just my feedback though.

  6. A 17 year old lady traveling with just a mobile and nothing else from Bangkok to pattaya at midnight do ask for some serious questions especially when a hailing ride was cancelled halfway the journey. The police had better ask the driver of the ride some serious questions . Overall not a good omen.
  7. Shirtless fellow is indeed sweating onto the pillows. Disgusting hygiene in a public facility. Who would want to use that space with his ’ odor’ all over ?
  8. Authorities not after the network because you take one down, another will fill into the vacuum. It is like organized crime. So authorities just try to stop the import as much as they can at the border control.
  9. Nothing will ever change until they instill stiff penalties on the offenders. Maybe jail time is necessary to knock some sense into their thick skulls. thai safety standards leave much to be desired. Life is cheap here.
  10. I think you are right. Thai QR code cannot be used by my overseas bank apps. All 4 of them. It said Thai QR code is not recognized by bank apps scanner so I guess each country’s bank app for QR code payment is localized only.
  11. Ya… adults do what adults do but these are behind closed doors or establishment catering to them. Not parading in the public spaces for all to see including children.
  12. Do not lump all Thais into one stereotype. As in other countries, there are various stages of decency in Thailand. Those bar girls working in Thailand are mainly from issan stock. Not all Thais are prudes and not all Thais are loose. However Thailand is still a conservative country steep in their culture and nudity in public is just a western culture not appreciated in Thailand. However when in their country, respect their cultural sensitivities or else go elsewhere. I believe Thais would not miss these type of tourists.
  13. If you value your life, never ever drive rural roads at night in Thailand. Trucks are notoriously under equipped for night driving be it human error or mechanical.
  14. Thailand was populated by Indians and people from western part of India in amcie t times. Even the Thai royalty were closely associated with Indian culture with the royal priests being Brahmins from Hinduism so there are many Thai citizens with Indian roots. Pakistan was part of Indian then. There are rich Thai Indian landowners along sukhumvit road from many years past.
  15. Manslaughter charges for the errant truck driver for sure.
  16. In Thailand, always drive defensively. Try to not drive after 7 pm as nighttime driving on Thai roads can be horrendous. Remember to never parked just behind big trucks with the notion of being rear ended by crazy drivers ( as in this case) even at traffic stops. Seen too many videos on speeding heavy vehicles with failing brakes at traffic junctions in Thailand .
  17. 52 years old is definitely too young to call it quits. May he find peace wherever he is…
  18. It is not the strength of the kick that matters. It is the way the other party was treated especially when the kicker is the foreigner . I think there is Thai face factor involved too. Maybe even a feeling of nationalism ? The Thai person is a doctor too. A profession that is held high in Thai culture. I believe the outcome would have been different if the doctor is just some everyday Thai person like a beach vendor, garbage recycler or a person of a lower social status.
  19. Why is it mostly the mistress who got the worst from the wife? What about the husband? It takes two to tango . If the wife is religious in Buddhist faith, she should be aware that this is all past karma. All parties are to be blamed. The mistress may ,in former life , even be emotionally connected to the husband and now the never ending cycle of karma due to the fatal incident.
  20. More likely the foot not following the mind in that person or the person mistakenly put his foot down the gas pedal instead the brake pedal. Mild parkinson?
  21. A very heated argument that sully his manhood? Who is supporting whom financially and maybe the wife felt empowered with new economic strength from the karaoke shop. We will never know.
  22. Even have to call police anonymously. Thais thin skinned. Altercation could escalate if he lose face.
  23. Thailand borders with neighboring countries by land with mountain or river acting as natural borders geographically. There is no long never ending fencing on land borders so crossing the border is easily done. Problem arises a few kilometers down the roads where there are road blocks manned by the soldiers or police depending upon where they are. If losing your passport, you can’t always claim you lost it and be on your way to the embassy to report it. Local authorities do not want to be bothered by this issue. once I visited the 3 pagoda pass on the border between thailand and myanmar. You can enter into one shopfront which is on Thailand ground and exit the rear door which is on myanmar land. No fuss no authorities. It is free I was told but I did not want to tempt fate because the fee for coming back might not be free.
  24. Like watching a couple of cockerels fighting while posing in front of the hens. A show of prowess in the bedroom simulation. No harm to any participants here. Just an overdrive of testosterone hormone.
  25. Let’s hope the reputation of Thai authorities regarding criminal activities are upheld by these arrests instead of the universal open secret of ‘ money makes your problem go away here in Thailand ‘ mentality. Criminals would make Thailand their base if they think the authorities here are light weight.
