For these contents, absolutely use only USPS. ANY courier will result in it being confiscated for lack of an FDA import license. It is technically nto legal to send through mail otherwise. Also be sure to send in small quantity. Frankly you would do better to order for your friend through iHerb/thailand. They have the way to ship such things to Thailand without arousing customs problems down pat. https://th.iherb.com/ click on upper righthand corner "TH" to change language and currency preference

Thai hospitals: More tests, more money? What is it all about?
Sheryl replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Health and Medicine
ICU care costs vary greatly depending on the care required. Someone on a ventilator will cost vastly more than someone not. -
Thai hospitals: More tests, more money? What is it all about?
Sheryl replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Health and Medicine
Actually it is quite possible and not unusual. Generally occurs when ICU care -- especially specialty ICU care -- and/or specialized surgery is involved. As to OP's friend it is impossible to say anything without knowing the details. But the fact that additional tests led to a revision of diagnosis suggests they were necessary. The hospital his friend is in, is quite expensive and care there does cost more than same care elsewhere. But I have not known them to do completely unnecessary tests and procedures just tomake more money. They do not need to. -
Advisable time between international arrival and domestic departure?

I have arrived twice since start of the year. Terribly long waits both times. -
Advisable time between international arrival and domestic departure?
Sheryl replied to jil's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I have sometimes had clearing immigration alone take over an hour. And then there is the posdibily of your international flight being delayed abd thus arriving late. If you are not going to be able to check uour luggage through to finsl destination I would suggest you overnight near the airport as th8s removes all risk and pressure. Plenty of hotel options. if you will be able to check your luggage through then I'd allow not less than 2, preferrably 3, hours. -
Stage 4 cancer of what?
-
There is a government cancer hospital in Chonburi. In Bangkok, all the major (tertiary) government hospitals treat cancer and have oncologists. Some have specialty centers for treatment of specific cancers. I could advise more specifically if I knew what type and stage of cancer. Compared to upcountry the hospitals in Bangkok are more crowded abd likely to have longer wait lists. But on plus side have more experienced doctors and are better equipped (hence the larger number of patients coming). Some also have dual pricing for foreigners.

Yes, always has been. But hard to find and no longer widely used since there are now newer and better drugs in this class. Bisoprolol, atenolol, metaprolol all easy to find.

Agree with the above. In addition, you should be aware that Thai insurers can and often will raise rates on an individual basis if you have a claim. These are on top of age related increases and inflationary adjustments and many people end up priced out at an age where they can no longer get a new policy. Insurers based in Western countries are not allowed to do this. I frankly cannot think of a single advantage to Thai insurers vs international expat policy.

Yes as far as anyone knows. It is a natural substance in the human body. Some countries (including US) categorize it as a supplement rather than a drug.

Your blood pressure readings are not low. They are normal. -

I have no idea where the Moderna doses are. There was a delay between receipt of the Pfizer and it being available. Since the Moderna donation is quite recent, may just be a matter of time. AFAIK biovalent vaccine is not available in my area. Getting vaxxed out here (with anything) is more than a bit of challenge.

It is indeed in Thai but pretty short and easy if opened in Google Chrome with translation option.

Absolutely. As well as nonaddictive. Lorazepam is a benzo. Addictive and one builds a tolerance such that it stops working. If yoy must take it keep to glthe rule I mentioned before.

Novo Nordisc 'Wegovy' weight-loss drug available?
Sheryl replied to Kaoboi Bebobp's topic in Health and Medicine
This specific brand and formulation is not available and use of thsi drug for weight loss is not as yet approved by the Thai FDA. Semaglutide is available in oral form for use in diabetics. Only from hospitals, not over the counter. And diabetoc dose is much higher than for weight loss. And yes, very expensive. -
Everyone is different. There is no specified maximum dose or recommended dose but conventionally, people do nto usually take more than 10mg at once. It is a substance naturally present in the body. For me, I need larger doses. I take 10 mg before bedtime and if I waken in the middle of the night I take another 5,mg sublingual fast acting. But that is me and everyone responds differently. I would suggest you try 5 mg. But you can try 3 if you prefer.

?? I don't think you meant to say "can't become addicted" ??? Anyone can and will become addicted to morphine if they take it regularly.
-
These are all benzos and tolerance (and addiction) develops with constant use. Continually raising the dose just gets you in deeper trouble. You have already developed tolerance (and would suffer withdrawal effects if you tried to stop on your own - do so under medical supervision). Which is why it no longer works. For anyone else taking or thinking of taking these drugs a good rule of thumb is: Not more than 2-3 times a week and never 2 nights in a row

Any sleep study will check for sleep apnea. OP where in Thailand are you located?

Quick dissolve sublingual melatonin works well for me with middle of the night/too early morning waking. I keep it by the bedside. Takes about 10-15 minutes and I'm back asleep. Need to have at least 3 hours left to sleep before taking though, or else I will have trouble getting up. I use Natrol brand 5 mg, you van get it on Lazada
