That must have been some school. When I was a teacher, a shirt open at the collar, no tie and a pair of ordinary trousers, and that was it.

I'm all for the death sentence for certain killers, but you have to be 100% sure that they are guilty, far too many people tell lies.

I am very surprised to read this. The schools I taught at were upcountry and the secondary school had about 3000 students. The directors were very decent and always approachable.

I was a teacher here in Thailand for a few years in both in both Primary and Secondary schools and never once saw any teacher use any violence.

"corporal punishment never hurt anyone long time." That is absolute garbage. I know that from childhood experience. I was no angel at school, but was belted by the headmaster and one teacher just for making simple mistakes, or giving the wrong answer with sums. I grew up after leaving school with the attitude that no one had better even as much as threaten me with any violence, even my own father never laid a hand on me over the age of 12, and by the time I was 15 would have been more of a match for him if he even tried. I can say in all honesty I was never grounded as my father would never had been able to keep me in.

I never had any children, but if I did, I would have personally approached every teacher who was going to teach my kids and giving them a stern warning that any violence against my kids and there would be severe consequences. The teachers would be allowed to punish them in almost any way, but not by violence.

Just because we hardly ever read about the results of an investigation does not necessary mean that something hasn't been fully investigated. This seems to apply to anything in Thailand, not just road fatalities. I am not saying that this is the case but is it possible that the stupid Thai defamation law has anything to do with it?

I nearly always agree with your posts Richard, but this time we will have to just agree to disagree.

If people are that drunk they can hardly walk then of course they can cause danger to other people, ie walking out on to the road without looking, traffic having to swerve to avoid them.

You with the Thumbsdown. There are people, and not just in Thailand who get drunk and INCAPABLE, and pick on some innocent person just walking along and minding their business. See how you would feel if some member of your family was set upon by some drunk.

I should have said drunk and incapable, but I still say that people who are drunk and INCAPABLE in public should be arrested on the spot and jailed.

I detest drunk anybody when in public. They are a danger to everyone else as well as themselves and should be automatically put in jail.

There were two good buffets for the Cheap Charlies, the evening buffets at the Lex Hotel and the breakfast buffets at the hotel farther down the road on the opposite side, but this is in Pattaya. They never opened again since the Chinese Virus.

A few years ago at LHR I saw an unattended suitcase sitting at the side of a passageway, I got hold of a security man and pointed it out to him, he just said it belonged to someone sitting a few seats in with some other people at the other side of the passageway. If I had a suitcase anywhere I would want it sitting beside me.

I will never take my shoes off to enter an ordinary shop no matter what signs are on the door. I usually wear ordinary sandals so it means that I have to sit on the sidewalk to take them off and again to put them back on. If there was a seat to sit on then yes, I would.

I have been using Temu quite a bit recently, though not on the app, on my desktop, but they have put a stop to that now, they would not let me make payment until I could do some sort of quiz that I cannot complete. i am finished with them now and still waiting for Items ordered about a month ago. Another thing, don't buy anything from them with a zip on it, the quality is awful.

If I don't agree with anyone's rules and regulations I will break them if I can find a way around it.

I am referring to personal experience, you will get aggressive and confrontational people in any country. I do not and never have drunk alcohol and have always just minded my own business, though as I pointed out in a previous post, I will never allow queue jumping in front of me.
