Tourism Pattaya's New Tourist Tide: Indian Visitors Stir Up Debate
NoshowJones replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
"but Bangkok is a lot more pleasant these days". Very true but also a lot more expensive and not to forget the cheating taxi drivers. Also, where are the hotels around the 800 Bt mark? There were quite a few, and these closed during the Chinese Virus and never reopened. I can get a hotel or guesthouse for much less in Pattaya and then there's the cheap baht buses. -

Be warned about Lazada fakes, they seem to be getting more common recently. -
Stop Complaining

It's the 90 day reporting that get's me, I would not care if the IO office is at the end of my street, it is the thought of being treated like a criminal on parole. What other country does this sort of thing to law abiding retiree's? -
I was told by someone who knows of someone else who sent his proof of life certificate to the wrong address and wondering why there was no answer back, got in touch with them and was told that his state pension was now being stopped. I read on the DWP website that they cannot reduce or stop your state pension. So what is it really, what can the DWP really do or not do regarding your state pension?

Poll If war breaks out with Cambodia what will you do?
NoshowJones replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If a war broke out I would want Cambodia to win and take over Thailand. I am not going to state all the reasons why, it should be obvious to all the Farangs in Thailand. -

Did the Senators another name for Generals ie the Military not stop Pita, the peoples choice from being PM by some formality? -

"They want to remove a democratically elected PM". Democratically elected by who?? Unless I have missed something, certainly not by the Thai people. -
UK Reform would be largest party if general election held today
NoshowJones replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Trans, all these working class voters thought all these liars of Labour PM's from Wilson right up until Blair and Brown were better than any Tory being in control. They could not have been more wrong. At least none of these Tory PM's Thatcher, Major etc started any lies and said they were the party of the working class. -

"Farage is no more than a gift-of-the-gab, salesman". Anyone is better than a liar with a "Sir" in front of his name who is supposedly on the side of the working class. -

Anyone has a higher standard standard than labour. At least the Tories don't pretend to be the party of the working class like the liars of the Labour government. -

Immigration American Man Arrested for 388-Day Overstay in Sri Sa Ket
NoshowJones replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I am the last person to have automatic respect for a countries laws, of course I will respect anyone's laws if in my opinion they are fair. Let me put it this way. When I came to Thailand to stay, I was required to go to the border every 90 days for a stamp in my passport. I did due diligence and saw that this was a fair way of staying in the country, I did that for a couple of years and then was a school teacher for a few more years. So I did everything legally and had a work permit. So when that finished I thought I could go back to the way things were when I first came to stay in Thailand. No chance, of course I could put 800,000Bt in one of my bank accounts, but I did not agree with that, so I had to go to an agent 500 Ks away in Pattaya to get sorted out , of course this came at a price. Compare that to when I first came to live in Thailand a few years previous, better still compare then to now when I have to make regular runs to pay an agent, do 90 days reports. Is it any wonder I have no respect for Thailand or some of their laws. It is so, so different to when I came here 20 years ago, and very much for the worse. -
Is Melatonin Unavailable in Thailand Now?
NoshowJones replied to racket's topic in Health and Medicine
I recently bought melatonin from Lazada for on the plane and it 100% did not work, does that mean it is probably fake? The time before that, the same bottle worked very well, but may I emphasis that it was only for on the plane and jetlag. -

If you get a 90 day supply of melatonin do you keep taking one tablet a day for 90 days, or do you keep taking it indefinitely? Does that mean you are addicted to it? I am having sleep problems with about 4 hours at night and maybe two separate hours through the day, This has only started recently. I am too frightened to take sleeping tablets except for jet lag. -
