  1. It is also used, in nasal spray form, for a variety of allergic/inflammatory nasal conditions.
  2. Registered post might expose the drops to high temperatures. Most need to be kept cool. Should use a courier able to assure air conditioned storage throughout....but that will cost much more. Also if he is totally without medication a 7-10 day wait is inadvisable.
  3. Dr. Greechart is an excellent plastic surgeon. He trained in Canada and his English is excellent. But his staff may not speak much. I don't know if he does virtual condultations or not. Yanhee is usually a good bet. They will provide virtual consultation at no charge form is in their website.
  4. Have you reviewed the locations of the pharmacies in the link I sent?
  5. This requires a doctor prescription in the US which is whete he us. He does not need an eye exam. He just needs re-supply of an ongoing medication prescribed by his opthalmologist back home. Many GPs would be comfortable providing that. He has been given alternatives that would likely cost the equivalent of about 2,500 baht (for getting the script...med cost will be additional and in US, often quite high.... This will prove to be an expensive oversight. )
  6. All of the doctors listed at INZ are opthalmoligists. One has a sub-specialty in oculoplastics. You really want a plastic surgeon for this. Dr. Greechart now has his own clinic/small hospital. https://www.miladahospital.com/home-eng.html Make sure to have this done under local, not general, anesthetic unless fone in large hospital.
  7. 72 year olds vary greatly in their state of health. Many can and do undergo surgeries and invasive procedures with prompt recovery. My mother had 2 major surgeries in her 80's. Walked out of the hospital 24 hours later just fine in both cases. People in thei 70's and 80's, and sometimes even their 90's -- - undergo major surgery all the time. Not unusual these days, thanks to improved surgical and anesthetic techniques. Conversely there are much younger people who, due to obesity and/or chronic health conditions, are poor surgical risks. However no indication at this point that OP needs surgery. Sounds like he hadn't even gotten a diagnosis yet. And we don't know anything about his overall state of health.
  8. Both higher and lower hermiated disk herniations can affect either the left or right side - or neither; disk herniations can be asympyomatic. It depends on whether the disk presses on a nerve root and if so, on which side. Both sides are equally possible.
  9. He has to pay for some sort of doctor consultation to get the script, yes. But it can be about half what he was quoted if he uses telemedicine. That would not work if he needed a diagnosis, but for a routine med refill for an already diagnosed chronic condition should be possible. Will be important for him to make the situation clear when he enters initial info e.g. "Traveller to US forgot medication at hime. Need prescription for ongoing glaucoma eye drops. Already diagnosed and on ths medication long term" not "glaucoma treatment".
  10. Herniated disk can cause pain on either side, just depends on where the disk bulges. There are other causes of back pain as well, not just herniated disk. Spinal operations are done in multiple Bangkok hospitals both public and private. But it is far from clear the OP needs surgery. We don't know how long the pain has been present nor its cause. Sounds like he has not had a proper diagnosis.
  11. The forum search function does nto work well. Use google instead and add "site:aseannow.com" https://aseannow.com/topic/1259087-good-dentist/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1317720-dental-clinics-in-pattaya-area/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1314023-recommend-a-dentist-in-pattaya-2023/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1279818-pattaya-dental-treatment-any-recommendations/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1051472-german-dentist-on-thappraya-road/
  12. There are at least 3 Thai brands. See this thread for details of large pharmacies in Chiang Mai. Dara Pharmacey and Peera pharmacy in particular are recommended. https://aseannow.com/topic/1047628-best-chiang-mai-pharmacy/ Boots is not really a pharmacy in Thailand, sells mainly cosmetics and tolietries. Never a good choice. Stick to large Thai pharmacies like Peera and Sara and others mentioned in the above thread.
  13. Best to inquire at the hospital. Different hospitals may do different things.
  14. I think he is talking about the cost of seeing a doctor to get a prescription. But indeed, should look at GoodRx to reduce cost of the med itself.
  15. Look into cost of telemedicine as suggested in my prior post.
  16. Not all doctors "shy away" from surgery (if otherwise indicated) on a 72 year old unless you have other conditions that make you a poor surgical risk (e.g. heart kidney, lung, or liver problem). Especially now that there is more available in minimally invasive surgical approaches. In addition there are often non surgical interventions like epidural injections, nerve blocks etc. that can greatly help. However, Thai doctors lacking specialized expertise in spinal disorders (a select few and even excluding most orthopedists) will certainly shy away ftom any of these things. And Thai doctors have a marked tendency to never tell a patient that they need to see a more specialized doctor elsewhere. You should see a good spinal specialist for proper diagnosis and treatment plan if this pain has been going on for say 6 weeks or more. That will probably mean travelling to Bangkok. If the pain is newer than that, and not radiating down your leg or causing leg weakness then conservative measures like anti-inflammatory meds (if no contraindications), heating pads, and stretches/exercises can be tried. You will find plenty of suggested exercises and stretches on You Tube if you search under "low back pain". Important: stop any stretch or exercise that worsens the pain at once and don't repeat it. Continue to walk up to your tolerance, don't stop altogether. Several short walks a day may be better than one longer walk.
  17. Yes the insurer can always decline an upgrade of cover. Same idea as deductible: you can alwsys increase it but not necessarily decrease it. How old are you? As your premium is obviously much less than mine. But you also said your premium is for Zone 3. Possibly it was issued before the change to Zone 2 went into effect. If so, the next 2 years may see a substantial increase in your premium. I will probably stay with Essential and 500 deductible but still waiting on numbers from the broker. My premium isn't due until August.
  18. Personally I find Doxylaime better but people do vary. Yes probably less groggy with it than with hydralyzine. Neither is recommended for regular long term use.
  19. This is not approved for use in Thsiland. Antihistamines available here that can be used for sleep/sedation include: 1. Hydroxyzine 2. Doxylamine (Sominar)
  20. As above. @bhatmasterson a Thai prescription hss no validity in the US. You will need to get a prescription from a doctor licensed in the US. One of the telemedecine services is probably the most economicsl spproache (I've used Amwell in the past). Before you call, have the pharmacy name, address and phone number handy to give the doctor so they can call the prescription in. And of course the name, strength and dose of the medication. Ask them to prescribe a generic, drug prices in US are sky high.
  21. Not quite. They can continue to sell things approved as "non dangerous drugs" (paracetemol etc). And of course in practice this rule is often ignored. Indeed many small pharmacies upcountry have no pharmacist on staff. White coats are not a reliable indication. Wherever you live it is worthwhile locating a reasonably large, air- conditioned pharmacy with a "real" pharmacist. Small towns may not have one but provincial capitals will have at least one. In Pattaya Fascino is good choice.
  22. The Producer. In charge of the entire operation. Why not wait for the trial to see what the evidence is and what the prosecution's grounds for believing the producer liable are?
  23. Nobody questions that. And she has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Baldwin has not yet come to trial so we don't know yet what the basis for accusing him is. It might pertain to his role as producer rather than as actor. The "safety lady" in effect worjed for him and as producer he would have been involved in all sorts of decisions and policies, some if which may be relevant. Presumably this will all be laid out in the trial.
  24. Almost everyone has thoughts while meditating. Moments of pure observation without thought, while what one attempts to do, is achieved only for brief momrnts in most cases. And when one has such moments, they are times of intense awareness. Hardly analgous to lack of mental stimulation; the mind is very stimulated and aware.
  25. For what reaso would live rounds ever be used while making a film?
