  1. I really have no idea re making them last longer. 1.5gm is already minimum recommended dose.
  2. The drug is not available in Thailand. Also appears unavailable in Indonesia. Make sure to drink enough liquids and I would suggest an electrolyte drink daily, may help.
  3. Again, you knowing what medication you need does not mean a doctor at a hospital will immediately prescribe it to you. Chonburi is a rural regional hospital, staffed mainly by interns and residents. It is large, crowded, busy, very bureaucratic and totally unused to a patient showing up with diagnosis from somewhere other than their own network of government hospitals. You risk being made to go through the whole diagnostic process all over, or at least a lot of delay. Chula is also crowded and busy but as a tertiary university hospital gets a lot of patients from elsewhere and it will not be such an anomaly for them. Just my advice, based on decades of referring people to Thai hospitals and their feedback.
  4. Does not need a vascular doctor (if in fact it is a cherry angioma) - just a dermatologist and can be removed with liquid nitrogen or laser. The main issue is that it may leave a scar. Need a doctor very skillful with laser. This dermatologist in Pattaya has a good reputation http://www.lanitivadee.com/index.php?lay=show&ac=article&Ntype=8
  5. There is a semi-private after hours clinic there, as is true of most government hospitals. Whio made the original diagnosis of alopecia areata? It is an automimmune condition so needs someone who specialized in autoimmune dermatology. There are several doctors at Ramathibodhi Hospital (also a government hospital, but has a semi-rprivate "Premium" Clinic ) who specifically specialize in thsi condition: Dr. Chaninan Kositkuljorn Dr. hipprapai Mahasaksiri Dr. Tanaporn Anuntrangsee Dr. Poonkiat Suchonwanit Of these, the last also has hours at Bumrungrad https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Poonkiat-Suchonwanit
  6. No problem giving company names if post is positive However note that a claim being paid may have at least as much to do with the circumstances and policy details as with the company. Get in an accident while driving drunk, or without a valid license, or (motorcycle/bicycle) without a helmet = no company will cover. Ditto injury sustained as a direct result of intoxication and/or very reckless behavior (balancing on balcony rail to take a selfie, diving head first into a shallow pool etc etc) will nto be covered. Neither will a policy which has expired/not been renewed pay out.
  7. OP where in Thailand are you?
  8. Obviously anyone weak/debilitated or handicapped enough to have to go into a nursing home, once in this institution, will have considerable (near total) loss of autonomy and control. It is essential that a family member (or other person with power of attorney) visit regularly to keep an eye on things. There is no overall government regulation of nursing homes in Thailand so it is very much consumer beware. Some are good, some are awful, many are in-between.
  9. Avoid clinics altogether. Go to Bangkok. Suggest www.yanhee.net
  10. Where in Thailand are you?
  11. Institute of Dermatology near Victory monument Government hospital.
  12. https://www.praram9.com/en/doctors/dr-peera-thienpitoon/ There have been very few cases in Thailand. The above doctor published on the subject abd treated the first case in Thailand.
  13. "rheumatism" - not a medical diagnosis. It is a vague lay term that covers a range of very different diseases. Including gout and the various different types of arthritis (see below) Arthritis - you need to specify what you mean. Rheumatoid arthritis? Osteoarthritis? Psoariatic arhtritis? AFAIK known of these are directly affected by alcohol. Gout is definitely exacerbated by, and can even be caused by, alcohol. See https://americanaddictioncenters.org/alcoholism-treatment/how-does-alcohol-impact-the-risk-of-gout Beer is especially bad, but any alcohol can be a problem for a gout sufferer
  14. https://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/doctor-profile?v_id=7&depid=2 is the go to doctor for any type of skin cancer I can't say re a lesion on the penis but when I had excisional biopsy on my face many years ago, it came to about 14K including the pathology report. Costs have gone up since so call it 20K.
  15. Actually you may have been more anxious on the second reading since the accuracy of your machine was what concerned you. Note that the difference was mainly in the systolic (top number).
  16. For that, I would suggest Chulalongkorn Hospital's Cancer Center https://chulalongkornhospital.go.th/kcmh/en/ec/ศูนย์ความเป็นเลิศทางก-17/ Mesothelioma is quite rare in Thailand. Your knowing what chemo you need and getting an oncologist at a hospital to order it are not exactly the same thing. From my experience, in a situation like this you stand the best chance of at Chula and the worst chance at Chonburi (would probably get it eventually there but likely a lot of runaround at first.)
  17. The mandate was for medication prices only and ust that it be posted somewhere nto necessarily website. And no, as far as I have seen, not done. (Or else posted somewhere not obvious). Actually given how long the list of medications a hospital pharmacy might provide is, not easy to do. But the issue at that time was mark ups on medications.
  18. Swelling and inflammation of the nerve that controls the muscles on one side of the face, which in turn may be caused by a viral infection (often herpes simplex, same virus that causes cold sores)/reaction to a viral infection, or an autoimmune disorder. Anything that weakens the immune system (stress, lack of sleep etc) increases the chance of getting it.
  19. Wear an eye patch at night and use saline eye drops Steroids (if no contraindication) can help but must be started within 72 hours of symptoms
  20. Obviously, listen to your body (and mind) and do nto take this. I occasionally have run across Thai doctors giving serious psych meds as off label approach to insomnia. Usually not a good idea.
  21. Cannabis is also a chemical. Some people say it works. For others, it does not. Using only once or twice a week is not going to cause dependence
  22. As I recall, I too had to supply my parent's full names when I got my tabian baan. I do not recall being asked for anything more than their full names, but as it has been many years perhaps I forgot. In any event it was nothing I could not answer off the top of my head. I think it is for identification purposes in case there is more than one person of the same exact name and date of birth.
  23. Bickering/flaming posts have been removed,
  24. In fact it was not the "best" hospital (there is virtually no such thing since all hospitals contain both good and bad doctors). But it was the most expensive hospital, not only in Pattaya but in the whole country. And one with 3 tier pricing; clearly they were classifying this person in the first tier (tourist) price category.
  25. Your BP readings are fine and completely normal. Absolutely nothing to worry about.
